Four planes were forced to make emergency landings in Chile and Peru on Thursday because of bomb threats issued to Chile’s civil aviation authority, the authority said in a statement. Two of the planes were operated by LATAM Airlines and two by Sky, a low-cost Chilean airline, the aviation authority said. Sky also reported that a third plane it operated was prevented from taking off because of a bomb threat. According to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGAC) and the airlines, inspections of three of those five planes found no bombs, and at least one plane was later allowed to resume its flight. For four of the five flights, Santiago, Chile’s capital, was either the origination or the destination. This school year, students across the country will attend courses on “*****ing the Bible,” “*****ing Childhood,” “*****ing Theology,” and similar topics. Students at Pomona College in Claremont, California, for instance, will have the opportunity to enroll in a brand new course titled “*****ing Childhood,” which will examine “the figure of the Child and how this figuration is used by politics, law, and medicine to justify continued cultural investment in reproductive heteronormativity and productive ablebodiedness.” The course description explains that students will examine the childhoods of “***** and crip children,” as well as “childhoods against which the figure of the Child is articulated,” with reference to work related to “gender studies, childhood studies, disability studies, and ***** theory.” More at: h t t p s://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-08-16/colleges-offer-courses-q u e e r ing-children-bible Remove the spaces and paste in your browser

A state senator in Michigan's legislature is under fire over allegations she used racial slurs to attack her primary election rival in front of voters. Rep. Bettie Cook Scott (D-Detroit), who is black, used deeply offensive anti-Asian slurs in describing her opponent Rep. Stephanie Chang (D-Detroit) in a now viral story. On Thursday the Detroit Metro Times published a full report, outlining the allegations: Scott is alleged to have referred to Chang as "ching-chang" and "the ching-chong" to multiple voters outside polling precincts during last Tuesday's election. She's also said to have called one of Chang's campaign volunteers an “immigrant,” saying “you don’t belong here” and “I want you out of my country.” Chang and Scott were running in the Democratic primary for state Sen. District 1. Chang won the election with 49 percent of the vote; Scott came in third with 11 percent of the vote. Since the series of incidents first surfaced Rep. Scott has been called upon by over a dozen local community groups to issue a formal apology. National organizations have also weighed in, including the Association of Chinese Americans and the African Bureau of Immigration & Social Affairs, all demanding an explanation from Scott.

The truce agreement between Israel and Hamas will last for one year, will include prisoner swaps for missing soldiers and civilians, and could create a cargo shipping connection between Cyprus and Gaza, The Times of Israel reported Aug. 16. The six-phase truce will also include a comprehensive cease-fire, medical and humanitarian assistance, the opening of Gaza's borders and Qatari-led reconstruction of Gaza's infrastructure. New York Governor Andrew Cuomo (shown), who faces a challenge for governor from the hard left, inserted foot into mouth yesterday when he blurted out what a minority of nutty progressives say: “America was never that great.” Cuomo quickly reversed himself and decided that America was pretty great after all. But that didn’t stop his fellow New Yorker, President Donald Trump, from launching one of his patented ALL-CAPS TWITTER MISSILES at the leftist, who never met a crazy cause he wouldn’t support. What He Said Speaking at a sex-trafficking bill signing, Cuomo apparently was trying to make sport of The Donald’s slogan “Make American Great Again,” which appears on hats and other paraphernalia at fine stores and websites everywhere. “We’re not gonna make America great again,” Cuomo grumbled. “It was never that great.” The crowd gasped.

Swordsmyth replied to a thread Mexico. in World News & Affairs
U.S. Energy Secretary Rick Perry praised the goal set out by Mexico’s incoming president to end massive gasoline and diesel imports, nearly all of which come from the United States, as a measure that will boost prosperity in its southern neighbor. During a visit on Wednesday to the Mexican capital in which he met with both current officials as well as key advisers to President-elect Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, Perry brushed off concerns that U.S. refiners stand to lose their biggest foreign market. “It’s a good goal for Mexico. I tip my hat to the president-elect for having that as a goal,” said Perry, a former governor of Texas, the most prominent energy producing and refining U.S. state. “I hope they’re successful with that transition.” So far this year, Mexico has imported an average of 1.19 million barrels per day (bpd) of fuel including gasoline and diesel, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. Fuel imports now represent 60 percent of the country’s total consumption, as crude processing at Mexico’s domestic refineries has steadily declined. Perry pointed to growing South American markets as potential new buyers of U.S. refined products, noting that Venezuela’s oil output has plummeted amid a major economic crisis. “We’re going to have more markets, most likely, than we’re going to have product,” he said.

