The law doesn't look at it that way. And for good reason. There is a HUGE difference developmentally between 14 and 18. Next someone will say "Well 10 is just 3 years younger than 13 so treat the 10 year old like an 18 year old as well." If you can't understand why two young men that set up the premeditated murder of their classmates might be seen as more of a danger to society than a couple of taser carjackers...then you did imply such a thing. Methinks you don't know what the word "accident" means. The carjacking was intentional. The killing was an accident.

I was pointing out that 18 is the magic number. The white street racer who got hard time at 18 is in the same category as the black woman street racer who is facing hard time as both are over 18. If Matt Gaetz did get with a 17 year old he as under the magic number. That said, apparently his buddy, that took $900 from Matt and distributed to 3 different women under dubious circumstances, has pleaded to trafficking of a woman under 18. Same woman? Seems quite possible at this point.

LOL. I will say this and leave it. I typically see food trucks parked outside the "no campaign materials past this point" limit at voting time and they give away free fish plates and BBQ. I've picked up a plate from time to time. It had no effect on my vote. I'm sorry, but I just don't see the case that somehow my vote could be swayed it I got a bottle of water closer to the voting booth. As long as nobody is in the booth with me they don't know what my vote is. But maybe I'm just special.

Actually, reading this again, what you described would be patently illegal! 1884 "(e) This Code section shall not be construed to prohibit a poll officer from distributing 1885 materials, as required by law, which are necessary for the purpose of instructing electors 1886 or from distributing materials prepared by the Secretary of State which are designed solely 1887 for the purpose of encouraging voter participation in the election being conducted or from 1888 making available self-service water from an unattended receptacle to an elector waiting in 1889 line to vote." Boy Scouts are not "poll workers." So, why should only "poll workers" be allowed to provide water within 149 feet of a poling place? Note that the way the law is written, even a poll worker can't hand a bottle of water to someone. He or she can hand you a pen or pencil or a ballot or an "I voted" sticker. But, for some yet to be explained reason, if someone hands you a bottle of water, rather than letting you pick it up yourself, that somehow places the validity of the election in jeopardy? Seriously? And if the poll workers at a particular location neglect to provide for the water needs of people who may be waiting in line for a couple of hours by putting water in an "unattended receptacle" and some well wisher decides to help solve the problem....well that's somehow an election violation? Somehow that's a "bribe?"

When you said "ICE vehicles" I immediately thought "Immigration and Customs Enforcement" and was like "What does immigration have to do with this story?" Then I realized you ICE in this context is "internal combustion engine." And yeah....I see the connection...but only because in the video they are using a Tesla to drive in the tunnel. But, someone correct me if I'm wrong here, ICE vehicles would still be allowed in the tunnel right? But yeah...they are trying to sell this as environmentally friendly. I wonder what was the carbon footprint it took to put a Tesla Roadster into orbit?

The definition of a bribe is something that you pay in exchange for something else. So please explain how handing someone a bottle of water 149 feet away from a polling place in any way constitutes a bribe. I already answered the "how can this be construed as racism" question. I'll happily answer it again, once you explain your "a bottle of water = a bribe even when nothing has been exchanged and the vote is still secret" rationale.

And she was actually threatened by the FBI. Told that if she wouldn't cop to the fact that somehow I was involved in some "pay for play" scheme that she could face trouble. And so I do believe there are people at the DOJ who are trying to smear me. Providing for flights and hotel rooms for people that you are dating that are of legal age is not a crime. Okay. So your reasoning for why one of those Boy Scouts handing a bottle of water to someone 149 feet away from a poll being a problem is what exactly? I thought the "liberty" crowd was against laws that served no actual purpose.

So in your mind....if a Boy Scout troop decides to pass out water to people waiting in line for hours at a polling station, that's somehow "voter corruption?" Seriously? Hey...we gotta have the taxpayers do it because it private people do it then it MUST be corrupt. Ummm....okay. Sorry but I don't buy that. What appears racist is a stupid law that doesn't address ANY issue actually brou$ght up in the past campaign but might negatively affect people for no apparent reason. "Oh those republicans are just mad because so many black people in Georgia voted so they want to suppress the vote." That's the narrative. And stupid, pointless laws, like prohibiting ANYBODY who isn't a "gubmint official" from giving some old lady in line a bottle of water project the appearance of voter suppression. So does cutting down on the amount of days for early voting or the time window for getting an absentee ballot. Yes we want there to be integrity in the elections. We want to make sure nobody is taking votes out of unsecure absentee drop boxes or vote harvesting or filling out an absentee ballot on behalf of someone else who might not have even applied for one. Or...corrupt voting machines. Address the actual problems that were brought up instead of inventing problems to address. Edit: But prove me wrong. Find me one story from 2020 where anybody claimed votes were swayed by bottles of water being passed out to people waiting in line. Edit 2: And let's look at this logically. If I'm in line and you hand me a box of ammo or a $200 pair of sneakers to vote for candidate X...how exactly are you going to make sure I vote for candidate X? This Georgia law does not abolish absentee voting. If people really want to bribe people for votes then this law does nothing to stop that because the only way I can know who you voted for is if you absentee vote and I watch you fill the ballot out. Since your home is likely more than 150 feet away from a polling place, even under this law I can give you all of the bottles of water, whiskey or wine I want to watch you bubble in my favorite candidate. So.....?

