All that and worse is coming if there is no split. And this is not about cakes, this is about communism, globalism and totalitarianism. Meanwhile we can deal with each of the issues you mention without bloodshed if the left will agree to do so, if they do not then war and bloodshed are inevitable and when we win we will keep all the land and expel the survivors.

We will need to insist on keeping the red counties if it happens. And insist on a limited amount of time for the former Americans to reclaim their citizenship and return to our territory from blue counties.

The Afghan government and Taliban negotiators are nearing a compromise on a key sticking point that has stalled peace talks in Doha, a senior Afghan official said Wednesday. The Taliban, who are Sunni hardliners, had insisted on strict adherence to the Hanafi school of Sunni Islamic jurisprudence, but government negotiators worried this could be used to discriminate against the predominantly Shi'ite Hazara community and other religious minorities. Abdullah Abdullah, chairman of Afghanistan's High Council for National Reconciliation that is overseeing Kabul's peace push, said in an interview with AFP that after several small-group meetings in Doha, the issue had been resolved "to a large extent". Both sides have provisionally agreed "to recognise the principal issue of Hanafi's role without any discrimination to Shia communities or minorities, so … the compromise is around that," Abdullah said. Resolution of the issue means one less obstacle as negotiators try to draw up an agenda for talks, which could take years to complete.

The Conference Board reported on Tuesday that its index of consumer confidence jumped in September by the biggest increase in 17 years. The index clocked in at 101.8 for the month, up from 86.3 in August. Economists were expecting a reading of just 89.6. Inside that index were two indicators driving the increase: how consumers feel about the economy right now (98.5 currently, up from 85.8 in August) and how consumers feel about the next six months (104 currently, up from 86.6 in August). On Wednesday morning, payroll processor ADP reported that the rebounding U.S. economy added nearly 770,000 new jobs in August: 196,000 in the “goods-producing” sector of the economy and 552,000 in the service sector. Franchise employment added another 20,700 jobs last month. Forecasters once again underestimated the strength of the U.S. economy’s rebound from the shutdown: They predicted a 649,000 gain in August. ADP also revised upward last month’s new jobs report, from 428,000 to 481,000. The ADP report comes two days before the jobs report from the Department of Labor, the last report on the health of the economy before the election. Forecasters are predicting the DOL will show the economy adding 850,000 new jobs in August, bringing the unemployment rate down further, from 8.4 percent last month to 8.2 percent in September.

Seagram’s liquor heiress and Nxivm cult member Clare Bronfman was sentenced Wednesday to six years and nine months in prison for her role in the upstate cult — a far harsher sentence than even prosecutors had asked for. The daughter of late Canadian billionaire Edgar Bronfman Sr. pleaded guilty last year to charges related to the notorious group and its sex-trafficking svengali, Keith Raniere. “She used her incredible wealth as a means of intimidation, threat and exacting revenge on individuals who challenged its dogmas,” Judge Nicholas G. Garaufis said as he handed down the sentence in Brooklyn federal court. Bronfman, 41, faced 30 months behind bars under federal sentencing guidelines for charges of conspiracy to conceal and harbor an illegal alien for financial gain and fraudulent use of identification, although prosecutors had sought twice that, calling for five years. But Garaufis ultimately delivered an even harsher punishment — sending her to the slammer for 81 months and ordering her to pay a $500,000 fine.

Democratic Rep. Tulsi Gabbard has come out swinging against ballot harvesting following Project Veritas’ recent video stings alleging that Ilhan Omar campaign staffers in Minneapolis have been involved in a cash-for-votes ballot harvesting scheme. Gabbard described the videos as “further evidence of the need to ban ballot harvesting” to safeguard “our sacred right to vote.” Her remarks followed a statement from the Minneapolis Police Department on Monday afternoon that police are now investigating “allegations of voter fraud following the release of the Project Veritas videos. “Congress needs to pass our bipartisan bill to ban ballot harvesting so no one can exploit our sacred right to vote,” Gabbard stated on Twitter. “Project Veritas offers further evidence of the need to ban ballot harvesting. It’s not a partisan issue. It’s been abused to help both R & D candidates, including in North Carolina & California. Please help by telling your congressional rep to pass our bipartisan bill HR8285,” she added. In addition to her remarks, Gabbard shared a video she produced earlier this month where she announced a bipartisan bill to the House of Representatives to ban ballot harvesting. “Hey, everybody, we’re getting closer and closer to election day now, and it is critical to remember that the strength of our democracy lies in the integrity of our elections, that every one of us has to have faith that our vote will count,” Gabbard said in the video. “But right now, there are still many states in our country that allow for something called ballot harvesting. This is a system that allows for third parties to collect and deliver ballots for other people, potentially large numbers of people. Unfortunately, ballot harvesting has allowed for fraud and abuse to occur by those who could tamper with or discard ballots to try to sway an election for or against a certain candidate or party.”
