Let's talk about the subject of this thread. Black farmers have been the RECENT victim of discrimination in allocation of federal government farm subsidies. Do you think repairing that recent discrimination is wrong?

Edit: I just realized this got passed in the KENTUCKY legislature. Rand's federal bill addressing the issue still hasn't passed. :(

I agree with you about the World War II propaganda when it came to the Japanese. But America wasn't at war with any African countries. In fact we were allied WITH the African country of Ethiopia against Italy. Yet Africans and African Americans were treated as poorly as the Japanese before, during and for a while after both World Wars. I agree with you that there were different cultural norms. I am glad those norms changed. It would be interesting to know the publication dates of the offensive Dr. Seuss books as compared to the Lorax and the Sneeds. Interesting observation of the Sneeds and cancel culture of calling the stars "old fashioned." Certainly there is a cultural aspect going on. The interesting thing is that the "star / no-star" style went in and out of fashion. (Like bell bottoms coming back?) From that perspective The Sneeds could address things other than just race, although I looked at it strictly from a race lens possibly due to my own experience.

That said, I have nothing against anarchists. You can have civilization without what we call government. You also can have government without having corporations. You can't have corporations without government. A corporation is a government charter. It makes zero sense to say that an entity that has been granted a government license should not have an restrictions placed on that license. You don't like those restrictions? Don't take the license. Just be a partnership.

We disagree. Reparations to the Jews from the Germans for what was done to them was proper. Same for Japanese for what happened to them in the internment camps. Same for the reparations the Jews got from Egypt in Exodus. I disagree with the reparations the Hatians had to give the French after their revolution. If the system has STILL been titled towards white farmers, fixing that so that all farmers have access isn't reparations. It's ending discrimination. Unless all farm subsidies were ended except for black farmers, then it's not correct to say this is "stimulus for minority farmers only." Whenever money is pooled and distributed, there is a danger of one group being favored over another. Go back to the Bible and the Book of Acts. The Greeks widows were complaining that the church poor fund was being disproportionately given to the Jewish widows. So...the disciples instituted a church "affirmative action" program where they made sure there were Greek and Jewish deacons to distribute the money.

What's really disappointing to me about this whole subject, from the right or the left, is that there is no nuance. I was thinking about this the other day. There is no way The Silence Of The Lambs could be made today. Remember the villain Buffulo Bill? He had gender dysphoria, was denied a sex change operation, and was killing women to cut off their body parts and make himself a suit. The LGBTQIA community got mad at J.K. Rowling for simply writing a book where the villain, who was not transgender, dressed up as a woman as a disguise which is something that actually happened recently in real life. Also the real life man who inspired Hannibal Lecter was a gay Mexican Doctor. While that wasn't brought out (no pun intended) in the film it is strongly hinted at in the TV show.. So someone could say Hannibal was "straight washed" and "white washed." And imagine if Trump had said "even some of the doctors Mexico is sending over are cannibals."
