So....I went further down the rabbit hole and I updated the original thread but I should have reposted it here. Apparently Tennessee has a law that violating quarantine is a misdemeanor. So....why did they charge this guy with violating quarantine instead of escaping a penal institution? I'm really scratching my head here. Timing is everything. Perception is reality. And the court of public opinion is different from the court of law. Do I expect Kamala to face any legal consequences over this? No. Of course not. Not even any from a legal ethics point of view. But is it possible that there are people on the fence looking for a reason not to vote for her that might be swayed by this? Absolutely. So far there haven't even been any accusations of Haitians eating humans in America. Zero dividing by anything is still zero. But that's the funny thing about racism. It requires people to look at other people in terms of a group identity while allowing their own group the benefit of being individuals.
