That might be the case but not without the city benefiting. Zoning laws restrict the type of house so there will need to be hearings, fees, and variances in order to change the zoning. Then neighbors will have a chance to object but that will be like anything else. The sleazy palm greasing tycoon that knows all the politicians will be able to do anything they want but the simple citizen that wants to convert his 7000 square foot place into a 4 plex will be restricted by zoning laws and turned down.

I am all for letting people live the way they choose. But I think it is a sin to bring up children to be fat or obese and have no reasoning skills. Regardless of socioeconomic conditions, it is cheaper and healthier to prepare home cooked meals from scratch. I cook for 5 adults every day and for around $20-$30 we have enough food for 15 meals. My wife and I ate out the other evening. We went to a Thai place. We had two entrees and two appetizers and only drank water. With tax and tip it cost $66. My son and I went to Wayback hamburger for the first time in 10 years. We drank water. I got a double cheeseburger with cheese and a fry he got a chicken sandwich with fries. It cost $28. Screw that! The hamburger was pretty good. The Thai food was sub-par. The food I cook is delicious. I have no desire to eat out. Lately for desert we have been making smoothies. We bought a Ninja large blender/food processor gadget. I put in two ripe bananas, some whole yogurt, frozen mango, frozen strawberries, frozen blueberries, and enough almond milk to allow it to process. Boy is that delicious! I do not consume alcohol. Golly gee if you go to a restaurant and order a drink what is that these days? Probably close to $10. That smoothie is not cheap but it is delicious and nutritious. Coffee at a restaurant is not hovering around $3. Screw that! I buy my beans and grind them. We have this Ninja coffee maker that can make a small or large cup or an entire pot. Nothing we eat comes prepared. How can an illiterate mom and dad teach their children to read? How can parents with zero math skills teach their children math? I had a rental home that I just sold to my son. First floor tenant is clean and great. The end of March I had the second floor tenant vacate. She was obese with 3 kids and a hundred friends that she probably allowed to stay there. This beautiful place that I had sweat over to rebuild years earlier was totally filthy everywhere. Cockroaches that the building never had and ants everywhere. It has taken me two months to get it back in shape. People have no responsibility and do not take care of themselves, their children, or anything that is not theirs. Entitlements breed irresponsible filthy, lazy, dumb, citizens. I am glad I am getting old. The world in my view is not getting better.

I do not think the pandemic fueled a housing boom. I think prior to the pandemic costs of building materials had already soared. That was one of the first things I noticed. OSB went from $8 a sheet to $30 almost overnight. I don't think houses are overvalued based on the costs of goods to build a house or repair one. Interest rates have been at record lows for many years. 2-3% interest was crazy stupid low and it effected real investors from lending. Rates on savings have been in the toilet for probably 20 years. This is not a new or a COVID pandemic problem. This is a pandemic problem of its own that started probably back in the days of Clinton with housing for all. The issue I see the consumer facing is that inflation and higher prices only make the government richer. The value of everything goes up and people pay more sales tax on everything they buy. The value of your home increases and you pay more property tax. The consumers wage cannot keep up with the rising costs. The government beast is never satisfied. Their rhetoric will be they need to raise taxes/mill rates even higher because even though their coffers should be overfilling because they take in double the sales tax they were a year ago because items have doubled in price, their expenses have gone up and they don't ever have enough money to function.

That's a good idea. Men need more birth control options. I don't know why the FDA has gone 30 years without approving vagasel. The most that the sperm donor could expect out of a breach of contract suit in that situation would be to get his money back or whatever else he gave in exchange for the contract. And in most abortions the "sperm donor" doesn't care or may be even encouraging the abortion. If you've got enough money to pay a woman to have a baby for you then you (hopefully) have enough money to pay her to raise the child for you. There are a lot of women happy to accept that arrangement. It's called child support. And this brings us to what's really driving the abortion industry. It's economics. Children used to be an asset. They helped you run the family farm or the family business. If you were too poor to own a farm or a business, at a certain age you could hire them out. They earned their keep. Now, thanks to child labor laws, they are a liability. An increasingly expensive liability. There was no such thing as "child care" expense 100 years ago. Most women worked at home and those who worked outside the home could have friends or relatives raise their kids. Now most women work outside the home and laws in most states require day cares to be licensed.
