If you look at how well the Russian military has done so far, I suggest that the chances of that operational goal are slim to none. The Russian military doesn't have the ability to do that as it currently stands. There is even the slim chance they can meet their original goals which was to secure many of the major Oblasts up to the Dnieper River. Putin would be in protracted war of attrition for years to achieve something like this. The only way this happens more quickly is if NATO gives up on Ukraine. As it stands now the chances of escalation before Russian victory outweigh that possibility. This is not good.

I think what I've learned with people like this is that if they are truly doing things for the good of the country and are at least resembling a "statesman" rather than a career Oligarch, they are more amicable to actually having a discussion about things. I guess what I'm trying to say it's more likely that someone like RFK Jr. is willing to actually listen to people who disagree with the regulatory state than it is for someone who is strictly there to enrich themselves and the cronies who put them in office. That being said, we will have to see how willing he is and where his red lines are. Do I think we will hear a debate where he gets to answer those questions? I kind of doubt it in this political climate.

He can only see right vs left paradigm. He doesn't get that getting the big systemic items right is the only way a political solution is viable. I've supported some really shitty people in my life too and if more people knew what I did for a living they would probably hate my guts without knowing that I'm trying to be one of the ones who teaches change. Maybe RFK has seen some light and maybe not. Yeah...both Trump and RFK Jr. have cozied up to the big idiots. Sure it's a reason to be skeptical, but it's not the only thing. The difference for me between RFK and Trump is that Trump has a 4 year record of not keeping promises.
