I guess if it has stopped then it might be best left alone unless there are more problems. I hate having to personally "eat" a situation like that. Tell you what though... I would not be the admin he would want to go after. And if he can hack then he should be smart enough to know you do not go after anyone who has your IP address and just one registration conformation email to a domain server. It would only take a few days to research and investigate clues that would lead directly to his physical address. I have done it many times myself as an administrator. Funny how they disappear when you tell them what their own physical address is. :) I have a lot of respect for domain administrators who as an industry standard respect your privacy like they do. They have a LOT of tools available to them and they could ruin your world if they really wanted to. It would be a very very poor idea to go after any domain admin. They could have cops knocking on your front door within a week if they wanted to.

I have made some "friends" like that over the years too... I had to prove it to the admins of my haunts and get them booted so that they were not a problem for anyone again. There were a couple on the Daily Paul years ago that ended up being part of why it was shut down because they were pulling this crap on other users "under the table" like that and were allowed to stay when they should have been booted.

No... There could be something to that for sure and not defending at all. But the chances are, it very well could be coincidence and strange timing. Both have happened to me before. I'm just sharing that the extortion email you mentioned is a common scam so I would take that out of the equation, it was most likely coincidental timing on that one. In fact I just checked my domain email and found another one... This one is from email address (Abdallah~Andre@x-xv1uf05sg.ibnabitalib.org) "Thе first thing thаt comes to yоur mind now is, let me guеss, whо the fuck is this. аm I right? It very well could be, Just pointing out that hacked account passwords are actually more common than one would think. I have had even gmail hacked before. And someone hacked and took over my Twitter account one time. vBulliten forums and Myspace have been hacked for user info passwords in the past... I don't think it was aimed directly at you. This came up in another forum awhile back and it turned out just about everyone had received the same spoofing email. So it's a common universal scam. And they rig the source as coming from your own email address so it makes you think your email has been hacked. Here is one I got not too long ago. :) Yоu maу nоt knоw mе and you arе prоbablу wоndering why yоu arе gеtting this e mail, right? I was being sarcastic, and yeah, Onion. Point still remains that the only control we have over our data is to either put it out there or dont put it out there. Once its out there, all control is lost. Bank of America might just as well sell the shit to the people who would get it all in data breaches anyway, and I would not be at all surprised to find out they did. All of it can and will be used to humiliate people / damage their reputations / enforce total behavioral control. Things we think are good about ourselves someone else can analyze until they find something "wrong" and use that against us. Other side is once total obedience is had, the choices we may be offered will be to either kill such and such guys family for having the wrong political views, or they will kill yours.

This week, he surfaced again, this time on the pages of The Washington Post whose reporters interviewed him from his still-undisclosed location through a series of emails. The fruit of that labor is an 8,000-word tome that doubles down on the allegations against the leader of the Roman Catholic Church. “The signs I see are truly ominous,” ViganÚ wrote. “Not only is Pope Francis doing close to nothing to punish those who have committed abuse, he is doing absolutely nothing to expose and bring to justice those who have, for decades, facilitated and covered up the abusers.” ViganÚ calls the pope’s February summit on abuse a farce, blaming the Vatican’s gay mafia for the real crimes of clerical sex abuse. “An especially serious problem is that the summit focused exclusively on the abuse of minors,” he wrote, acknowledging that yes, those crimes are truly horrific. “Indeed, if the problem of homosexuality in the priesthood were honestly acknowledged and properly addressed, the problem of sexual abuse would be far less severe.” McCarrick, he has long asserted, should have been made an example of years ago as an abuser who indiscriminately abused both young boys and adults. ViganÚ believes that Francis knew that and chose to elevate the American cardinal, who was a skilled diplomat who helped him broker a deal with China over its underground church. “McCarrick’s degradation from office was, as far as it goes, a just punishment, but there is no legitimate reason why it was not exacted more than five years earlier, and after a proper trial with a judicial procedure,” ViganÚ wrote the Post. “Those with authority to act knew everything they needed to know by June of 2013.” ViganÚ’s return comes at a time when battle lines have never been so clear between the more liberal faction of the church that supports Francis and the traditional conservatives who support the likes of Burke and ViganÚ. Even the timing of the release of a harsh Vatican document against what it calls gender theory—“nothing more than a confused concept of freedom in the realm of feelings and wants”—is curious. A Vatican insider confided to The Daily Beast that the timing, during the height of pride month, was meant to push the pope into a corner, either in defending the document or defending transgender people. In the end, he did neither. That ViganÚ finally gave permission to The Washington Post to publish its scoop after weeks of negotiations (Vigano's letters are dated May 2), is another example of the systematic criticism meant to embarrass the pontiff. “We are in a truly dark moment for the universal Church: The Supreme Pontiff is now blatantly lying to the whole world to cover up his wicked deeds!” ViganÚ claims. “But the truth will eventually come out, about McCarrick and all the other coverups, as it already has in the case of Cardinal Wuerl, who also “knew nothing” and had “a lapse of memory.” Wuerl, another American cardinal from Francis’ inner circle who, like McCarrick, brought millions in donations from wealthy American Catholics to Rome, is the disgraced head of the powerful Washington, D.C. diocese. Francis was forced under pressure to accept his resignation last October after ViganÚ claimed he knew and covered up for McCarrick with the help of both Francis and John Paul II of McCarrick’s crimes proved too credible to ignore. To those against the pope, Wuerl and McCarrick are emblematic in what is fast becoming a troubling legacy for the popular pope many thought could do no wrong after he was elected. For those who support this pope, they are just ammunition used against the most liberal pope in modern history. Either Vigano is the pawn or the errant clerics are in what is fast becoming a schism that may soon be hard to close. “Pope Francis needs to reconcile himself with God, and the entire Church, since he covered up for McCarrick, refuses to admit it, and is now covering up for several...

