Just saw this on Jimmy Dore. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/supreme-court/supreme-court-weighs-jan-6-rioters-obstruction-challenge-affect-trumps-rcna147841 https://www.stanfordlawreview.org/online/interpreting-obstruction-the-capitol-riot-donald-trump/ In the legal fallout from the riot, hundreds of prosecutions, each featuring a range of offenses, pummeled the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia (“D.D.C.”) docket. One commonly charged crime, perhaps the most obvious, was obstruction of an official proceeding under 18 U.S.C. § 1512(c)(2).7Open this footnote 7 About one-third of Capitol Riot defendants were charged with obstruction of an official proceeding. Jason Willick, This Jan. 6 Case Could Make U.S. Politics Even Worse, Wash. Post (Apr. 13, 2023, 6:03 PM EDT), https://perma.cc/2BJM-8CNP. Whereas some charges seemed too minor (surely the rioters did more than trespass) and others required proof of elements that many defendants may not have satisfied (such as assault and seditious conspiracy), obstruction hit the sweet spot.

It's easy to get off of jury duty if you want to. I tried to stay on jury duty once but when the prosecutor found out I had just finished law school I knew I was gone. I made that SOB use a strike though!

Interesting yarn. Yeah I was looking for the drone footage too but I'm not going to dump on CCTelander. :) But you know what's scarier? Real life! No way in hell I'd go into some unexplored cave after seeing these videos:

Without the details of both cases it's impossible to tell. But it's beyond silly (and both sides do this) to pick random events in different states with different laws and typically different circumstances and try to make and issue based solely on the races of the people involved. Recently a black assistant principal was charged with child neglect for not doing enough to prevent a 6 year old boy from shooting a white teacher. His mom has already been convicted. https://www.npr.org/2024/04/11/1244174062/assistant-principal-is-indicted-in-connection-with-shooting-done-by-6-year-old

I don't agree with that outcome. But I do think it's a shame that it took 3 years for the DA to drop charges against Deshawn Douglas, a young black man, who shot an killed his white neighbor who was filmed getting up on Deshawn's porch to provoke him and then later tried to strangle the young back with a poorly done triangle choke. https://www.wlbt.com/2023/02/24/da-drops-manslaughter-charge-against-rankin-county-man-who-killed-his-neighbor-2020/ I can't find the video of the triangle choke itself but I've seen it.

She may not have been aware? How about she absolutely was not aware! I used to Uber drive and it's not uncommon for one person to order a pickup for another. And the Uber records will prove that at trial. I get it. He was being scammed. He still killed an innocent, unarmed, disabled woman who was trying to just get away from him because she had no idea what was going on. Had he said "Just wait right here and I'll get it" and went inside and called 911, she's still be alive, he wouldn't be facing a manslaughter charge, and the police might have been able to catch the perp behind the scam.

Thanks, but you don't need to debunk any of that. We all know SS is delusional. We were all on this planet during Trump's tenure and saw all of his picks. Not only did we see them, we saw how Trump lauded them and praised them as very good super picks - the best picks ever.

He didn't keep a chokehold on him after he passed out. In fact the drunk person didn't pass out a all. It kind of makes a helluva difference whether the person you're restraining dies or not. I've yet to see a complete Daniel Penny video (which is why I still haven't given my opinion on it) but I know for a fact that I would have convicted Derek Chauvin for killing George Floyd for the simple reason that Chauvin had his knee on Floyd's neck for 2 minutes after Floyd no longer had a pulse. If Penny did something similar, then why should he not be charged and/or convicted? Penny's lawyer tried to point to another case where someone on a subway took defended himself from a gun wielding assailant and killed the assailant in the process as a reason his client should walk. https://nypost.com/2024/03/15/us-news/daniel-pennys-lawyer-applauds-das-decision-not-to-charge-brooklyn-subway-shooter/ I can see the difference between those two instances. Can you?

Swordsmyth keeps repeating the false claim that Trump had to appoint swamp critters like William Barr, who had ties to Jeffrey Epstein, to be Attorney General, Mike Pompeo to be Secretary Of State, and John Bolton to be National Security Advisor as a "compromise" with Mitch McConnell to avoid impeachment. Here's the problem. William Barr was nominated to be attorney general BEFORE Trump made the phone call that led to his first impeachment! Timeline: December 7, 2018, William Barr nominated by Donald Trump to be attorney general. April 2018, John Bolton nominated to be National Security Advisor. April 2018, Mike Pompeo nominated to be Secretary Of State. July 2019, Donald Trump made the phone call to Zelinski that led to his first impeachment.

LOL. So RFK supports MItch McConnell? Unless you've got donation receipts to back that up STFU. Nobody put a gun to Trump's head and forced him to fill the swamp in order to drain it. He did NOT have to appoint William Barr to be AG and Mike Pompeo to be SOS. He could have nominated Pat Buchanan for SOS. If Mitch shot Pat down that would have damaged him more than Trump. Jay Seculo for attorney general. Again, Mitch would have damaged himself more trying to take him on. You're not even TRYING to make sense.

More energy with less fuel is a good thing. Wasting resources and or added pollution is not good. One thing I don't need a scientist for is to see the evolution of the Electric Vehicle. Back in 1980's a personnel video recorder was huge and had a huge heavy battery, the Mobile phone was the same way. Now a tiny phone has a huge computer, better video capabilities than that fancy camera, can handle phone calls and allow texting and sending pictures. What about a premium Television in 1990? It was a huge heavy box that took up 1/3 of a room. Now they weigh little and are bigger with better quality picture. Let us not forget GPS devices that cost hundreds if not thousands of dollars, and digital camera's that were hundred if not thousands of dollars. 1980 Comuta-Car Electric Runabout

I wish things were a lot more local too. I'm really not looking for a country of 300 million at all. I think that's too big. Those who didn't want to live by Christian law could live somewhere else and choose God's judgment over his blessings.

And while I do believe the BIble requires civil authorities to punish homosexuality, and with death as the maximum penalty, I don't think it would be legitimate even for the government to just round up people in a gay bar.

  8. Sorry, but you have failed. That verse does not contain the words "Grace is irresistible." You can interpret it that way, but that's not what the verse says. You had to admit there was "relational language" in the Bible. Yet you have stuck to your guns that there isn't a verse that says "Have a relationship with Jesus." Likewise there is no verse that says "Grace is irresistible." If you were honest you would simply admit that. But you aren't honest.

    Acts 13:48
And when the Gentiles heard this, they began rejoicing and glorifying the word of the Lord, and as many as were appointed to eternal life believed.

In the twilight of the Cold War, the United States spent millions of dollars to supply Afghan schoolchildren with textbooks filled with violent images and militant Islamic teachings, part of covert attempts to spur resistance to the Soviet occupation.
