Yes, it is bad. But it wasn't that way before we invaded, had we not invaded most of it would never have happened, Assad is a member of a minority sect that has as much to fear from mainstream islamists as the Christians do and he considers them political allies and Saddam was a secularist who may not have made allies of them but did make sure to suppress any islamists that posed a threat to them as well as him.

It was our invasion that led to their near extermination, Assad is quite friendly to them and bad as Saddam was he left them alone for the most part.

The Justice Department was fully aware that the notorious Steele Dossier was connected to Hillary Clinton and might be biased - a crucial detail which was omitted just weeks later from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrant used to spy on the Trump campaign, reports John Solomon of The Hill. According to Solomon's sources - which have proven impeccable, the former #4 Department of Justice (DOJ) official, Bruce Ohr - who had extensive contact with Steele, briefed "both senior FBI and DOJ officials in summer 2016 about Christopher Steele's Russia dossier, explicitly cautioning that the British intelligence operative's work was opposition research connected to Hillary Clinton's campaign and might be biased." Ohr’s activities, chronicled in handwritten notes and congressional testimony I gleaned from sources, provide the most damning evidence to date that FBI and DOJ officials may have misled federal judges in October 2016 in their zeal to obtain the warrant targeting Trump adviser Carter Page just weeks before Election Day. -The Hill Ohr's activities also contradict a key argument made by House Democrats in their attempts to downplay the significance of the Steele Dossier; that the FBI claimed it was "unaware of any derogatory information" about Steele, and that the former MI6 operative was "never advised ... as to the motivation behind the research." The FBI further "speculates" that those who hired Steele were "likely looking for information to discredit" Trump's campaing. There was no "speculation" going on by the FBI. Thanks to Ohr's warning, they absolutely knew about Steele's bias against Trump while working for a Clinton-funded project to gather harmful opposition research on him. Ohr had firsthand knowledge about the motive and the client: He had just met with Steele on July 30, 2016, and Ohr’s wife, Nellie, worked for Fusion GPS, the same firm employing Steele. “I certainly told the FBI that Fusion GPS was working with, doing opposition research on Donald Trump,” Ohr told congressional investigators, adding that he warned the FBI that Steele expressed bias during their conversations. “I provided information to the FBI when I thought Christopher Steele was, as I said, desperate that Trump not be elected,” he added. “So, yes, of course I provided that to the FBI.” -The Hill

According to Pamela Geller, who has been speaking out against the dangers of radical Islam for decades, Twitter has told her to seek legal counsel for breaking Pakistani law. “Twitter has sent me notice ;to consult legal counsel’ because the tweet below ‘is in violation of Pakistan law.’ You bloody cowards can kiss my free ass. I am an American. You are an American company. Act like it, sniveling slaves,” she said on the platform. “Sweden: Muslims who wanted to ‘kill as many as possible’ over Muhammad cartoon to be released from prison: Madness. These terrorists have threatened violence to staff and other prisoners during their prison sentence, with one requiring isolation after…” said the original Tweet for which Geller was flagged. According to statements by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, discussions between U.S. and Russian delegations on the future of the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF) have not led to any productive solutions, RBC reported Jan. 16. Lavrov said the U.S. position was to stick to its previously issued ultimatum by demanding the destruction of all 9M729 cruise missiles and their land-based launchers in Russia's inventory. Russia countered the demands by offering the United States access to information about the missile to prove it is not nuclear-capable, but Washington reportedly rejected the offer. The Russian foreign minister also said that Moscow remains open to attempts to salvage the INF. More at: https://worldview.stratfor.com/situation-report/russia-us-inf-treaty-discussions-fail

