The Bill of Rights - the first ten amendments - was supposed to be a list of restrictions unstintingly imposed upon the government by the people. Instead, it has became a list of (revocable) privileges magnanimously granted by the government to the people. I see no reason to think that yet another amendment will be any any different. Given the zeitgeist, quite the opposite. Amash ought to know better ... (and I could not care less for Trump ...)

You're missing the point, Swordsmyth. The fact that Trump is on the wrong side of the Snowden controversy indicates that he's not serious about government transparency, to begin with (except when it's expedient for himself, because he's an egotistical person). Trump is supposed to be encouraging more "Edward Snowdens," especially if he wants the "Swamp Things" to come clamoring out of the swamp, naked for who they truly are. And I think it's laughable that you believe Trump has exposed "the swamp." Just look at whom he surrounds himself with in his administration (especially in terms of national security and foreign policy), and you'll see that they fit quite nicely in "the swamp."

You can't call someone like Edward Snowden "a total traitor," but then turn around and claim you're going to "drain the swamp." The two sentiments are simply contradictory.

The general public already knew about collusions amongst the FBI, CIA, and State Department before there was a conspiracy against Donald Trump and his associates, and that knowledge was escalated through Edward Snowden's whistleblowing. Trump hasn't woken anyone up to that, and he should've been exposing our intelligence community from the beginning, not when it was politically expedient for himself. Nonetheless, Trump thinks Snowden ought to be dealt with harshly, as recorded in the video above. And for what?

What examples or cases of Trump's exposure of the "Deep State" are you referring to? I need citations, not just empty rhetoric from you that "He's doing it," nor any assurances from him (or his staff) that he's going to do it. And by "exposure," I mean documented evidences that show programs, initiatives, and other means that our privacy has been intruded by our intelligence community, in the same manner that Edward Snowden did when he came out with his information about the NSA, CIA, etc.

What policies or legislation has Trump encouraged Congress to pass regarding safeguards of our privacy from intrusions by any level of federal bureaucracy, which would reveal Trump's commitment to maintain government transparency, similar to what Edward Snowden exposed?

Besides his second sentence, "Climate change is the biggest threat to our planet," I don't see anything wrong with Bezos' initiative. Environmental concerns ought to be solved from private individuals and groups, first. That's what keeps nation-states from having to get involved with them through overregulation/taxation and political appeals to fear which cause dependency from constituents.

Then the solution is to get rid of the subsidies. YouTube has no right to public funds, and therefore, they have no right to be considered a "public square." If YouTube is censoring certain channels or individuals, then it has every right to do so, even if they're channels and individuals that we may like. The problem isn't that since they're receiving money that they shouldn't be allowed to censor anyone in the public domain; rather, the problem is they're receiving public revenues as a private entity. The sneaky culprit in this whole debacle is corporate welfare, not censorship to speech.

The Dems want a moderate and strong candidate to beat Trump. I think Mike has got this. Biden is imploding and Sanders will not be able to come up with numbers like he did in NH. Buttigege had his best numbers and in future races will not have the delegates since the Dems know a gay man will not be able to beat Trump in the general. What chaos happens at the convention is another story but I still think Bloomberg will come out on top. Out of all the Dem candidates Bloomberg is Trump's greatest threat. But overall Trump is Trump's greatest threat to Trump getting re-elected. If Trump in a head to head race with Bloomberg, starts caving on gun control because Bloomberg is big on gun control and/or going after social security (cuts/raising the age), cutting Medicare (vowed not to during his campaign) he could lose. Trump cannot afford to demoralize his base before November to a point a percentage stays home. He will need every vote. Trump has the economy going for him for now. But a second threat to Trump which would not be his fault will be how our economy is effected by an economic down-turn in China due to the Coronavirus.

Probably, but I wonder is he that kind of guy that is fine with just endorsing and retiring. Last time around maybe he was looking ahead to running again in 4 years and did not want to completely burn bridges with his party. But now, age wise, he is out of time. I guess we will find out soon enough whether he goes quietly, wants something big in return or turns on his party by taking he supporters with him for a 3rd party run.

Abortion is murder; it's the intentional killing of a human being (no matter its stage of development). Therefore, the unborn child is not its mother's body. So when any legislative body passes a law to ban abortion, it's doing what it's supposed to do because it's creating a law that protects the right and sanctity of life by penalizing any who would violate that God-given right.

Clearly with the money he is spending wants to President and outside of internet forums people do not think Hillary would off him. Likely the same with him. She is an opportunist that will take whatever she can get.

Bloomberg is the strongest candidate they have and I think has the best chance of winning the nomination. Trump would have a tough time beating him in the general with Hillary on the ticket. It could still turn out to be a contested convention with Bloomberg or Clinton coming out on top, more likely a Bloomberg/Clinton deal. No doubt Bernie will get screwed again by the DNC and the far left will likely riot at the convention.

Spending cuts mean nothing if Trump isn't addressing the inflation problem from the Federal Reserve. After all, Trump has been advocating for lower interest rates, which is devastating to the value of the U.S. Dollar: https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/1222186473849544704?s=20

I thought I put up both sides in that last post. I do not see how Seniors getting screwed in the process makes it more palatable despite the positives listed. I am not even going outside libertarian beliefs. I am posting libertarian vs libertarian views on this topic. Have we become that afraid of discussing both sides of the truth here?

Current System - Government involvement in peoples lives to determine threshold for benefits. - Distributed exclusively to those in need and denied to everyone else. Creates animosity between citizens receiving and those not receiving benefits. - Requires big government apparatus to administer, monitor and review citizens lives to be sure they meet the threshold. - Tax dollars taken from citizens not returned to citizens UBI - No government intrusion in citizens personal lives.

But that is not happening. There is no movement on private alternative and reducing the welfare state. Eliminating all social programs in favor of UBI might not be the best solution but at least it is a start.

This is over a week late, but I wanted to reply to your neg rep comment. I actually was here in 2007, under a different screenname/account, (wildflower) but that's besides the point. I simply have a different opinion on your actions regarding the whole Gunny thing. But I don't feel like arguing about it any further, so that's all.