    A) I didn't say it was racist, I said it was put in to APPEAR racist. B) I read the actual law. It does prohibit the distribution of "food or drink" within 150 feet of the polling place. See: https://static.foxnews.com/foxnews.com/content/uploads/2021/04/Georgia-election-law-SB-202.pdf lines 1868 - 1899. C) The question to ask yourself is....why? What does that actually help? Do you REALLY think that is someone who is not an official poll worker hands someone a bottle of water inside a polling place that somehow that will sway someone's vote? Seriously? And so if I hand someone a full chicken sandwich and lemonade at 151 feet away from the polling place that doesn't affect their vote, but magically at 149 feet a bottle of water does? D) The "Well other states have that so it must be okay" argument doesn't fly with me. Some states have red flag laws too.

I would put them in an alternative school until they turned 18. Possibly a boarding school, especially if their home life is screwed up. I've have tried over the years to help troubled youths. The first set had a decent mom, but the middle school they went to was HORRIBLE! Seriously the black female principal over the school hated black boys. And the entire school was overrun by gangs. One of the boys had gotten suspended and I asked his mom why she wasn't having him keep up with his work. She said the school wouldn't let him take his books home. I thought "You just don't know how to ask right" and since I had a degree I thought I knew better. The male vice principal, an African, was happy I was "taking an interest in the young man" and gave me the books. I was almost out the door when the witch ran into me. She was all "You don't know him! He's a thug and just wants to be a thug and will always be a thug." He had NOT been any problem before going to her school! Needless to say she didn't let me take the books home. Later he got suspended again and put into an alternative school. HE STARTED MAKING STRAIGHT A'S! He was away from the witch principal and his gang friends. I was like LEAVE HIM THERE! Instead he got put back in the evil woman's school, and later ended up in real trouble with the law. He's doing okay now. More recently, I had some homeless kids staying with me. ALL of their parents were pretty much worthless. Well...one of the dads I think was decent. The moms were worthless. One mother stole from her own daughter. I kept them out of trouble as best I could, making them return items they shoplifted for example. Eventually I helped them find other places to stay, find jobs, and made sure they kept up with their distance learning. (Much of this was during COVID). Sadly one of the young men got caught up in a carjacking ring. Thankfully nobody got killed. He's now at a military style boarding school. Hopefully he will remain there until he graduates and he'll learn a marketable skill. And why was he carjacking? To get cash to repay his brother for a cell phone and help his girlfriend with rent. A contractor had been depending on him to do work and would have given him a cash advance if he had asked. And his brother could have waited on the money. But these kids have grown up with almost NO guidance. It's sad really. But it's a fixable problem.

Nobody has ever answered this one question. Why is it ever appropriate to do research on how to make a virus more contagious and deadly to humans? That's the question I have had since I first learned back in early 2020 about how back in 2016 there was a warning that this research was dangerous. I have a different theory on the Georgia voting law. There is no valid reason to put things in the law like blocking the distribution of water. I think the GOP put that in there to MAKE the law look racist. Look at what did NOT get addressed which is the voting machines. Georgia voting machines were scrubbed in 2017 after they were believed to have helped republicans. https://apnews.com/article/877ee1015f1c43f1965f63538b035d3f Then again in 2020 after they were believed to help Biden beat Trump. https://www.politico.com/news/2020/11/30/judge-freezes-voting-machines-georgia-counties-441342 The same republicans were in charge both times. So they threw their base some red meat (no pun intended). They passed a law with some sensible things in it (ID verification of absentee ballots and limiting absentee ballot collection boxes), and put in some nonsense (the water ban) and never addressed issues that pointed back at themselves.

Okay. Still an adult. I'm sure you understand the huge difference between 14 and 18. Matt Goetz apparently does not. So....let me see if I understand. You think there is some equivalence between the premeditated murder of children and a carjacking gone bad? I keep seeing people put "accident" in quotes. That's bvllshyt. The death of the driver was an accident. The carjacking was premeditated but the girls didn't intend to kill anyone. They weren't sociopaths. Involuntary confinement of minors is based on the need to protect the minors and society. Do you really think you are in as much danger from stupid carjackers as you are from someone who sets up a kill zone for other children? Seriously?

Ummmmm...Captain Obvious says street racer was 24 and taser car jackers were 13 and 14! Maybe some of y'all are too young to remember the two white kids that did the mass school shooting in Arkansas and were both due to be released when they turned 21? We're talking premeditated murder. (No. A carjacking gone bad is not premeditated murder, though it can be charged as felony murder.) But they didn't make a mistake. They planned out out the murders of their classmates and teachers in advance. See: https://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/a-school-shooting-in-jonesboro-arkansas-kills-five If you want to compare apples to apples, black adult street racer who accidentally killed someone versus white adult street racer who accidentally killed someone, consider the case of Carmesia Flanagan. And yes, she was charged with murder.

Quietness unto
The clandestineness havoc
Approaching without kindness nor cause
Visions within, seizing and stilled
Moments throughout ennoble
Those myriads of many
Responders serve timely and just
Their tact turned heroically fable
With lives lorn and lost, beneath imploring ash
Pith be the corps; newly banded, now entrenched
Tasking singly endured, for if a gloam more
Hopefulness