Mexico's federal government has decided not to earmark any funds in its 2019 budget to implement labor reforms because the country's parliament has not passed secondary legislation to enact the changes, Inside U.S. Trade reported Jan. 15. The reform is critical to the implementation of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) and is of great importance to Mexico’s private sector and foreign investors. “I understand how you interpreted my words when you read them this way,” King said. “There is no tape for this interview that I did. It was 56 minutes long there are some notes on the other end, but there is no tape there’s no way to go back and listen.” White supremacist “ideology never shows up in my head,” King continued, and “I don't know how it could possibly come out of my mouth.” King continued, So I'm going to tell that the words are likely what I said. But I want to read it to you the way I believe I said it, and and that’s this: “White nationalist, white supremacist — Western Civilization, how did that language become offensive? Why did I sit in classes teaching me about the merits of our history and civilization” — that’s the end of the quote — just to watch Western Civilization become a derogatory term in political discourse today. That’s what I believe happened.” In other words, by incorrectly punctuating King’s remarks, the Times created the appearance that King asked why white nationalism and supremacy were offensive, and connecting them to Western civilization. King explained likewise in a news release. In a 56 minute interview, we discussed the changing use of language in political discourse. We discussed the worn out label “racist” and my observation that other slanderous labels have been increasingly assigned to Conservatives by the Left, who injected into our current political dialog such terms as Nazi, Fascist, “White Nationalist, White Supremacist, — Western Civilization, how did THAT language become offensive? Why did I sit in classes teaching me about the merits of our history and our civilization?”... just to watch Western Civilization become a derogatory term in political discourse today. Clearly, I was only referencing Western Civilization classes. No one ever sat in a class listening to the merits of white nationalism and white supremacy. When I used the word “THAT” it was in reference ONLY to Western Civilization and NOT to any previously stated evil ideology ALL of which I have denounced. My record as a vocal advocate for Western Civilization is nearly as full as my record in defense of Freedom of Speech. None of that mattered, of course, and neither did the rest of King’s floor speech supporting the resolution.

The Center for Immigration Studies, a leading think tank focused on the costs and consequences of mass immigration, filed suit today against two top officials at the Southern Poverty Law Center. SPLC President Richard Cohen and Intelligence Project Director Heidi Beirich, the lawsuit alleges, “have have been engaged in an ongoing conspiracy to harm CIS by falsely designating it a hate group.” That conspiratorial defamation, the lawsuit claims, violates the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO). The Lawsuit Amusingly, the lawsuit alleges, SPLC’s own definition of “hate group” undermines its application of that label to CIS. Noting that Cohen has said he is “trying to wreck the groups ... and destroy them,” and that Beirich and Cohen collaborate in designating “hate groups,” the lawsuit explains that “SPLC defines a ‘hate group’ as ‘an organization that — based on its official statements or principles, the statements of its leaders, or its activities — has beliefs or practices that attack or malign an entire class of people, typically for their immutable characteristics.’” But, the lawsuit continues, the U.S. Supreme Court has said “being an illegal, unauthorized, or undocumented immigrant is not an ‘immutable characteristic’ since ‘it is the product of a conscious, indeed unlawful, action.’ And being a legal immigrant is similarly the result of a personal choice.” “Thus,” the lawsuit continues, “SPLC has not even articulated a basis for designating CIS or any organization a hate group based upon its views on immigration policy.” Then the lawsuit zeroes in on another problem with SPLC’s definition: It doesn’t apply to CIS because the “‘official statement or principles’ of CIS do not indicate ‘beliefs or practices’ that ‘attack or malign’ immigrants as a ‘class.’” In fact, the CIS website says, its mission is “providing immigration policy makers, the academic community, news media, and concerned citizens with reliable information about the social, economic, environmental, security and fiscal consequences of legal and illegal immigration into the United States.”

