"If a politician isn’t perfectly comfortable with the idea of his average constituent, any man, woman, or responsible child, walking into a hardware store and paying cash—for any rifle, shotgun, handgun, machinegun, anything—without producing ID or signing one scrap of paper, he isn’t your friend no matter what he tells you. If he isn’t genuinely enthusiastic about his average constituent stuffing that weapon into a purse or pocket or tucking it under a coat and walking home without asking anybody’s permission, he’s a four-flusher, no matter what he claims. What his attitude—toward your ownership and use of weapons—conveys is his real attitude about you. And if he doesn’t trust you, then why in the name of John Moses Browning should you trust him?" Good point although I never trust politicians, period.

You know, I know a LOT of "purists" and not a single one of them would object to this. NOT ONE. On the other hand, I've met very few realists/pragmatists who don't immediately resort to denigrating "purists" as "Utopian dreamers" who need to "wake up to reality and get with the program" when the "purist" objects to anything the realist advocates or anyone they support on moral or principled grounds. I've also met very few realists/pragmatists who don't also regularly blame "purists" for the lack of progress toward liberty, and wish they'd just STFU or leave, or both. Interesting.

"IF it is bad"? There is no possible statement that Trump is even remotely likely to make that is anything but bad. But you know that already.

I saw them in 1979. The headline act was REO Speedwagon. Opening for REO were the Rockets, the Cars, Ian Hunter and Head East. Great show. Sad news.

For your continued edification: Then there's the ending of almost 25 year's worth of forward momentum and handing thevinitiative over to the gun grabbers that you yourself have acknowledged. There's more than enough reason to take this very seriously provided by Trump himself.

Justin Amash gets right to the point: https://twitter.com/justinamash/status/1173408896406425600 1173408896406425600 With Trump, there is always an old tweet: https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/506198852933013504 506198852933013504 Of course, it's quite possible that his family WILL make an absolute fortune off this, so perhaps it's not so ironic after all.

Good thing his war mongering National Security Adviser was fired. So who, exactly, is the US "locked and loaded" to attack now? Yemen? Iran? Is Pompeo the true neo-con in his administration? He also says he is no longer willing to meet with Iran- contradicting Pompeo just last week. 1173371482812162048 https://www.courthousenews.com/pompeo-says-trump-willing-to-meet-with-president-of-iran-at-the-u-n/

Didn't get to see the game but sounds like a wild finish (including a time-out with less than one quarter of a second left?) and lots of penalties at bad times (aren't they all)?- Garett Bolles had five holding penalties (two declined, one charged to another player). Total ten penalties for 81 yards. Denver needs to work on fundamentals. At the Packers next week. Saints not looking good- guess Brees went out with an injury (throwing hand- first quarter- having it looked at later this week). Ben Roethlisberger left Steeler's game with an elbow injury.

I agree that presidents get both too much credit and too much blame for the economy. Luck can play a huge part. Trump has benefited from moves made to shore up the economy long before he took office. He entered during a period of strong economic growth. Obama entered during one of the worst recessions in decades. The post- recession gains are now shrinking.

Ah, displaying precisely the level of class and good manners I've come to expect from you. Thank you for not disappointing. As far as insults go, your initial offering in this thread, portraying those of us who are concerned over current trends towards victim disarmament as Chicken Littles and flat out calling us "hater" couldn't possibly have been meant as an insult now, could it? What goes around comes around Scooter.

Oh bullshit. The time for "wait and see" is long, LONG past.Trump has already made his intentions quite clear through his previous actions and there's no credible reason to believe anything has changed in that regard. He's banned an entire class of firearms accessories via executive fiat. This banned not only bump stocks but the HellFire device along with several similar devices. Now, thanks to Trump, a gun owner who bought a HellFire 15 or 20 years ago and tried it temporarily but decided he didn't like it so he took it off his rifle and tossed it in a box to be promptly forgotten about could now be facing TEN YEARS in prison as the owner of an unregistered machine gun. This is no small thing. ATF has a LONG, sordid history or sending innocent people just like that to federal prison on just such charges. And don't think your rubber band work-around is safe either. "...ATF once issued a letter ruling saying a 14-inch shoestring was a machine gun because it could be used to convert a semi-automatic rifle into an automatic weapon. The letter was later rescinded." https://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/when-a-shoe-string-is-a-machine-gun/ Trump has also explicitly expressed his support for red flag laws, universal background checks, raising the age to buy rifles to 21 and other victim disarmament proposals. No, there's no rational reason to give Trump the benefit of the doubt on Victim disarmament.

  1. You know these random, shooting ******s are murdering for the State. They never target State buildings. They never hit banks, news stations, or broadcasters. They never shoot youtube, twitter, or facebook, unless people aren't watching their vegan, virtue signalling videos. They never walk into military posts and start firing, despite their sometime suicidal disposition. Its all fucked.

AF's (Ass Face) getting all pissy again in the vent and blaming me for some shit. Doesn't he have a life to live? I really honestly cannot sympathize with people that consistently complain about the state of the world and grumble over the fact that everyone else isn't doing the same. If he hates the universe so much for not conforming to his standards that's not my problem.
