Another day, another key government figure exits stage left. A. Wess Mitchell, 41, the top diplomat in charge of European affairs, will resign from the State Department next month according to the WaPo, creating a key vacancy at a time when European leaders are questioning Trump’s commitment to historic alliances. However, unlike other prominent diplomat resignations who parted ways with the administration in silent and not so silent protest of Trump's policies, Mitchell cited personal and professional reasons in a Jan. 4 letter of resignation he submitted to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. His last day as assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs is Feb. 15. “As the administration completes its second year in office, I feel that I have completed what I set out to do in taking this position,” he wrote, citing the development of a Europe strategy and helping Pompeo transition into the job after Rex Tillerson was fired in March. “As such, I believe that the time has come for me to spend more time with my young family, who have endured many days without me over the past several months.” As noted above, Mitchell said his resignation is not a protest of the administration’s policies or the direction of foreign policy, and he praised Pompeo’s leadership and vision: "I’m fully supportive of him, the job he’s doing, the leadership team here,” he said. “But I feel like I’ve done what I came in to do. My kids have a greater claim to my time right now than the public does.” In September 2017, Mitchell became the first assistant secretary of state in the Trump administration confirmed by the Senate, and he will be the first Trump appointee to exit. As the WaPo details, Mitchell came to the State Department from a think tank he co-founded, the Center for European Policy Analysis. He had just published a book, Unquiet Frontier, in which he and Jakub Grygiel criticized President Barack Obama’s foreign policy and argued for the “renovation” of alliances. Grygiel also joined the State Department, working on European issues before leaving last year.

Since he stopped issuing promo-tweets about ICOs (after allegedly being threatened by the SEC), one-time PC security pioneer turned crypto true believer has been relatively quiet (emphasis on relatively). To wit, he hasn't issued any more outrageous promises about his willingness to consume a certain appendage in front of a live audience should the price of bitcoin not eclipse a certain level, and he hasn't elaborated on an anecdote detailing his penchant for sexual congress with one of the ocean's mightiest mammals. Whale fucking. No joke. Each year, on Feb 1st, in the Molokai Channel, a few men compete in the world's only whale fucking contest. Humpback whales are easy to fuck- for a second or less. World record: 31 seconds. I competed once. Almost got my ribs crushed. Stick with Ostriches. — John McAfee (@officialmcafee) June 24, 2018 In fact, he hasn't said much of anything that would be considered headline-worthy. That is, until today. In a video published on his twitter account, McAfee, who famously fled from murder charges brought by authorities in Belize, revealed to that he is officially on the lam after a grand jury was allegedly convened in Tennessee to pursue unspecified federal tax charges against McAfee and his family. But don't worry, McAfee fans. Because he isn't giving up on the battle against tyranny. Which is why he will be waging his 'McAfee 2020' campaign in exile...from his boat. But why exactly is the federal government coming after McAfee? Well, this might be one explanation: According to McAfee, for the last eight years, he has refused to pay federal income taxes. The government's decision to prosecute himself, his family and - according to McAfee - several of his campaign workers - is just the latest indication that McAfee's prophesy about cryptocurrencies eventually leading to conflict with governments is finally becoming a reality. "Cryptocurrency will at some point come head to head with government. Why? Because when privacy coins are widely used, governments will no longer be able to collect income taxes. This is a good thing. We will some day be at war." But the government's reason is flawed, McAfee says, because refusing to pay taxes isn't actually illegal (according to McAfee). "I have not paid taxes for eight years, I have not filed returns...I've been fine. It's not illegal. Today...Jan. 22...the IRS has convened a grand jury in the State of Tennessee to charge myself, my wife Mrs. McAfee and four of my campaign workers with unspecified IRS crimes of a felonious nature." After piercing the government's transparent ruse, the true motivation behind McAfee's persecution should be obvious to all. The government is trying to silence McAfee for having the courage to boldly advocate for people to abandon fiat currency and switch to crypto. But rather than simply allowing the government to toss him in prison (where he presumably wouldn't have access to twitter), McAfee is taking his battle to the high seas.

