Swordsmyth replied to a thread Mexico. in World News & Affairs
A huge fire exploded at a pipeline leaking fuel in central Mexico on Friday, killing at least 20 people and badly burning 71 others as locals were collecting the spilling gasoline in buckets and garbage cans, officials said. The leak was caused by an illegal tap that fuel thieves had drilled into the pipeline in a small town in the state of Hidalgo, about 62 miles (100 kilometers) north of Mexico City, according to state oil company Petroleos Mexicanos, or Pemex. Video footage showed dozens of residents near the town of Tlahuelilpan gathered to collect spilled fuel in buckets, garbage cans and other vessels. It appeared an almost festive atmosphere as whole families gathered in a field as a geyser of fuel spouted dozens of feet into the air from the tap. Footage then showed flames shooting high into the air against a night sky and the pipeline ablaze. Screams could be heard. Hidalgo Gov. Omar Fayad said 20 people were killed immediately and 71 suffered burns in the blast at the duct that carries fuel —apparently gasoline — from the Gulf coast to Tula, a city just north of Mexico City. "Caring for the wounded is our top priority," Fayad said. Pemex attributed the blaze to "the manipulation of an illegal tap." President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador has declared an offensive against fuel theft and the blast will further focus attention on the $3 billion per-year illegal industry. "I greatly lament the grave situation Tlahuelilpan is suffering because of the explosion of the duct," Lopez Obrador tweeted. He called on all branches of government to assist the victims. Hidalgo state police said the leak was first reported at about 5:00 p.m. local time. "There was a report that residents were on the scene trying to obtain fuel," according to a police report. Two hours later, the pipeline burst into flames.

I'm willing to stop all immigration until further notice and then consider that you may be right before starting it up again after 10-18 years, if things aren't looking solved at that point then just keep the freeze going for another 20 years and reconsider again etc.. You are probably right if we don't either deport massive numbers of immigrants who are already here or divide the country.

True, she didn't try to lead the cavalry charge and she is the only female judge in their history. There are also scriptural passages that describe being ruled by women as a curse on a land. Just as a minor footnote I will point out that there was also a prophetess at the Temple when Joseph and Mary took Jesus there as an infant. (But she wasn't ruling the land and the people and their religious leaders were in pretty bad shape at that time too)

I would be willing to consider that. If only your position and mine were the two opposite poles of the political debate, we wouldn't be too badly off no matter who won.

Judges Chapter 4 4 And Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, she judged Israel at that time. 5 And she dwelt under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in mount Ephraim: and the children of Israel came up to her for judgment. 6 And she sent and called Barak the son of Abinoam out of Kedeshnaphtali, and said unto him, Hath not the LORD God of Israel commanded, saying, Go and draw toward mount Tabor, and take with thee ten thousand men of the children of Naphtali and of the children of Zebulun? 7 And I will draw unto thee to the river Kishon Sisera, the captain of Jabin's army, with his chariots and his multitude; and I will deliver him into thine hand. 8 And Barak said unto her, If thou wilt go with me, then I will go: but if thou wilt not go with me, then I will not go. 9 And she said, I will surely go with thee: notwithstanding the journey that thou takest shall not be for thine honour; for the LORD shall sell Sisera into the hand of a woman. And Deborah arose, and went with Barak to Kedesh. 10 And Barak called Zebulun and Naphtali to Kedesh; and he went up with ten thousand men at his feet: and Deborah went up with him. 11 Now Heber the Kenite, which was of the children of Hobab the father in law of Moses, had severed himself from the Kenites, and pitched his tent unto the plain of Zaanaim, which is by Kedesh.

Most of her teachings/rulings were not recorded or were lost but she judged Israel and she was the one who told Barak what to do. Please note that she was an extremely rare example who was chosen by GOD personally.

It's not as important to me as you may think, if "racism" were proven to be true in some significant way I would adopt it and proudly claim the title, I have said before that the worst problem with anti-racism censorship is that it prevents any studies that would prove the truth one way or the other, right now all I have is my opinion which happens to be non-racist, I would like to have the truth whichever way it turned out, truth is what is important. I agree almost completely, I have advocated for a 10-18 year immigration freeze from all sources followed by vastly reduced immigration weighted towards those countries that most closely fit our culture and highly merit based when selecting the individuals from those countries. We also need to expel as many of the low quality illegal and legal immigrants that have been allowed in.

Stricken with Pneumonia, Ruth Bader Ginsburg Cancels Event Set for January 29, 2019

Last September, the Santa Monica Observor (SMO) was the first to report that Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg had developed cancer. For that, SMO was slimed as fake news by Snopes, but Snopes was wrong. On December 21, 2018, Ginsburg underwent surgery to remove two cancerous growths on her left lung. She had had two previous bouts of cancer: she was treated in 1999 for colon cancer and had surgery in 2009 for pancreatic cancer. Although Ginsburg’s people insisted that Ginsburg was recovering nicely from the surgery, she had not returned to the bench since. The Trump administration evidently has better knowledge than the Hate America MSM. It was reported on January 10, 2019, that the Trump White House was reaching out to politicalallies and conservative activistgroups to prepare for Ginsburg’s death or departure from the Supreme Court. Five days later, on January 15, San Diego Monitor once again is the first to break the news. In a report that reads like an obituary, SDM‘s Stan Greene writes that 85-year-old Ginsburg is “stricken with pneumonia” and “will retire from the U.S. Supreme Court in January 2019,” and that “President Donald J Trump will be replacing Notorious RBG, the lovechild of the left, and so will remake the Supreme Court for a generation.” More at: https://fellowshipoftheminds.com/ruth-bader-ginsburg-has-pneumonia-and-will-retire-from-supreme-court-this-month

A tiny Himalayan state bordering China is about to embark on the world's largest experiment in universal basic income. All 610,577 citizens living in Sikkim will receive a guaranteed income, unconditionally, in lieu of cash a myriad of confusing social assistance schemes currently offered, according to the Washington Post. "If there is one chance of it happening anywhere, it is Sikkim," said the state's sole member of India's Parliament, P.D. Rai. Sikkim is notably progressive - being one of the first Indian states to successfully ban plastic bags, provide housing for all its citizens, and - more recently, it became India's first "organic state" by eliminating the use of pesticides and fertilizers. Its social indexes also stand out from the rest of the country, with a literacy rate of 98 percent, and it has reduced the percentage of people living below the poverty line to about 8 percent — compared with nearly 30 percent nationally. Sikkim’s small geographic area and low population density have been responsible, in part, for its success. Rai acknowledged that there will be challenges. “It’s a matter of political will ultimately,” he said. “With the rise of global inequality, we want to ensure that we bridge the gap.” Rai declined to reveal how much the program, which was announced ahead of upcoming elections this spring, would potentially cost the state. -Washington Post In order to pay for the program - expected to roll out by 2022, Sikkim's tourism and power sectors will be tapped - as the Himalayan country sitting at 8,500 feet welcomes over 2.5 million visitors per year. Sikkim also generates surplus power - selling 90% of its hydropower. Canada's envoy to Beijing on Thursday threw cold water on long-sought free trade between the two nations as an ugly diplomat spat over Canada's detention of a top Chinese tech executive drags into a second month. Ambassador John McCallum, who returned to Canada to brief lawmakers on the row, told reporters that Canadian businesses want to press on with growing the trade relationship. But, he added, exploratory talks on free trade that started in September 2016 are now dead and unlikely to be revived in the forseeable future. "We are certainly not negotiating free trade with China either before or after this. So it's not on the table right now," McCallum told reporters.
