Then the neighbourhood will get hit again and again and again. Opportunity comes but once. The problem with the result of this case now is that it would embolden the criminals to be even more brazen and bold with their thieving. Imagine next time a criminal runs out of a building and the neighbours try to chase him, all he has to do now is to run towards them and pick a fight, if they kill him, he dies and the neighbours go to jail but if he succeeds, he would evade the chasers and live another day.

Maybe? the problem is that the vast majority of normal people would not have ran when they saw the neighbour calling the police. In reality and this is true for just about any culture and I would wager to bet that this is innate to humans but running when discovered is a universal sign for guilt. He choose to run not because he was a "jogger" like the media wants you to believe but most likely because he was up to no good that afternoon unlike the kids who were previously in the building. I think the McMicheals deserved some punishment for not following the laws to the letter which then led to someone's death but the charges they convicted them on is excessive in my book.

Come on Jim, Ahmaud just ran out of a building he wasn't supposed to be in, it is very reasonable and rational to believe that the stop had something to do with the trespassing. If they wanted to torture and kill him, they could have hit him with the car until he is hurt, grab him, torture him and then kill him. I believe Ahmaud was very unreasonable with his engagement with the McMicheals and his behaviour is what led directly to his death.

Not even for special occasions and crimes like this? The way I see it, there is no doubt we got the wrong guy in this case and the crime is heinous enough to deserve death. Don't think he could be or there is need for this one to be rehabilitated. I steadfast devotion to principles is amazing and I salute you.

Or don't talk to the cops until you get your story straight. The fact that they talked to the cops without counsel is what doomed them. Even if you think you are 1000% in the right, just shut up until you get your story straight. Also, never say things like "we cornered him like a rat".

Yea right, these sort of judgements only go in one direction.

This is another reason why you don't want to talk to the cops without a lawyer. Saying things like we cornered him like a rat didn't help their case. Ahmaud was a bad guy with a history of robbery and trying to evade arrest. He knew his life wasn't in danger when he went for the gun essentially forcing the McMicheals to shoot him. No way I would have voted to convict them of any charges, especially the guy who filmed the incident. That guy is 10000% not guilty in my book and I don't care what the actual law says
