Listen, not seeing the Tucker Carlson piece, I did watch the video. The implication was that something happened in Sweden last night. Do I think it's a mis-spoke, yes. Not a big deal. However anyone anti Trump is going to jump all over it pointing out his mistake no matter how trivial. This happened to Obama and every politician in office. The MSM making a big deal when it's nothing more than SNL news worthy.

As much as I love where I live, you can burn, shoot, cut as you see fit. there are setbacks for building, perk tests and requirements for septic systems (some of them being different depending on acreage owned). Nothing, wow.

Got to read this after I posted and makes a lot of sense. Of course there are impacting issues that can arise but I like this as a start. Am guessing works out great till one hold out whether reasonable or not. Soooo zoning laws and the ball starts rolling

The term light pollution has been around for awhile. Funny about the Dollar General. About 6 months ago one went up about 10 miles down the road (I live very rural in PA). I thought to myself why would they put a store way out here? But seeing form the posts it is common. Must be a business plan they see a market in. Funny how the mom and pop one stop store in my village (the only business there) doesn't bother me but the DG does. Now to property rights. Is it ok for my neighbor to sell his farm and someone open an amusement park/chemical factory/waste treatment plant ect. many things can impact a whole community. Do people have the right to put restrictions on usage of property in a community? I believe they do but can't say where that line is drawn. Impacting an area affecting neighbors is a violation of your rights too. But where is the line. My neighbor burning a tire with smell and smoke one day vs burning tires daily. A birthday party with loud noise and music at 1am vs holding regular guitar jams at 3am. I believe property owners have a right to respect from each other and that can be violated. Whether I believe in zoning or not there is a line at some point. Guess I'll know it when I see it. Seriously, are there NO zoning restrictions where you live?

I guess the word "immigrant" is really suppose to be a softer word than "illegal allien". You know, get you conditioned to thinking of immigration as opposed to criminals. I get so confused trying to understand the language... Is immigrant the new Undocumented worker? Are they still illegal immigrants as opposed to illegal aliens? Hard for me to keep up. Maybe this means all (legal) immigrants should stop work for the day. That would make sense to me anyway.

I'm right there with ya for the 100k permit fees. But which is it.. Too much weed driving down the price and driving out mom and pop or 100k permit fees. Maybe it'd both.. Again as long as grower are allowed to grow I'm fine. Liked that craft beer analogue a few post back. Then again there was the thread about taxes fueling the illegal market.. Copperhead road and all.

Ok, in 69 an oz was $20, a gram of hash $10, a key was like $250 as I remember it. Yeah $100 a pound sounds about right. Wow, a long time ago :/ So I'm suppose to worry because the price is dropping and free markets are taking over, meh. They drive out the little guy, price goes up, little guy has a market again. As long as growers are allowed to grow guess I'm fine with that. Seems it was just the other day I was reading about black market pot being cheaper than "legal". Lots of commodities have been subsidized over the years. We see how that's working out, lol. Me, I'm for free markets..

He's lucky he didn't get shot when they asked him to remove his shirt and he reached for the bottom.... Seriously maybe I'm not that aware but do most stops involve removal of a shirt, and by th collar? OMG and her, reaching for her crutch. Looked like a rifle. WTF! another shooting averted... How old were this couple, dunno about everyone else but I'm 64 and bad knees. Can't imagine trying to kneel down with my hands in the air. I'd fall over them thinking I was doing some Kwai Chang Caine /ninja warrior move and get my ass shot.

I operated vending machines at one point in my life. I had a swimming pool account with a snack machine. Through the period of a couple of weeks I started finds junk silver quarters in the coin box, about 10 dollars worth. Figured some kid stole a roll from somewhere to buy candy. If anything of real value would have turned up I would gladly have returned it to its rightful owner if given the opportunity.

Just to jump back into this thread a few thoughts. Understanding Juleswin position and understanding TodEvans position. The purpose of "police" has become blurred. If the police were here to help as opposed to enforce, the relationship between citizen and police would be totally different. It has deteriorated from stopping a drunk and letting him sleep it off to a revenue stream and another feather in some heroes cap. That's why I'm hesitant to call police! It has nothing to do with serving and protecting anyone but themselves and their revenue stream. I don't think about not calling the fire department, EMT's, because these services are here to help (for the time being). Edited to add: calling these services now has a 99percent chance of bring the police along to make sure any infraction can be charged and dealt with.

Juleswin, I posted a honest, viable response to your proposed senerio a while back in this thread. You choose to ignore it and every sensible response to your senerio. Yet you continue to put forth the example you've submitted. Please, call the police every time you see, in your opinion, an infraction of social standards. I will do the same, :(

Juleswin, I appreciate where you're trying to go with this but as others have pointed out your senerio is designed to get the response you desire. Based strictly on your parameters. Now I will try to answer the question in how I see the intent of the question. Each individual situation is a judgement call. If I see a driver swerve I give him a little space and hope he was just tuning his radio, ect. If I see a car weaving in and out of traffic, going the wrong way, going 50 mph over the speed limit throwing beer bottles out the window I call 911. If I see a guy pulled over holding his chest I call 911. Each response I make is calculated of the information at the given time. All that said I believe there is a cost of living in a free society and sometimes bad things happen. That is part of the cost of freedom and I accept it. I always tend to make decisions on the side of liberty. Is there a time I would calll 911, yes. But it is a situational event.

Copies an assault weapon, I always found this language odd. And it never seems to be challenged. Why are semi-automatic weapons considered "assault weapons". They are semi-automatic rifles no different than other rifles. I guess in my simple mind if I go outside and put a big white circle and a number seven on my car doors and plaster it with racing decals is my car now a race car? I mean I can change motor parts to make it faster so is it now not street legal???? Looking like a race car doesn't make it a race car anymore than an AR-15 looking like an assault weapon makes it one.

However, whatever happened there, wow. As a Steeler fan I was lovin' the Pat's getting their asses kicked. There was no way Pat's would come bacck, even kicking an on-side kick in the 3rd qt. But the football gods saw it differently. Atlanta lost that game. so many chances to put it away and they failed like losers. The Patriot's hung in there and took advantage of every opportunity given them and succeeded every time. Everything feel into place... even the coin toss.. Tom Brady, best quarterback of all time, Patroits, best team of all time... What a team effort at the end of that game, bravo! I hate seeing it too...
