He died shortly after we discovered bone and lung cancer. I dreaded a discussion about euthanasia, but was so glad we did not. The funny thing is that the vet recommended it when discovering the illnesses. She gave us a quality of life evaluation. It was about this time that Fredo perked up and started prompting my wife and licking her face, as if to say Get me outa here! Well, I think taking him home turned out to be a good decision. We managed him with three medications, which seemingly put him as ease. A 4th medication was discontinued because it was likely causing GI bleeding. We could not detect any signs of significant pain or distress with the other 3 medicines. I don't know much about pain thresholds, but my wife has good instincts. Fredo died Tuesday with us by his side. I knew he was fading and woke my wife, who was dozing on the couch. He took his last breath at 1:15am. I hope this helps anyone who goes through the agony of making a decision about "letting go" of a pet. We had to sort of prompt the vet to increase the medication, since doctors often seem to be on the conservative side (I was really glad to have some old stash in the freezer to tide us over). One of the vets did not have much experience with one of the medications, but it worked out okay. I'd be glad to discuss the medications in this thread or a PM if anyone is going through this. It's not really that expensive and I think the extra care is worth it. Don't know if we will ever get another dog, but I'd like to hear others' experience with this.

Part III Methodius Discourse on the Resurrection par 11 (300 ad) "For," says the Book of Wisdom, "God created man to be immortal, and made him to be an image of His own eternity." Methodius Extracts From the Work on Things Created par 9 (300 ad) But if there are thirteen days in the sight of God from the creation of the world, how can Wisdom say, in the Book of the Son of Sirach: "Who can number the sand of the sea, and the drops of rain, and the days of eternity?" Cyril of Jerusalem Catechetical Lecture 4.33 (315-386 ad) Read the Divine Scriptures, the twenty-two books of the Old Testament, these that have been translated by the Seventy-two Interpreters Cyril of Jerusalem Catechetical Lecture 4.34 (315-386 ad) And when they had fulfilled the task in seventy-two days, he brought together all their translations, which they had made in different chambers without sending them one to another, and found that they agreed not only in the sense but even in words. For the process was no word-craft, nor contrivance of human devices: but the translation of the Divine Scriptures, spoken by the Holy Ghost, was of the Holy Ghost accomplished. To add to this thread, it was during this same time of the Nazi round up of Jews in Greece when the monks of Mount Athos hid Jews within the monasteries to avoid them from being captured. That was the only time in a thousand years when any females were admitted into the Holy Mountain (according to the ancient rule which was introduced forbidding women there, not because women are inferior by any means, for the greatest Christian Saint is a woman and the guardian of Mount Athos (the Virgin Mary), but because it was established to be a place for male monks to seek constant and incessant prayer for the world, undistracted). But during those dark days, the monks risked their lives and security to protect these innocent Jewish women.

Actually, they did. As did Jesus. In Matthew 6:33, Jesus is borrowing from Wisdom Of Solomon 8:7. This should not be a surprise, as Matthew's audience is Jewish-and would've known the literature and regarded it as scripture.

Here is a man who found the truth in the Orthodox Church and joined at great financial risk to himself and with the knowledge that he would be mocked and alienated by long time friends and loved ones for joining. But when a person comes to see the truth, as led by God’s will through the Holy Spirit, than nothing can stop them, even death itself. God bless all those who struggle yet persevere, for it is the Church of the martyrs which demonstrates where the Church of the Saints is, and it is the Orthodox Church which has always been and will always be the Church of the martyrs and the Church of the Saints. May they continue to pray and intercede for us before the Throne of God, and through their prayers, may God have mercy on us.

    2. United States – 10.59 million barrels per day In a disappointment to Americans everywhere, the US sits at second place with production equal to 12% of the total. Because of its high-tech economy and stable investment climate, the US is at the forefront of non-conventional energy extraction including shale oil and tar sands. These types of oil drilling have reshaped the landscape: the Bakken oil development in North Dakota now shines as brightly at night as regional neighbors like Minneapolis-St. Paul and Chicago. In the future, the US appears set to reclaim its mantle as top oil producer from Saudi Arabia as it moves to tap into an estimated 1,442 billion barrels of recoverable oil. In the meantime, the US is forced to import oil from Mexico, Canada, and other sources as its consumption still exceeds production. 1. Saudi Arabia – 11.75 million barrels per day The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia produces a whopping 13.24 percent of all the oil produced daily in the entire world. Considering that they sit on over 260 billion barrels of oil–the second highest total after Venezuela–the fortune of the House of Saud appears secure. Its crown as oil champion, however, is less secure: when accounting for energy production including natural gas and biofuels, Saudi Arabia is already behind the United States. https://financesonline.com/top-10-oil-producing-countries-in-the-world-wheres-the-greatest-petroleum-dominion/

Including the Duetero canon, btw. God is absolutely revealed in that literature and it is a shame Protestants don't read it (Jesus and the apostles did). Reading the *whole* bible is very humbling.

A "mythology" is not inherently false. It can be simply a set of stories, traditions, or beliefs associated with a particular group or the history of an event, arising naturally or deliberately fostered. We can call literally all faith traditions "mythologies". I just don't bother to sit around antagonizing other faiths like you do because a) it's a waste of time and b) as the old monastic saying goes "keep your eyes on your own plate".

Title itself is what was put on the Ron Paul Institute site, so Im not trying to change things to create fear, or say Ron Paul is saying something he is not. I just wanted to make that clear.

"Rapture", as it is used in "Left Behind" and most other contexts today, is not only false but heresy. It is not believed by Orthodox, Catholics, or mainline Protestants. http://www.johnsanidopoulos.com/2010/04/rapture-indisputable-christian-heresy.html As AF can attest, Rapture does make for funny cartoons, tho. :D

Hey, check out Men Without Hats S.O.S (ABBA) cover. I love it. I know you appreciate disco so I thought I would call your attention to it. I went to Retro Futura last night and saw them. Really fun show. If they come to your area, go. You will have a blast. Mr A doesn't care for that kind of music and he even had fun. I think he was mostly just enjoying making fun of me for liking gay music but still...he had fun.

“Herd Immunity.” The flawed science and failures of mass vaccination

The oft-parroted sound bite – “we need herd immunity”- implies that if ninety five percent of the population can become “immune” to a disease via vaccination, target immunity levels will be met and diseases will either be eradicated or controlled. This sound bite is the most commonly pulled weapon used by the vaccinators, only second to “smallpox and polio were eradicated by vaccination.” “Herd

Amino acids are the components of proteins. These amino acids are strung together like the links on a chain, where they form the proteins that make our bodies work properly. There are a few exceptions to this rule, amino acids that perform their function individually, not as components of proteins.
