LIFESKILL 1-HAVING PHONE REPAIRED. TOTAL PITA. IT STOPPED RINGING COMPLETELY-IT WOULD JUST BUZZ/VIBRATE WHEN PEOPLE CALL ME. :P SO I HAD TO GO ALL THE WAY TO THE WEST SIDE TO HAVE IT FIXED. WHICH LEADS TO LIFESKILL #2-DEALING WITH THE SHITTY BUS SYSTEM AND THE PHONE APP THEY USE. IT'S SO AWFUL. THE DRIVERS ARE CHRONICALLY UNABLE TO BE ON SCHEDULE AND THE APP IS SO BADLY DONE IT'S CONSTANTLY LEADING ME TO THE WRONG PLACES. :P #KURWA LIFESKILL #3-CONTINUING TO PREPARE FOR BLS EXAM. WHO KNOWS? I MAY WIND UP USING THIS STUFF TO SAVE ONE OF Y'ALL'S LIVES ONE DAY. I MAY EVEN HAVE TO GIVE Suzanimal CPR/MOUTH-TO-MOUTH RECUSITATION.

Just feeling indecisive about it, and I wanted to give these folks a decent chance at me. But I'm feeling pretty irked nao :monocle:, thus I've already found several other similar places to apply. I reckon I'll have some applications out by the end of the night.

Monday I interviewed for a quite good job. The interviewer was very nice and seemed to like me and my qualifications and whatnot. But still no word yay or nay. :bang: Should I start applying and interviewing elsewhere in the meantime, y'all think? I've spotted some other impressive looking openings the last couple days, and I'm-a getting tired of waiting for an offer. :P #kurwa

LOLOL :D Dumbasses. They ought to work on more practical lifeskills like cover letters, resumes, networking IRL, interviewing, etc. Webbernet job profiles are one of the least effective ways to job-hunt anyhoo. (assuming one expects to just throw the profile on the webbernets and get a bunch of offers) Those sites are only useful if you use your jobhunting #lifeskills, which implies a lot of work-same as old-fashioned classifieds.

That's incorrect, sir. Things are valuable because people perceive them to be (that is, impute value to them). Please read up on the Austrian Theory of Value. The Labor Theory of Value is outdated and more wishful thinking than a solid theory nao. Labor is one of several factors in production, however-like land, etc. (since the labor of checkout isn't part of production, this is a moot point, but you get my drift)

Ya got some good points, bro. But we have on our hands *more* crony capitalism than outright pure Fascism. Murica's still a generation or so away from being conditioned to be ready for pure fascism with propaganda in media and miseducation in the skools/universities.

KURWA! IS OF OUTRAGE!") I assure you that business firms do not exist *just* to employ people. They exist to provide products/services to customers. #austrianeconFTW

Well, the point of automating the machines never really was to lower prices in itself. ATM, it's just a "compliment" to human checkers. IDK why you'd think using them is a threat to human workers. The robots simply serve people with different subjective value scales than those who would rather wait in line. I've used self-checkout when the registers are over-crowded and I value my time more than human service. THAT SAID...in an environment when the regime forces the minimum wage up ridiculously high, we can reasonably expect employers to replace at least *some* low-skill/unskilled labor with machines. #kurwa

Yeah, nobody has a problem with the general concept. Western boxers and Muay Thai fighters drill combinations in shadow boxing. The problem with the far Eastern equivalent is the over-emphasis on artsy-ness and how too many teachers fill students' heads with kata knowledge without drilling bunkai/oyo and doing lots of practical sparring. It's dance in pajamas. Certainly a good base though, as you say. Lyoto Machida did karate before cross-training in practical styles, as have many others. ETA: Just watched your video-rather reminds me of ni tanbo sparring, but simpler. :) Cool.

Doesn't follow. There are time limits in ball sports as well. There's only so much time in any given evening for any sport. Putting time limits on it doesn't remove objectivity at all. It's practical to remove time limits in something like Daytona 500, but that's a different beast. (In the early days of UFC when the Gracies owned it, there were no rounds, btw. It didn't add any more objectivity. Check it out for yourself.)

East Asian martial arts katas (forms) like those in the video are definitely art (with martial application). I have a couple medals in kata. Other than that, martial arts are basically divided into sport/combat/self-defense. Martial sports (unless there's something obscure I've never heard of) are legit sport. At Shinkendo(a Japanese sword art) tournaments, they even have cutting contests-whoever cuts the most tatami wins.(among other events) #sport #Tameshagiri Example:

O rlly? What about sports like basketball where bad calls by refs change the entire game? By your reasoning those aren't sports. :flushed:

I am well aware of the demands of dance. I am a dancer(ballet and modern). I also know that it is art, not sport-per the post you quoted and apparently didn't comprehend. Cheerleading is also very demanding. I never said otherwise. Still an art, not a sport-per the post you quoted.

Same with cheerleading and dancing though, so I'm surprised you consider them "sports". IMO, the distinguishing characteristic of a sport is that the winner can be determined objectively in a contest of physical skill idiomatic to the specific sport. Take, for example, your choice of figure skating. It has no objective measure of "win"-it's an art, not a sport.
