They must have a short list of candidates already. I seriously doubt they're going to wait until there is a vacancy to start thinking about who can fill it.

his page was created in response to a question I brought up when discussing the Supreme Court with a friend. We were commiserating over our dislike for a particular justice and I wondered, "How much longer will he be on the court?" Knowing that justices are appointed for life, I figured we were stuck with him until he keeled over. I looked up his birthdate and punched it into the Social Security Administration Life Expectancy Calculator and got my answer. Granted, it's a very rough approximation, and most people will retire before they actually are knocking on death's door, but it gave me a bit of an idea of how much longer he would be hanging around SCOTUS. I then figured, there must be other people like me, who want to know how long a particular justice will be sitting on the bench (statistically speaking). I give you, the SCOTUS Deathwatch! All sitting justices are listed here. Each justices' birthdate is used to determine their actuarial life expectancy using the SSA caculator. Now if a particular SCOTUS decision rubs you the wrong way, and you want to know when the court may change its leaning, you have one handy web page that will give you an idea when a justice's time is up! http://scotusdeathwatch.com/

Might be easier to just list what they can't do instead. I'm curious, what can't they do? Not asking what they're NOT suppose to do v/s what they actually do.

Subject to requirements that the president consult with and report periodically to Congress, IEEPA authorizes the president "to deal with any unusual and extraordinary threat, which has its source in whole or substantial part outside the United States, to the national security, foreign policy, or economy of the United States, if the president declares a national emergency with respect to such threat." Under this authority the president may "investigate, regulate, or prohibit any transaction in foreign exchange," and "investigate, regulate, direct and compel, nullify, void, prevent or prohibit, any ... exportation of ... any property in which any foreign country or a foreign national thereof has any interest." IEEPA gives the president broad authority over financial transactions and property in which any foreign country, any citizen or national of a foreign country, or any other person aiding the foreign country, has any interest, provided that the president first declares a national emergency under the act.

Some point of reference: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Emergencies_Act The National Emergencies Act (NEA) (Pub.L. 94–412, 90 Stat. 1255, enacted September 14, 1976, codified at 50 U.S.C. § 1601–1651) is a United States federal law passed to end all previous national emergencies and to formalize the emergency powers of the President. The Act empowers the President to activate special powers during a crisis but imposes certain procedural formalities when invoking such powers. The perceived need for the law arose from the scope and number of laws granting special powers to the executive in times of national emergency. Congress can terminate an emergency declaration with a joint resolution signed into law. Powers available under this Act are limited to the 136 emergency powers Congress has defined by law. The legislation was signed by President Gerald Ford on September 14, 1976. As of February 2019, 59 national emergencies have been declared, more than 30 of which remain in effect. Emergency powers

Pauls' Revere replied to a thread Joe Walsh in Open Discussion
https://nypost.com/2019/08/22/conservative-radio-host-joe-walsh-may-run-against-trump/ Joe Walsh, a conservative radio host who served one term as an Illinois congressman, is inching toward challenging President Trump in a Republican primary. “I’m strongly, strongly considering it. That’s — again, I’m not trying to be cute or coy. I’ve told you before — if somebody’s going to get in there and go after him … it’s got to be done soon,” Walsh, 57, said Thursday on CNN.

Yes, two valid options certainly. I would also add this. +) Canada, USA & Mexico merge into one country. U.A. (United Americas) as the EU is to Europe.

So what are our options? 1) Secession - As you stated, plus a 2/3 majority and all the political wrangling that comes with that. Zero chance of it happening. 2) Start a third party - Possible, but a lot of work and effort there too. Almost impossible to start one and be significant enough to make an impact. 3) Elect freedom candidates - Certainly more plausible, such as Rep. Massie. This requires public education and more. How popular is freedom? 4) Introduce a bill - Plausible, start a constitutional amendment to implement a Parliamentary System. Lots of turmoil here (Brexit) 5) Active revolt - Seriously, it will be squashed when f-16's fly overhead and let lose. 6) Run for office - You do you. Please add more...This is all I got right now.

Until someone somewhere secedes to go it alone and at least points the way for other states to do the same so maybe there might be one that fits close to what I like, I'm kinda stuck with this, as much as I don't like it, and I vote Third party.

I have to give a huge + rep. Today I busted out laughing so hard I cried tears. I imagined this scene being played out if Marianne was president giving a speech at the UN. SUDDENLY! a delegate from some country wails loudly! as everyone stands around and does nothing. Just imagine, she's on the UN podium healing the planet for all the wrongs that occurred throughout history everywhere and someone from another country wails out loud. :D
