I agree that Satan set out from the beginning to stop God's plan. But not through having sex with Eve and fathering Cain, which directly and clearly contradicts a number of scriptures, starting with Genesis 4:1 Adam had relations with his wife Eve, and she conceived, gave birth to Cain and said, “I have gotten a man with the help of the Lord.” I do agree with the angelic interpretation of Genesis 6:4, and in my view that is the way that Satan tried to corrupt mankind. Unlike the serpent seed theory, the angelic interpretation of Genesis 6:4 has a lot of strong, compelling evidence to back it up. I want to say more but I actually have to go right now to do something… But I'll try to come back later.

I like to look at many different versions to compare them. But the ones I use the most are the KJV, ESV and NASB. I believe that all the races came from Noah's three sons. That is what the Bible says. These three were the sons of Noah, and from these the whole earth was populated.Genesis 9:19 There can be a number of reasons why different skin colors and features came about. As far as I've seen, the Bible doesn't say much about that. But why so much focus on race anyway? Especially when God makes it clear that the physical is not what matters.

I'm still trying to figure out why we are even talking about the possibility of them being twins. What's the point? What does that have to do with the Serpent Seed belief?

Yes, here is an excerpt from the Matthew Henry notes. https://www.biblegateway.com/resources/matthew-henry/Gen.4.1-Gen.4.2 So what does it prove if they were twins?

Genesis 4:1 couldn't be more clear. You know a doctrine is false when it directly contradicts clear scriptures and rests solely on adding to the text what is not there. Adam had relations with his wife Eve, and she conceived, gave birth to Cain and said, “I have gotten a man with the help of the Lord.” Pete is right. Look at the fruit of this doctrine. Even though (as I mentioned before) not everyone who believes it is racist, it is usually used by racists to justify racist ideas instead of viewing people as individuals. It also produces a very "us against them" mindset. It puts all the emphasis on the physical, which clearly contradicts other scriptures throughout the Bible. That divisive or hateful bad fruit is more evidence that this doctrine is not from God. This doctrine is a deception.

Yes, that has been my experience too, although I haven't had to go to the doctor much in the last several years. It's so cheap to live there too. When I lived in Mazatlan (for missions) I had a cute two–bedroom apartment directly across the street from the beach for $240 a month. I thought that was a great deal, but I met an expat there who said that was actually expensive compared to some other places he knew about. :p

Respectfully, I think this view is based on misinterpretation as well as adding on to the text what is not there. Genesis 1 and Genesis 2 are written in two completely different styles. Genesis 1 is clearly sequential. It describes what happened on each day, and in my reading of it, it's very clear that Adam was created on the sixth day. 26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” 29 And God said, “See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food. 30 Also, to every beast of the earth, to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food”; and it was so. 31 Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day. (Genesis 1:26–31) Genesis 2 is not written in that sequential style. Also, before I continue I think it should be stated that the Bible was divided up into chapters later, but originally it was not written with chapters and verses. In my view and in the view of others, some of the chapter breaks were poorly placed. Because the beginning of Genesis 2 is actually the end of chapter 1. Unfortunately this can cause confusion, and I think this "eighth day" theory is a perfect example of that.

I've heard the same stats from other sources too. I am totally against illegal immigration, so we are in agreement there. I was just saying that there are lots of countries that are more corrupt than Mexico that no one is talking about... And also to imply that Mexicans in general are the same as the ones who cross the border illegally or come to the US with bad intentions, is simply incorrect. As r3v alluded to, many Hispanic immigrants are very conservative, actually. And love the principles that our country stands for. Of course I'm not talking about the illegals.

Unless I'm reading this wrong… It appears that the total crime rate overall per capita is actually higher in the US than in Mexico: http://www.nationmaster.com/country-info/compare/Mexico/United-States/Crime The homicide rate is higher in Mexico. But I'm pretty sure most of it occurs in Juarez, due to the drug cartels. There is corruption all over the world. In fact, Mexico doesn't even make the top 10 list. I'm not sure how accurate this is, but according to this list they are #91: https://www.ranker.com/list/the-most-corrupt-countries-in-the-world/info-lists

I hope that no one here is judging all Mexicans by the few who who break the law by crossing the border illegally, or the ones involved with drug cartels. That would be similar to judging all Americans by a criminal street gang. I've lived in Mexico for more than seven years, and one of the things I like the most about living in Mexico is the people. In my experience they are very down to earth, respectful, decent people… and very family oriented. But of course people are individuals, and like with any country, you have all types, including good and bad. I'm just sharing my own experience living South of the border. One thing I've noticed is that when you drive in Mexico, at least where I live, people are super courteous and will always let you go first… so different than how it is in the US (in my experience) where people get really nasty on the roads, ha ha. Also, I think I've shared this before, but in all my years living in Mexico, I've been pulled over twice (both times for doing something I shouldn't have done) And both times the cops were super nice and let me go with no ticket. I can't imagine that happening in the US, the way cops are these days.