I think we are safe until 2024: The Army expects to procure its Multi-Mission High Energy Laser (MMHEL) by 2022 and a hypersonic weapon prototype by 2023, said Lt. Gen L. Neil Thurgood, director of hypersonics, directed energy, space, and rapid acquisition, reported Army News Service. The MMHEL is a 50-kilowatt laser through a precision pointing, high-velocity target tracking beam control system. The new design will be mounted onto an IAV (Interim Armored Vehicle) Stryker, an eight-wheeled armored fighting vehicle, to increase the Army's short-range air defense capabilities, according to officials with the Army Rapid Capabilities and Critical Technologies Office. Thurgood said the MMHEL would be ready for the modern battlefield by 2022, will be used to protect combat teams from drones, helicopters, rockets, artillery, and mortars. The general added that the Army joined forces with other services to advance the development of directed energy weapons with one goal in mind: increase kilowatts of the weapon.

French billionaires who promised nearly $1 billion to rebuild Notre Dame haven't contributed a single penny to the effort in the two months since they made their headline-grabbing commitments, according to the Associated Press, citing church and business officials. Instead, American donors have been footing the bills for up to 150 workers employed by the cathedral following the April 15 fire that destroyed its roof. Some $4 million collected via the charitable foundation of the Friends of Notre Dame is being handed transferred to the cathedral in the first payment to date towards the reconstruction. "The big donors haven’t paid. Not a cent," said senior Notre Dame press official Andrew Finot. "They want to know what exactly their money is being spent on and if they agree to it before they hand it over, and not just to pay employees’ salaries." Almost $1 billion was promised by some of France’s richest and most powerful families and companies, some of whom sought to outbid each other, in the hours and days after the inferno. It prompted criticism that the donations were as much about the vanity of the donors wishing to be immortalized in the edifice’s fabled stones than the preservation of church heritage. Francois Pinault of Artemis, the parent company of Kering that owns Gucci and Saint Laurent, promised 100 million euros, while Patrick Pouyanne, CEO of French energy company Total, said his firm would match that figure. Bernard Arnault, CEO of luxury giant LVMH that owns Louis Vuitton and Dior, pledged 200 million euros, as did the Bettencourt Schueller Foundation of the L’Oreal fortune. -Associated Press Finot says the donors are holding out to see how the reconstruction plans are coming along and will fight over contracts. In reality, boots have been on the ground for weeks, with work continuing around the clock according to AP. Without a legal method to pay the workers, the cathedral has been relying on the charity foundation to fund the cleanup and phase-one of the reconstruction.

North Carolina won't clear voting-machine makers to sell their systems to county elections boards until it learns more about who owns them, the state's elections board chairman said Friday. The decision comes amid worries of foreign election interference that have grown since special counsel Robert Mueller's April report into Russian efforts to sway the 2016 presidential election. Mueller's report "essentially says everybody should be concerned about this and everybody should be looking harder at a lot of these things to make sure we're protected as best we can be," said Robert Cordle, the head of the state elections board. "It's just a matter of doing our due diligence now to make sure there are no problems." The state board is giving the three companies that have already passed several rounds of screening until June 21 to disclose anyone holding a 5 percent or greater interest in their company, their parent company or any subsidiaries. Counties would be able to buy new voting systems ó which could be in use for a decade ó from approved companies. Maryland officials learned last year that a company maintaining their election infrastructure did not disclose that it was being financed for more than two years by a venture fund whose largest investor is a Russian oligarch. A U.S. Department of Homeland Security team found no evidence of intrusion on the state's election system, which was hosted and maintained by Annapolis, Maryland-based ByteGrid. Peering into who is behind voting-equipment makers is a long overdue step that few states have taken, said Lawrence Norden, an expert on voting machines with the Brennan Center for Justice at New York University's law school. "We know very little about voting system vendors, and this is a crucial piece of information," he wrote in an email. After November, North Carolina will require touchscreen-only voting systems to be replaced with equipment that produces a paper record. The change will affect machines in about a third of the state's counties. More at: https://news.yahoo.com/north-carolina-wants-know-owns-180948958.html
