Pauls' Revere replied to a thread Mexico. in World News & Affairs
Witness in the trial of El Chapo states former Mexican President Pena Nieto received 100 million dollar bribe. https://www.nytimes.com/2019/01/15/nyregion/el-chapo-trial.html Mr. Guzmán’s testimony would be a stunning development. While his lieutenants have shared details about the Sinaloa cartel’s operations, the kingpin himself could offer even more intimate information, such as how he possibly bribed a president of Mexico. According to Mr. Cifuentes, Mr. Peña Nieto first reached out to Mr. Guzmán about the time he was elected president in late 2012, asking the drug lord for $250 million in exchange for calling off a nationwide manhunt for him. But Mr. Guzmán made a counteroffer, Mr. Cifuentes added, saying he would give Mr. Peña Nieto only $100 million.

The legislation is being headed by Gender Equality Minister Marlene Schiappa and is set to be the next step in tackling sexist attitudes and harassment public places. Men will be fined for catcalling or other lewd behaviour towards women in public under the new harassment policy, which is set to be passed next year.

hears how I see it. I don't want criminals to run around in the society where I live. Be they citizens or not. Every country on the planet locks up criminals within their borders. So, why would ANY country want/accept criminals from any other country? Its the bad apples in the apple cart nobody wants. Seriously, if I can go through a 10 day background check to own a firearm why is the immigration process so long? Why not do a background check, quick physical for gnarly communicable diseases like Ebola and grant citizenship. Put up a wall/barrier/Kinetic Border impediment device for those that try to bypass this. Additionally, demolish the welfare system.

We've discussed the migration of folks from California transplanting to other states and the political ideological migration that comes with it. Gavin Newsom has now stated that this will become reality or is at least his agenda. I think this is more than just rhetoric to whip up the base. I think this is truely the overall plan. https://losangeles.cbslocal.com/2019/01/07/gavin-newsom-california-governor-2/ While he avoided referencing Trump by name, Newsom referred to the administration as corrupt and incompetent and promised California will “write America’s future.” Trump should have let California secede. p.s. Also, California primaries have now been pushed forward.

https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/alexandria-ocasio-cortez-fox-guest-232952097.html Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez responded Saturday to GOP strategist Ed Rollins’ reference to her as “little girl” during an appearance on Fox Business Friday, calling his characterization of her “misogyny” that should be taxed. “GOP loves to insult my intelligence, yet offers *this* as their best + most seasoned opposition to my policy proposals. If anything, this dude is a walking argument to tax misogyny at 100%,” she said in a tweet. “Republicans rob everyone the opportunity of real policy debate by resorting to this.” During a guest appearance with host Lou Dobbs on Friday, Rollins dismissed Rep. Ocasio-Cortez as a “little girl” over her remarks to “60 Minutes” this week that top earners should be taxed up to 70 percent. https://www.cato.org/publications/commentary/how-fdrs-new-deal-harmed-millions-poor-people Democratic presidential candidates as well as some conservative intellectuals, are suggesting that Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s New Deal is a good model for government policy today. Mounting evidence, however, makes clear that poor people were principal victims of the New Deal. The evidence has been developed by dozens of economists — including two Nobel Prize winners — at Brown, Columbia, Princeton, Johns Hopkins, the University of California (Berkeley) and University of Chicago, among other universities. New Deal programs were financed by tripling federal taxes from $1.6 billion in 1933 to $5.3 billion in 1940. Excise taxes, personal income taxes, inheritance taxes, corporate income taxes, holding company taxes and so-called “excess profits” taxes all went up. New Deal taxes were major job destroyers during the 1930s, prolonging unemployment that averaged 17%. Higher business taxes meant that employers had less money for growth and jobs. Social Security excise taxes on payrolls made it more expensive for employers to hire people, which discouraged hiring.

Jack was represented by a skull and crossbones flag while his specially designed wedding ring was placed on a candle as his could not present a hand on which it could be placed. He also gave his vows with the help of a medium while a Shaman priest presided over the marriage.

On the other hand it may push for secession or simply split this country up (peacefully) between Red and Blue. Once people see the lack of representation they have (rural) and those that want the popular vote (urban).

Exactly, only they will find a way to divert their income somewhere else. She should be calling for a 70% flat tax on all income regardless. Corporate or personal, thus removing the incentive to work at all and drive us into a socialized hell. Corporations will move overseas, and the middle class will be stuck with this 70% bullshit. A giant sucking sound as Ross Perot once said.