You believe that the Bible is 99% worthless poo? Not only is that extremely sad, but it doesn't make sense to me coming from a Christian. Don't get me wrong… I believe that God is revealed in a number of ways, not only through scripture. But what is your foundation for Christianity, if you "mostly agree" with osan's rejection of the Bible? No we don't. That directly contradicts a number of scriptures, including: “But you have received the Holy Spirit, and he lives within you, so you don’t need anyone to teach you what is true. For the Spirit teaches you everything you need to know, and what he teaches is true–it is not a lie..” 1 John 2:27

Apparently some racist groups believe that certain races are inferior because they're the "cursed offspring of Cain." To give one example, the so-called "Christian identity" group. From Wikipedia: Christian Identity ("CI") is not an organized religion, instead it is adhered to by individuals, churches and some prison gangs with a white supremacist theology that promotes a racial interpretation of Christianity. Christian Identity beliefs were primarily developed and promoted by two authors who considered Europeans to be the chosen people and Jews to be the cursed offspring of Cain, the "serpent hybrid" (or Serpent seed (a belief known as the two-seedline doctrine). An early Christian Identity teacher, Wesley A. Swift, formulated the doctrine that non-Caucasian peoples have no souls and therefore can never earn God's favor or be saved. The theology was promoted by George Lincoln Rockwell, the founder of the American Nazi Party. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_Identity I also want to make it clear that I know that not everyone who holds this view is racist or anti-semitic.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to pcosmar again. This doctrine not only directly and clearly contradicts Genesis, but it requires a lot of adding to the scriptures what is not there. If I'm not mistaken, Hitler believed in this view, or something similar to it. I'm not saying that as an argument (that would be a logical fallacy) but just to say that it has been used to justify racist or other unbiblical ideas.

Read it in context. The word translated as evil also refers to disaster, calamity, affliction. It is about judgment. Throughout the Old Testament it is clear that God rewards Israel for obedience and punishes Israel for disobedience. Just as good things come from God, 'bad' does at times too, but it is about judgment (or other purposes), not the creation of moral evil in the first place. "I form the light and create darkness, I make peace and create calamity; I, the Lord, do all these things.’" Obviously God doesn't create calamity for no reason... that would be a ridiculous thought. So as always, scripture has to be understood in context and in light of the Bible overall, not cherry picked.

That's pretty much been my position from the start. I hope I'm wrong, but that seems to be the way it works these days. Presidents are more like actors or spokespersons for the PTSB. If they run as a Republican, they pretend to be conservative… But for the most part it's just an act. When I saw how they shut out Ron Paul, I gave up hope on anyone genuine and good actually making it to the presidency.

Exactly... at first glance, it appears cruel that God would allow Satan to do what he did to Job. But again, God allowed it to prove a point. Perhaps our present situation is also to prove a point. Not just to Satan, but perhaps to all who would question the sovereignty of God. Now if one believes in predestination, God would already know how Job was going to react, but wouldn't that be cheating?. Sure looks to me like God gave Job the ability to decide for himself how he would react to the situation and was confident, Job would make the appropriate decisions.

Many of us agree with you that the serpent seed theory is false. I certainly do. But that is different than the idea that the "sons of God" written about in Genesis 6:4 were fallen angelic beings who mated with human women, creating the Nephilim. There are many very compelling reasons to believe that is true, and it was the predominant view for the first 4 or 5 centuries, until the Sethite view came about. To answer your question, the Bible is clear that angels have, at times, taken physical form. Once again, just because we can't completely wrap our minds around an idea doesn't make that idea false. It's the same with the free will so-called paradox – just because you can't understand it doesn't mean it is false, it just means that your finite mind cannot comprehend it, at this time.

Exactly. And this may be a controversial thing to say, but I believe that sort of hard-core Calvinism is more than a mere misinterpretation of Scripture. It's satanic. Who else but the enemy of God (the devil himself) would want to portray the God in such a horrendous way? A diabolical monster Puppeteer, who causes billions of people to do horrible things, then sends them to a fiery hell for doing precisely what he made them do. A twisted, anti-freedom, tyrannical God who is so insecure that he must micromanage everything and disallow free will. Does that sound like God or another spiritual entity we all know about? I think many of us here know the answer to that question. Amen. The ironic thing is that SF has accused a few people here of being misled by a cult, but his belief system has almost all the characteristics of a cult. It certainly warps minds, because hard-core Calvinists throw logic, common sense and their conscience out the window to instead believe horribly twisted ideas, based on cherry-picked scripture.