Gdańsk mayor Paweł Adamowicz of the Civil Platform (or PO) opposition party died after being stabbed in the heart by a deranged assailant at a charity concert on Sunday, who deceived security in order to get onstage and then give a crazed rant after the attack attempting to justify his crime on the alleged grounds that the mayor’s party wrongly imprisoned him. All of Poland is mourning Adamowicz’s death and even his political rivals made speeches denouncing his assassination, but there are already some voices that are trying to make this into a partisan issue in order to score points ahead of this May’s European Parliamentary elections and besmirch the credibility of the ruling Law & Justice Party (also known by its Polish abbreviation as PiS). The Washington Post published a provocative piece titled “Polish mayor and opposition leader dies after a stabbing, prompting fears of further divisions”, which advances the narrative that the rhetoric being espoused by some members of the ruling party and their supporters contributed to this tragedy. This is almost the exact same storyline that the US Mainstream Media promotes whenever a mentally ill American goes on a killing spree and any faint trace of a political motive could be found or manufactured. It’s probably not a coincidence that the Washington Post’s political victim of this innuendo-filled smear piece is a party allied to Trump, with whom the outlet’s owner Jeff Bezos is in a heated ideological rivalry and who his paper never tires of attacking. Venezuela remains on edge after in the pre-dawn hours of Monday morning a small group of soldiers attempted to launch a military coup against the Maduro regime, but failed, resulting in the arrests of 25 members of the Venezuelan National Guard who temporarily gained control of a police station located a short distance from the presidential palace in Caracas, and the apprehension of two others at another location, in total 27 detained — all of which sparked riots in local neighborhoods, some of which appear to have continued throughout the night. Following the mutiny and subsequent successful government crackdown, which further involved the rebellious unit briefly kidnapping several officials and stealing weaponry in the Cotiza neighborhood, pockets of anti-Maduro protests were sparked in the capital city demanding the release of the detained soldiers, whose actions the government condemned as "treasonous" and "motivated by the dark interests of the extreme right," according to a statement announced on state TV. Maduro's right-hand man, Diosdado Cabello, also boasted on Twitter while speaking of the rebels: "They were neutralized, surrendered and captured in record time." Hours prior to the crackdown on the coup attempt, a series of videos were published to social media showing what are purported to be the coup leaders standing in darkness with a spokesman demanding that Venezuelans rise up to support the coup. In one video a man who identified himself as Luis Bandres said, “You all asked that we take to the streets to defend the constitution. Here we are. Here we have the troops, it’s today when the people come out to support us.” And in another video a heavily armed man appeals to the public with "You wanted us to light the fuse, so we did. We need your support." This appears to have driven at least some in the vicinity of where the military rebellion was launched to the streets, angry at what's being called President Nicolas Maduro's "illegitimate" election to a second six-year term, as the AP reports: At daybreak in the adjacent neighborhood of Cotiza, a group of shirtless young men, some with their faces covered, built a barricade across the street with a burning car, heavy sewer grates and a large chunk of concrete. An angry group of women shouted that they have lived for too long without running water and tear gas fired by security forces choked their children. "Freedom! Freedom!" they chanted. "Maduro has to go!" "We must defend our homeland," Maria Fernanda Rodriguez, a 36-year-old manicurist, told The Associated Press, her eyes welling from the tear gas. International reports suggest some of these initial protests were snuffed out by riot police, but sporadic clashes continued in some places through the evening.

Amid increasingly urgent calls for more radical climate change action, a team of South Korean scientists has found a way to kill two birds with one stone by converting carbon dioxide into electricity and hydrogen. The team, from the Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology, took as a starting point of their research the fact that when CO2 is absorbed into the sea—which is where most CO2 emissions end up—the acidity levels of the water rise. As per their report, “If acidity increases, the number of protons increases, which in turn increases the power to attract electrons. If a battery system is created based on this phenomenon, electricity can be produced by removing CO2.” The system that the researchers invented very much resembles a fuel cell in which the reaction starts when CO2 is injected into the water, which contains the catalyst necessary for the reaction and the sodium metal cathode. The team reports the system has a pretty high conversion efficiency at 50 percent and has operated for more than 1,000 hours without the electrodes sustaining any damage. Ideally, the system could be deployed to capture and convert emissions from fossil fuel-powered facilities into hydrogen, to be used in its turn as vehicle fuel. However, this is early-stage research. According to the lead co-author of the research, Professor Jeongwon Kim, “This research will lead to more derived research and will be able to produce H2 and electricity more effectively when electrolytes, separator, system design, and electrocatalysts are improved.” More at: https://oilprice.com/Energy/Energy-General/New-Tech-Converts-CO2-Into-Electricity-And-Hydrogen.html