As migrants continue to spill over the porous southern border, many politicians are calling the situation a “crisis” and are urging the government to do more. Some have even proposed putting up a fence along one of the longest borders in the world. The border in question, however, is not America’s border with Mexico, but Canada’s with the United States. Some estimate that as many as 400 a day are crossing the 5,525 mile border between Canada and the U.S. through non-official ports of entry and with provincial elections looming, the issue is causing political ramifications. This situation has created political tension across Canada, with conservatives laying blame for the “crisis” squarely at the feet of Justin Trudeau’s government. Shortly after President Trump took office, the Canadian prime minister issued a now-infamous Tweet saying that all refugees would be welcome in his country, with the hashtag #WelcomeToCanada. To those fleeing persecution, terror & war, Canadians will welcome you, regardless of your faith. Diversity is our strength #WelcomeToCanada — Justin Trudeau (@JustinTrudeau) January 28, 2017 Many, such as the opposition Conservative Party’s shadow Minister for Immigration, Michelle Rempel, have said that this created an unrealistic expectation that anyone could come to Canada. During emergency meetings in Parliament this summer on the issue, Rempel said she doesn’t think that’s sustainable, and added that she thought the “situation is going to get worse.” Those feelings have been echoed by leaders in the province of Ontario, who have called on the Trudeau government to do come up with a plan on how to deal with asylum-seekers, who continue to cross into the country in significant numbers. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police intercepted 7,326 people at the border between April and July.

The leader of Germany’s Left Party Sahra Wagenknecht has launched a new political movement called ‘Stand Up,’ which aims to be a voice for workers and to unite a divided left across Europe. While left-wing are not against immigration on principle, the new ‘Aufstehen’ movement presents a case for limiting the number of migrants coming to Germany looking for work, arguing that “unlimited access” to the German labor market is unsustainable and cannot continue. “There have to be open borders for the persecuted, but we certainly can’t say that anyone who wants to may come to Germany, claim social benefits and look for work — it’s detached from reality,” Wagenknecht said. With polls showing people want “better pay, better pension, a non-confrontational foreign policy regarding Russia,” Stand Up wants to offer them a “political direction.” Its goal, according to Dagdelen, is to present to people who were disillusioned with the current state of politics in Germany an alternative to the far-right Alternative For Germany (AFD). She says this is something the Social Democratic Party, the Green Party and the Left party had failed to do so far. “The AFD is getting strong and there is a chance for them to become the people’s party, which is absurd,” she said, but admitted that it was “understandable” that some people were turning toward right wing parties when they saw no other option. “Integration policy has pretty much rendered the minimum wage defunct. What was once a one euro job now only brings 80 cents,” she said. “People need to be able to earn a wage that lets them live in dignity. If this is not happening, it’s understandable that people become angry and lean towards right-wing parties.” A new poll found as many as 34 percent of German voters would choose the new movement if elections were held, according to Focus.de.

Disney and Marvel have decided not to reinstate James Gunn as director of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 after firing him last month. The studio head Alan Horn met with Gunn to discuss his future with Disney as “a courtesy to clear the air” with the filmmaker. According to Variety, Marvel president Kevin Feige – while rumoured to be supporting Gunn’s reinstatement – stands by Disney’s ultimate decision. Recent reports stated there were no plans to re-hire him as director despite a backlash from the world of celebrity including his Guardians cast who signed an open letter supporting his re-hiring. Dave Bautista later said the prospect of working on the sequel without Gunn was “nauseating.” Disney bosses announced they had “severed” ties with Gunn branding his comments “indefensible and inconsistent with values.“ Gunn previously apologised for the ill-judged tweets ahead of his employment by Disney for the first Guardians of the Galaxy back in 2012. Disney claims it had no idea they existed and only learned about them when they recirculated.