Tulane University has reached an agreement with the federal government to stop discriminating against men by offering female-only scholarships and financial aid. The announcement marks a rare victory for men in this increasingly hostile post-#MeToo climate. “By September 6, 2019, the University will ensure that it is not treating male students differently on the basis of sex by providing different amounts of financial assistance, limiting eligibility for financial assistance … or otherwise discriminating with respect to financial assistance," the agreement said. Furthermore, Tulane has agreed to provide updated training to its financial aid officers to ensure "nondiscrimination in financial assistance." The agreement follows a complaint placed with the Education Department's Office for Civil Rights by Virginia Title IX attorney Margaret C. Valois. The complaint argued that six of Tulane's scholarships were discriminatory because they were not made available to male students. The scholarships included the Landor Lewis and Shirley Gauff Award and the Grace Hopper Celebration Award, as well as the school's Summer Internship Funding Grant, which provided up to $2,000 annually for female students to incentivize them to accept unpaid internships. "Tulane's implementation of Title IX provides greater educational opportunities for female students than for male students. When opportunities and benefits are offered to one group because of their sex … it is patently unfair," said Valois in August when she filed the complaint. Valois added that while she supports the original intent of Title IX to ensure equality for women, she contends that it has gone too far and has ultimately led to males being underrepresented on college campuses and facing regular discrimination in Title IX trials that violate due process. In fact, Valois spends much of her time providing legal counsel to students accused of sexual misconduct. "For decades, we’ve been focused on ensuring that women had opportunities to pursue their educations, and those efforts succeeded, resulting in student bodies now being around 60 percent female," said Valois. "The tables have turned, and this case acknowledges that reverse-discrimination exists against men in academia." Migrants in Finland who are guilty of serious crimes should have their citizenship removed, according to the country’s Interior Minister. Kai Mykkänen delivered his stance while Finnish police are investigating a series of rape and child abuse cases currently rocking the country where all the suspects are either refugees or asylum seekers. “You cannot come to Finland to seek protection and then create insecurity yourself,” said Mykkänen. As of this writing, two Finnish cities are embroiled in a slew of cases involving offenders with a “foreign background” being arrested for the suspected rape and gross sexual exploitation of girls under the age of 15. Regarding these incidents, law enforcement has urged parents to be vigilant of their children’s social media activity as it is believed that is how offenders are reaching their victims. Correspondingly, more of Finland’s top leaders are weighing in on the situation while calling for a crisis meeting over what Swedish media is referring to as “the foreign pedophile wave.” "As a result of the inhuman and reprehensible events in Oulu and Helsinki, the government will meet next week in negotiations both on Tuesday and Friday,” wrote Finnish Prime Minister Juha Sipilä. Freshman Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) represents a clear and present danger to women’s rights and autonomy over their own bodies after her horrific comments in a recent Washington Post interview. “So enjoy being exhausted for the next two years while we run train on the progressive agenda,” she said of her conservative critics. Not to enter mansplaining territory, but just because AOC is member of the Democratic Party, does not mean that she should receive a pass for comments that are so clearly sexist – so deeply rooted in a toxically masculine culture that believes that women are the property of men. “Run train?” Really? Here is how Urban Dictionary defines the term: “When a bunch of guys have sex with the same girl one after another with no break for the girl; to perform various unforgivable acts of a sexual nature on one female in rapid succession; a gangbang.” AOC mentioned nothing about whether she’ll ask for the consent of the Republican Party before she gangbangs them into submission. What if they’re just not that into her? Is she literally threatening to rape 60 million plus Republican Americans? There is nothing “progressive” about the threat of gang rape. Phrases like “run train” are violent. They are the equivalent of actually committing the crime of rape. AOC should understand that.

The Democrat “Problem Solvers Caucus” met with President Trump without her Democrats keep saying good things about the Wall, without saying the word “Wall” Democrat congressman Hakeem Jeffries said on the House floor that Democrats “are prepared to have a conversation about infrastructure on the border” and “a conversation about our broken immigration system.” Jeffries is the latest Democrat to suggest open-mindedness on compromise so long as Democrats can use a different term than “Wall.” Jeffries said that Democrats are not prepared to have these conversations during President Trump’s supposedly vindictive government shutdown, but they might have no choice. California Democrat Katie Hill went on Fox News to talk about Democrat openness to “physical barriers,” and Rep. Cheri Bustos expressed openness to a “partial Wall.”