The United States and South Korea are struggling to narrow differences over the share of the cost of maintaining U.S. troops after a U.S. demand for a 50 percent increase in the South's contribution, a South Korean lawmaker said on Tuesday.Despite 10 rounds of talks since March, the allies have failed to strike an accord to replace a 2014 deal that expired last year, which requires South Korea to pay about 960 billion won ($848 million) a year for keeping some 28,500 U.S. troops there. U.S. President Donald Trump has repeatedly said that South Korea, where the United States has stationed soldiers since the 1950-53 Korean War, should bear more of the cost. The U.S. military has warned Korean workers on its bases they might be put on leave from mid-April if no deal is reached. At their last meeting, in December, the United States made a "sudden, unacceptable" demand that South Korea pay more than 1.4 trillion won per year, about 1.5 times its current contribution, according to Hong Young-pyo, a senior ruling party legislator. Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha briefed a group of lawmakers on the talks on Monday. Any deal is subject to parliamentary approval. "The negotiations were deadlocked," Hong told a meeting with lawmakers. "The U.S. side suddenly made a proposal at the last stage which was difficult for us to accept." A spokesman at the U.S. embassy in Seoul declined to comment. When asked about the U.S. demand on Monday, Kang declined to specify numbers but said there was a "very big difference" in the positions between the two countries. "We'll work to reach an agreement that's reasonable, affordable and explainable to the National Assembly and the people," Kang told reporters. Kang Seok-ho, another lawmaker who attended the foreign minister's briefing, said the government's stance was not to pay more than 1 trillion won a year and an agreement should be valid for five years, not one year as reportedly sought by the United States.

Lenders across the U.S. are bolstering assistance programs and evaluating how else to help their customers as the longest partial government shutdown in history threatens to extend through a second payday for furloughed federal workers.Navy Federal Credit Union, a Vienna, Virginia-based lender with more 8.1 million members, is offering no-interest, no-fee loans up to $6,000 for its 100,000 affected customers. So far, 16,000 customers have enrolled, and the lender extended advances to cover a second pay period. “One can only imagine, as far as missing a paycheck, of course there’s great concern and financial uncertainty,” Tynika Wilson, senior vice president of debit card and fund services at Navy Federal, said Tuesday in an interview. “Our program is to bridge that gap during this time, to put members at ease.” About 800,000 federal employees aren’t receiving paychecks amid the shutdown that began Dec. 22 as President Donald Trump and lawmakers clash over funding for a border wall with Mexico. Workers have been promised back pay when the impasse ends. To tide them over, more than 100 banks have programs in place to help, according to the American Bankers Association. Programs include fee waivers and low-cost loans. Some of the nation’s biggest banks, including Bank of America Corp. and Wells Fargo & Co., are offering assistance on a case-by-case basis. Wells Fargo spokeswoman Ann Wasik said the number of customers who have tapped the bank’s assistance program has been low, but increasing as the shutdown continues. U.S. Bancorp, the country’s fifth-largest bank by deposits, is offering loans up to $6,000 at 0.01 percent interest. Executives at the Minneapolis-based bank are “not expecting lots of volume, but want people to know if they have an emergency situation it’s there,” Chief Financial Officer Terry Dolan said Wednesday in an interview. More at: https://news.yahoo.com/u-banks-boost-aid-customers-215311084.html Trump needs to keep it going until after the 2020 elections and the new Congress is seated, there's no way the banks will be able to keep this up that long.

The lawyer for a former U.S. marine accused of spying by Russia said on Tuesday that his client had been misled before his arrest and believed that a thumb drive handed to him in a hotel room had contained holiday snaps rather than secret information.Russia's Federal Security Service detained Paul Whelan, who holds U.S., British, Canadian and Irish passports, in a Moscow hotel room on Dec. 28. Whelan appeared in a Moscow court on Tuesday, where a judge rejected releasing him on bail. If found guilty of espionage, he could be imprisoned for up to 20 years. Whelan, who denies the charges, was detained after receiving a thumb drive containing a list of all the employees of a secret Russian state agency, the Russian online news portal Rosbalt.ru reported this month. Rosbalt cited a Russian intelligence source it did not identify as saying that Whelan had been spying for 10 years, using the internet to identify targets from whom he could obtain information, and that the list he was caught with had long been of interest to U.S. spies. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov appeared to support that version of events, later telling reporters Whelan had been "caught red-handed" carrying out "specific illegal actions" in his hotel room. But Vladimir Zherebenkov, Whelan's lawyer, said on Tuesday that his client had accepted the information unknowingly. "Paul was actually meant to receive information from an individual that was not classified," Zherebenkov told reporters. "These were cultural things, a trip to a cathedral, Paul's holiday ... photographs. But as it turned out, it (the thumb drive) contained classified information." The lawyer said Whelan had not been able to see what was on the thumb drive because he had been detained before he had a chance to do so. His twin brother David Whelan, who lives in Canada, in a statement said his family was disappointed Paul had been denied bail. The family have said he was in Moscow to attend a wedding.