A star of the Netflix show “***** Eye,” Jonathan Van Ness, is getting heat from the left after he sent out a tweet calling for Democrats to stop demonizing Trump supporters. Not all republicans are racist. Just like not all democrars are evil, we have to stop demonizing eachother. Unless you’re actually racist then you suck, Trump is Racist – not all his voters are necessarily we gotta remember we are all in this together. — Jonathan Van Ness (@jvn) August 15, 2018 At this point, if they are still supporting Trump, they are racists at worst, don't care if people are racists at best. Sorry, @jvn I see no way around this. I've severed ties with family members who insist on supporting Trump. — MLWalley37 (@MLWalley37) August 15, 2018 This is the worst political advice ever. Progressive candidates that actually stand for something are how we win. Running towards the center with Clinton just gave us 4 years of Trump – let’s not be silly again. A campaign ad for a California Republican congressional candidate was banned by Twitter Thursday, in what is being seen as a deliberate act of midterm election meddling. Twitter cited “obscene” content for blocking Elizabeth Heng’s ad, which discusses her family’s struggle fleeing Cambodia following the rise of Pol Pot and the brutal Khmer Rouge communist regime. In a press release obtained by Breitbart, the Heng campaign said they attempted to appeal Twitter’s decision, but the company answered back saying the video was banned due to “offensive” material. “In recent attempts to advertise Elizabeth Heng’s campaign video on Twitter, the campaign has received a message from the company stating that upon review, the ad is ‘ineligible to participate in the Twitter Ads program at this time based on our Inappropriate Content policy.’ Twitter defined inappropriate content as ‘that which is offensive, vulgar, or obscene,’” the press release stated. After the campaign appealed the ban, Twitter sent back another message, bolding the word “obscene”: “When the campaign reached out for clarification on the exact content in violation, Twitter responded with the same message they had sent previously, highlighting the word ‘obscene’ in bold. The campaign pressed to resolve the issue, but was sent a final message from the Twitter Ads Support team saying they had reconfirmed that the ad was not eligible to run on Twitter and that they could ‘no longer assist or support any further requests.’” Facebook had also banned Heng’s ad just 10 days earlier, however the social media giant came to its senses and reversed its decision, saying there was nothing “shocking, disrespectful, or sensational” about it. “Upon further review, it is clear the video contains historical imagery relevant to the candidate’s story. We have since approved the ad and it is now running on Facebook,” Facebook officials clarified. In Facebook’s case, they had initially claimed the ad’s depiction of images from the Cambodian genocide violated a policy on content intended to “shock or scare.”

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced on Thursday that the United States has formed an "Iran Action Group" within the State Department to guide Washington's post-nuclear deal policy. The group will coordinate all activity and policy related to Iran, including inter-agency initiatives after President Trump withdrew the US from the 2015 nuclear deal in May. Pompeo told reporters the action group would be "directing, reviewing and coordinating all aspects of the State Department's Iran-related activity." It is to be headed by current State Department director of policy planning Brian Hook, who will in turn report directly to Pompeo. Hook has been a lead negotiator attempting to pressure European allies to significantly alter prior commitments related to the international deal. No sooner did Charlie Gasparino at Fox Business News drop the bomb today that Tesla's legal team is "bracing for billions of dollars in potential liability from private lawsuits" than a second proposed SEC formal whistleblower has now entered the picture, and according to Jalopnik, drumroll, he alleges that Tesla failed to let shareholders know that the DEA had previously uncovered an alleged Mexico-based drug trafficking ring involving "large quantities" of cocaine and crystal meth at the company's Nevada Gigafactory. The situation looks like it could be quickly spinning out of control at Tesla. Earlier this week, the New York Times reported that the board, who so far has come off as heavily sedated and generally missing from the picture, was finally apparently at odds with CEO Elon Musk about his use of Twitter and the potential liability he may have brought onto the company. It was then proclaimed by numerous former SEC attorneys on various news networks that SEC action based on Musk's "go private" Tweet is likely unavoidable. These sentiments were echoed today by a former SEC attorney on streaming financial news network Cheddar. Then, on Wednesday, whistleblower Martin Tripp (before he decided to delete his Twitter account due to hacking) took to the social media platform and dropped a list of Model 3 VIN numbers that he claims are vehicles carrying punctured battery packs. Now, after all of that, a former employee named Karl Hansen, who worked for Tesla's security and investigations division has sought formal whistleblower status with the SEC. What Hansen alleges is very different than what Tripp has claimed – and potentially just as serious. Hansen's complaint was filed on August 9 and was released by whistleblower attorney Stewart Meissner, the same attorney who is representing Martin Tripp. Jalopnik was first to break the story. Among his allegations is one that the United States Drug Enforcement Administration apparently revealed substantial drug trafficking by Tesla employees at its Nevada Gigafactory and that the company failed to disclose this to shareholders. Hansen alleges that the company received written notification from the DEA in May that there may be a trafficking ring involving "significant quantities of cocaine and possibly crystal methamphetamine" on behalf of a Mexican drug cartel at the Gigafactory. As an investigator, Hansen notified the company in early June that he had “corroborated connections between certain Tesla employees at the time and various alleged members of the Mexican drug cartel identified in the DEA report as located in Mexico, that he urged Tesla to disclose his findings to law enforcement and to the DEA task force, but that Tesla refused to do so and instead advised him that Tesla would hire ‘outside vendors’ to further investigate the issue,” according to the Jalopnik article.

