By Llewellyn H. Rockwell, Jr. October 7, 2024 Most readers of my weekly column already favor a libertarian society, with either a strictly limited government or no government at all. They realize what a disaster the state has been. What are the philosophical foundations of this outlook? There are many possible answers, but in this column, I’m going to discuss three of the most important of these, the way Ludwig von Mises, Murray Rothbard, and Hans-Hermann Hoppe address this issue. I’m not going to take a stand on which is best but just set forward the different views and leave the choice to you. I’ll begin with Mises, as most readers will find this the easiest to understand. Suppose you want to do something, e.g., go for a drive in the country. Why do you want to do it? There are any number of possible answers to this. We can continue to ask why you want this goal, but we can’t go on forever. Eventually, you will reach a goal which doesn’t aim at achieving anything else. You just want it. Mises calls this “an ultimate value judgment.” According to Mises, there is no way of arguing about such judgments. I can say that what you want won’t get you that value, but then your judgment isn’t ultimate.

Ron Paul Institute by Adam Dick Oct 7, 2024 We are now a year into the Israel government’s military action devastating the people and infrastructure of Gaza and since expanded into escalating violence against countries including Lebanon and Iran. Yet, even today, United States Senate members are repeating flagrant lies produced in the war’s early days to trick Americans and others around the world into supporting Israel’s war. On Monday, Republican US Senators introduced a resolution repeating some of these old lies that helped build support among Americans for Israel’s war — that “Hamas terrorists” killed “approximately 1,200 individuals” in their October 7, 2023 attack and that Hamas used “rape as a weapon of war.” Why repeat the lies? To support the resolution’s conclusions, including that the Senate wants to “ensure the forever survival of Israel.” Left unsaid in the resolution is that the way the US government continually acts to purportedly achieve this goal includes shoveling more and more money, weapons, and intelligence to Israel for Israel to use in whatever way it chooses. Indeed, the US government’s commitment seems unfazed no matter Israel’s level of barbarity and no matter how much Israel’s actions cause further geographic expansion of the war.

That's a really nice thought. But, unless you have an awful lot of f&ck you money immigrants TPTB will never allow that to happen. Not by a long shot in that cold day in hell. Does Your Vote Count? "Why Even Ask The Question?" It's odd that all of the things that can/should be affected locally , people always try to justify choosing between preselected kings and queens.

Trump is a leftist nationalist-communist. I have absolutely no need for the likes of him in any way, shape or form. Folks who support Trump are one of the two following: 1. Closet Nationalist-Communists. 2. Knowing his prior 4 year record in office, as well as his Agenda47 - "Out in the Open" Nationalist-Communists. Period.

Do you really think that I'm supposed to believe that all of this just happened overnight or in 3 months time??? "Go with the flow". What a wonderful president!

Congress??? Choose one: Are you suggesting that Trump, Businessman, who has hired/fired people all of his career, sat on Company Executive Board meetings, privy to reading/signing Contracts concerning business operations, was totally in the dark about everything that he himself said, did and ordered? -or- Are you suggesting that he is completely and utterly inept to running an entire nation of well over 300,000,000 people?

Everything that I present in the form of facts, data and record is garbage to you. You would have to present to me actual data for me to believe you. So far, every time that I have asked you for such data, you have either logged immediately off or waited some period of time thinking that I would have forgotten about it. Joe Biden 2021 – present* $6.66 Trillion 23.42% Donald Trump 2017 – 2021 $8.18 Trillion 40.43% (one single term) Barack Obama 2009 – 2017 $8.34 Trillion 69.98% 9 (2 full terms)

You sound like a commercial... "but wait, there's more!". So you want me to vote for Trump and show my support for Tariffs while he adds yet another $4 Trillion right off the get go? Ron Paul: The Penn Wharton Budget Model, a think tank headquartered at the University of Pennsylvania, recently released a study claiming former President Donald Trump’s economic plans would add about four trillion dollars to the national deficit over ten years while Vice President Kamala Harris’s economic plans would add about two trillion dollars. If you were serious at all about cutting spending , it seems to me that you would support Kamala, since her spending is less than Trump's, and since Trump donated to her not once, but twice.

Power & Market Ryan McMaken 10/01/2024 The videos coming out of western North Carolina, of entire towns wiped off the map by flood waters of Hurricane Helene, are both tragic and shocking. Lesser, but serious, impacts have been felt across the entire region. The residents of much of southern Appalachia, Georgia, Florida, and the Carolinas are facing temporary shortages in terms of access to clear water, power, and fuel. For some social-media bomb throwers, however, the floods are an excellent opportunity to attack both private property and immigrant business owners. On Monday, Twitter/X user “Washingtons ghost” posted a video that allegedly shows a gas station owner in Georgia charging ten dollars per gallon for gasoline. The poster portrayed this as illegal price gouging. The post has received 1.9 million views.