Ukrainian opposition leader Yulia Tymoshenko launched her bid for the presidency on Tuesday as the early frontrunner in opinion polls, pledging to fight corruption, increase wages and speed up integration with the West.A fiery orator, she immediately emerges as a favorite in the March 31 vote to unseat President Petro Poroshenko, who swept to power in the wake of a 2014 revolution but whose popularity has eroded over his failure to stamp out corruption. "A great country is my goal, from which I will not back down a single step. That is why I am running for president today," Tymoshenko told party supporters at sports hall in Kiev, to cheers of "Yulia is our president". A former prime minister with a following among Ukrainian nationalists, Tymoshenko was jailed under pro-Russian leader Viktor Yanukovich, who defeated her to become president in 2010 and was toppled four years later in a popular revolt. Released from jail, she again lost the presidency to Poroshenko, a confectionary billionaire who argued that Tymoshenko carried too much baggage to lead the nation. While she retains a strong core of supporters, she may struggle to win over a majority in a country where many voters consider her a polarizing figure. An opinion poll late last month by the Ilko Kucheriv Democratic Initiatives Foundation and the Kiev-based Razumkov think-tank put Tymoshenko in the lead, with support among likely voters of 16 percent. Poroshenko came second with 13.8 percent. Tymoshenko said her foreign policy priorities will be Ukraine’s integration into the EU and NATO, which will help the country resist Russian aggression: "We must become a member of NATO right away. We don’t have time to hesitate," she said. Tymoshenko said her team would increase worldwide diplomatic pressure on Russia to stop Moscow's support of the separatists.

The US Supreme Court on Tuesday allowed President Donald Trump's ban on transgender military service to take effect pending the outcome of litigation on the sensitive issue. The White House had asked the Supreme Court to intervene after lower courts prohibited Trump's administration from implementing the controversial restrictions. The Trump administration has said there is "too great a risk to military effectiveness and lethality" to allow transgender people to serve openly -- a policy enacted under Trump's predecessor Barack Obama. The court decided by a narrow 5-4 majority to allow the restrictions as litigation moves forward in lower courts -- a ruling praised by the Pentagon. "The Department is pleased with the orders issued by the Supreme Court today. We will continue to work with the Department of Justice regarding next steps in the pending lawsuits," it said in a statement, adding that "we treat all transgender persons with respect and dignity." France's Foreign Ministry summoned the Italian ambassador Monday over sharp anti-French comments from an Italian official about Europe's migrant crisis. With Italy's government on the defensive over recent deaths at sea of migrants, Italian Deputy Premier Luigi Di Maio sought to shift the blame onto France. Speaking Sunday, Di Maio said France is leading colonial-style policies in Africa that are "impoverishing" Africans and driving them to Europe's shores. A French diplomatic official said Italian Ambassador Teresa Castaldo was questioned Monday about the "unfriendly and baseless" comments. The official said they run counter to "Franco-Italian partnership" and the sense of "European community." The diplomat wasn't authorized to be publicly named. De Maio's populist 5-Star Movement is courting France's yellow vest anti-government movement and has repeatedly criticized French President Emmanuel Macron. The two governments have notably clashed over migration. Di Maio downplayed the tensions on Monday, telling journalists "I don't think it's a diplomatic case." But he insisted that "it's true, France is one of those countries" whose actions in Africa contribute to migrants leaving their homelands on dangerous journeys. Both sides of this are being manipulated. We are aware that the Image of Traditional Men is under attack. It causes Feminists to attack ANY man, not just those that show Traditional Male behavior. The Ad in and of itself is only representative of "Triggering" the males to have just as much disdain toward women, because that is useful to the elite. Take a group of honest traditional men. They have families, homes, work, and love what they have. If those same men are reduced to breeding machines then turn their own families and homes against them, they will abandon an abusive exploitative manipulative home than a man that has a loving home and a purpose in life. Basically, its a continued effort of the destruction of the WHOLE FAMILY, not just Men or Women, traditional or otherwise. They WANT violence, and they WANT abandonment. Isolated people are much easier to manipulate and control than those without. The Ad itself is a reflection of the persons mind that created the video, not the true nature of Traditional Masculinity, but rather how the person that produced the ad feels about Traditional Masculinity, if that makes any sense...
