imo it is clearly a geo-political chess move... and a very clever one. They could just declare the intention (and have Rosatom build it) instead They put it out for bid (w/ France a likely candidate to construct) The 'world' sees it as open and transparent rather than Russia!Russia!Russia! pre-emptively thwarting the Atlanticists (and Israel) obvious/expected attempts to demonize it. Smart thinking imo.

Glad the FBI are sitting on a trove of white-collar crimes, capriciously handing out charges to sports dudes. We've got to end this culture of corruption at the source: the FBI NCAA.

I agree with Liu, let the processes of economic integration return and take their natural course. Trump and the Neocons are too eager to turn Korea into Trumplandia. The ROK better get real; the USG don't serve them. They have more to lose than anybody, by letting the Neocons unite Korea on Trotskyist terms.

Does Rowe still reside in Kentucky? If so, he could turn his Mike towards Mitch McConnell and destroy that turtle-looking obscenity. Then we'll have a whopping 4 Liberty-oriented Senators. That way, when Ragnar becomes President, they can work at destroying AIPAC, destroying the Warfare-Welfare panopticon, rein in the budget, and generally promote state and personal sovereignty matters. (First we've got to find Ragnar's skull and naturalize him... then we need a seer. Maybe we should forget about Ragnar.)

View: Jobs are Modi's central mission, and he's failing. Read howBloomberg| Updated: May 26, 2017, 06.43 PM IST 101101Comments Modi seems to realise that he hasn’t moved swiftly enough to create jobs, which could cost him when he runs for re-election in 2019. By Mihir Sharma Three years ago, Narendra Modi was sworn in as prime minister of the Republic of India amid much hope and tremendous expectation. A good portion of the population remains optimistic that he’ll fulfill his promises to unshackle the Indian economy. But Modi’s tenure cannot yet be judged a success for one central reason: He’s signally failed to create jobs for the desperate young people who gave him his massive mandate.

I think it was a few months or a year after Emperor Maximilian rejected General Sterling Price's regiment that Maxi was booted and Mexico became for the Mexicans. I wonder what would have become of Price and his men, if Maxi had taken his offer. Would he have saved the Habsburg throne? Would he have fled south, or into the mountains? Joined the new regime? ... come back to the US anyway?

'Open Skies' Squabble: US To Restrict Russian Military Flights Over American Territory http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-09-26/us-seeks-curb-russian-military-flights-over-american-soil (you can read about the new 'squabble' FWIW) BACKGROUND The Open Skies Treaty, initially conceived during the Eisenhower Administration, ultimately ratified in 1992, before going into effect in 2002, has enabled more than 1,200 flights meant to help verify that signatories are in compliance with arms control agreements, according to the US Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA). Of course, as we noted last month, it is unclear what if anything spy planes can glean from the flights that the Russians (and the US) couldn’t already learn from spy satellites overhead, especially since anything of value would have been hidden well in advance of the pre-telegraphed flight. To be sure, Pentagon officials cite the value of the treaty, chiefly the fact that imagery captured on the flights is shared among treaty states and also with the public, imposing a level of transparency that is rare in the murky world of counterintelligence operations. Tellingly, in March 2014, the US used Open Skies imagery to counter Russia’s claim that it wasn’t engaged in a military buildup along the Ukrainian border.

So if mankind will make tribes, fiefdoms, or self-govern what-have-you, then the State vs Chaos dilemma is false. There's chaos within States, and inflicted by them, enough to go around for generations. The State isn't magically inevitable, it doesn't protect our personal Liberty, and all its amounted to, after 400 years trying, is a clusterfuck bigger than any previously tried. So this one's for anybody who's read this far: what's wrong with libertarians living parallel to, but as far from within, the State as they can get? Anarchy doesn't have to mean chaos if you're living self-governed as best you can. It doesn't necessarily mean balaclava and molotovs, if the libertarian has taken the appropriate actions towards anarchic, sovereign living. The op might ask instead, "should libertarians support open warfare with the State?" Do we need to review what happens, when people go to war with the FBI? They lose. Always.

Nations aren't governments by any definition. Nation-States are nations with a state government. That still leaves you explaining why it is States are inevitable, when they're not. They have to be fought for, won, and kept or they don't happen. I know founding myths like to romanticize the State's conquest of a Nation, but the magic ain't how they come to be.

Why do you believe States are inevitable? In who's interest is it to tell you that, because States are magically inevitable, therefore we need them now? Is mankind on some sort of progressive trajectory? Is the Inevitable State going to perfect us? History attests that States are not inevitable, that they've had to be fought and won for. Keeping in mind States =/= Nations, Nations corrode as the rule of the State centralizes.

What if I told you that the State does not protect Life or Liberty from enemies foreign or domestic? Yeah, that's what an opinion bloc are, they're often movements or trusts colonized by opportunists. Once they gain the audience's attention, they build brand loyalty, then their editors cut out the old guard. That's how the Trotskyists used NatRev and such to gag the Conservatives.

Not the State? I hope you don't mean Liberty of the State, because then you have no grounds to complain. They are the AltRight, started opinion bloc'ing ~10 ago as the AlternativeRight.

So if the simple facts of libertarianism need to conform to a definite position, assuming these simple facts aren't capriciously chosen by a mob or an elite as the wind blows, what's the bedrock identity libertarians need to share: the Nation or the State? Which one's the most resilient heritage to found a libertarian identity upon? You've established it isn't the individual, and that we don't owe loyalty to fiefdoms like NatRev. Here's what I mean: https://www.usip.org/glossary/state-versus-nation Try AltRight.com they must have switched domains after 2011. New brand, same bs.