The mayor of the ever increasingly violent city of London is now seeking a ban on cars in certain areas after a “car attack.” Since banning guns and regulating knives hasn’t worked, Sadiq Khan said he’s likely to ban cars to prevent future terrorist attacks. Violence in London continues to spike regardless of the weapons used by those committing acts of aggression. But since a gun ban and severe knife regulations have failed to stop violence, Khan wants certain areas to be “car free zones” in response to an alleged terror attack committed with a car. According to Politico, Khan says his proposed car ban would help keep people and buildings safe after car drives into cyclists and pedestrians. Khan’s proposal comes after three people were injured when police say a car collided with a number of cyclists and pedestrians before crashing into barriers that line the Houses of Parliament. Police have arrested a 29-year-old British citizen originally from Sudan, identified as Salih Khater by British media outlets, on suspicion of committing the attack. Police claim that the alleged terrorist drove his Ford Fiesta from Birmingham to London late on Monday night. Just before the attack, police say he had been driving around the area of Westminster and Whitehall for about an hour and a half before driving into pedestrians and cyclists. Khan told BBC radio that making certain areas only available to pedestrians would provide more safety to both citizens and buildings in the surrounding area. But he also said the city would need to ensure people “don’t lose one important thing about our democracy: People having an access to parliamentarians, people being able to lobby parliament and being able to come and visit parliament.” Khan added, “I think there would be lots of challenges if we would do the whole square. It is a thoroughfare for cars, vehicles and commercial deliveries going through London,” he said. “So it’s possible to have a designed solution … in keeping our buildings and people as safe as we can do. And also not losing what is so wonderful about our city that is a vibrant democracy, people can walk around safely.” Well, since all the other laws aimed at preventing violence have failed, why not just keep banning things? Pretty soon, everything will be illegal in the UK and the people will wonder when they actually became slaves to the government. “We enter parliament in order to supply ourselves, in the arsenal of democracy, with its own weapons. If democracy is so stupid as to give us free tickets and salaries for this bear’s work, that is its affair. We do not come as friends, nor even as neutrals. We come as enemies. As the wolf bursts into the flock, so we come.” –Joseph Goebbels

The Lira and Turkish stocks are sliding notably after Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin warned that Washington is preparing more sanctions for Turkey due to the lack of progress on the release of Pastor Brunson. Following a Turkish court's refusal yesterday to release American pastor Andrew Brunson, Mnuchin warned at a White House cabinet meeting today that U.S. has more sanctions prepared for Turkey if Brunson isn't quickly released. Additionally, as Bloomberg reports, President Donald Trump said during a Cabinet meeting at the White House on Thursday that Turkey hasn’t turned out to be a great friend to the U.S., and he complained that his administration secured the release of a Turkish citizen from an unnamed country on Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s behalf. “We got somebody out for him,” Trump said, from “some place,” but Turkey continues to hold pastor Andrew Brunson. It’s “not right” and a “terrible thing,” he said. The Lira is seeing the biggest dip in 3 days, erasing all overnight gains in just a few minutes... The Iraqi Oil Ministry has banned the use of Kurdish words in official documents, threatening Kurdish employees with lawsuits if they violate the ban, Kurdish media report, citing a document issued earlier this week by a senior Oil Ministry Official. “There are Kurdish terms used in most of the documents the NGC submits which is against the motion issued in 1968 to maintain the safety of the Arabic language,” Hamdan Uwaij Rashid, General Inspector at the Oil Ministry said in the statement, which was addressed to the North Gas Company. Apparently, the document is a follow-up on another one, issued by the Iraqi Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, which was circulated to all Iraqi institutions in August 2017. Interestingly enough, this was before the historic Kurdistan independence referendum that heated up relations between Erbil and Baghdad and eventually led to Iraqi forces retaking control of the city of Kirkuk and the surrounding fields from the Kurdish Peshmerga. The welfare voters didn't exist until the oligarchs created them as a tool, we must deny them the vote in order to take that tool from the oligarchs, we must also then guard against the oligarchs other tools and methods which they would resort to such as neo-fuedalism, I believe that that they are preparing to blame all the problems in the world on "democracy" and create a neo-fuedal "New World Order" after having used "democracy" for all they could get out of it.
