I think it is universal, and it is technology. The less we are required to think for ourselves the less we need to or will.

Senate Republicans voted Thursday to adopt a permanent ban on earmarks, in a move that signals as long as the GOP controls the chamber the practice of pork-barrel spending won’t return. A ban had been adopted every Congress since House Republicans imposed it after taking the majority in that chamber in 2011, but it needed to be renewed every two years. Sen. Ben Sasse said it was time for the GOP to make the ban permanent. “The last thing taxpayers need is for the same politicians who racked up a $22 trillion national debt to go on an earmark binge,” the Nebraska Republican said. He won the vote in a closed-door meeting of Senate Republicans.

The Senate Foreign Relations Committee passed a bill Tuesday that, if enacted, would call for sanctions over the mass imprisonment of potentially millions of Muslims in concentration camps in eastern Xinjiang province. building hundreds of “re-eduation centers” that it claims are “vocational training” facilities for Uighurs, Kazakhs, Kyrgyz, and other minorities. “concentration camps” – locations where they are taken by force to learn Mandarin, renouncing their Muslim faith, memorize communist propaganda songs, and engage in slave labor. Survivors report the widespread use of torture, including electroshock and sleep deprivation, killing up to 3 million Muslims and others of inconvenient ethnic or religious identity. Menendez (D-NJ) and Marco Rubio (R-FL) introduced the bill. It received widespread bipartisan support : Sens. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), Tom Cotton (R-AR), and Chuck Grassley (R-IA). The bill urges President Donald Trump to “condemn abuses against Turkic Muslims by Chinese authorities in Xinjiang and call on Chinese President Xi immediately close the ‘political reeducation’ camps.”

Very well said... It is a very poor precedent to support. The next president might be a Libertarian and will not be immune from this very same precedent.

What about the Father's rights in all this? When a male and female agree to the act of consensual reproduction they have entered into a 50/50 partnership contract in a joint venture that may or may not create a product. It is selfish breach of this contract, partnership, and joint venture that created this product if only one party in this contract claims 100% of all decisions concerning the fate or survival of that product.

I agree, Yet by example and common consensus even God's laws are too many, because in maintaining order over the few immoral they might also impose on the moral. The idea that there should be no laws at all is based on an unrealistic premise that all man will act civilized and respect each other in a civilized manner. It's an unrealistic and utopian concept that is impossible. There will always be predators who will prey on the weak. And if we discard all protections for the weak we have become no more than lowly animals in a state of the strongest shall survive. We would no longer be superior as Human Beings, we would be no more civilized than lowest of reptiles. Even dumb Bison will circle around the young and weak to protect the species. Yet as humans we would claim to be more intelligent and civilized than Bison and do not? Bison are not selfish by nature, Humans are by nature...

Now I absolutely agree with that having a Libertarian streak and also stand against these. There are far too many unnecessary laws. But we cannot claim to be civilized if there is not at least some minimal basic social order based on ALSO preserving and protecting life and Liberty of others too, not just our own self interests. Not having any social order at all, and promoting no social order at all can indeed harm others because of the environment they have been placed into.

Even the 10 commandments are considered too restrictive by most because indirectly their personal interests might be restricted by even these minimal moral standards that make us an intelligent and civilized species above other primitive lower species.

It would be very rare in my observations. What I see is no laws at all that might restrict one's personal self interests. From what I see you have no right to share even the ten commandments from the creator because even these might indirectlyrestrict self interest. Something else I do not see and is very rare is true concern for others over self. The Creator speaks of this virtue also yet it is ignored the most. What I see is sole survival of the fittest without concern for the species as a whole. Let's talk creator then... The second greatest commandment is: “You must love your neighbor as yourself.”—Mark 12:31; Leviticus 19:18. Jesus loved his neighbor, showing this by caring for the needs of others even to the point of giving his own life.—Matthew 20:28. Will loving others ahead of yourself reduce your happiness or self-respect?

And they are only given a pass for imperfection because they are useful tools to further one's own personal interests. Everyone else is held to a strict non-individualistic doctrine checklist when being judged by the "individuals". As soon as these representatives are no longer useful to further self interest they will be stoned, persecuted, and excommunicated just like everyone else impure. Sure... Because these Tigers are only concerned about threats to their own tails, they could care less about other Tigers or even the future survival of the species it's self.

As long as it doesn't restrict personal self interest, these are all totally acceptable forms of collateral damage to others.

Something I have observed over the years is that Libertarianism is pretty ironic in true practice. While preaching individualism and liberty, anyone who deviates from 100% rank and file lock step with the doctrine principles is stoned and persecuted as not worthy, even to the point of wanting excommunication from the public square. While the principles are sound, the true example in practice is hypocritical and anti-individualism. It's just like the Constitutional party claiming they "support Constitutional freedom of religion" just as long as it is a "recognized form of Christianity".

Members of the House Freedom Caucus voted Monday evening to condemn one of the group’s co-founders, Representative Justin Amash (R., Mich.) in response to his impeachment stand against President Trump. Representative Jim Jordan, the ranking Republican on the Oversight Committee and former chairman of the Freedom Caucus, told Politico that the group easily passed the 80 percent threshold for the adoption of a formal position. “It was every single person who totally disagrees with what he says,” Jordan said after the meeting, which Amash did not attend. Cyril Ramaphosa was elected unopposed as South Africa’s president by the National Assembly on Wednesday, while his deputy’s future was in doubt after claims from the ruling African National Congress of wrongdoing.Ramaphosa, who has vowed to clean up the government after his predecessor Jacob Zuma’s scandal-marred nine-year rule, is due to name a new cabinet after his May 25 inauguration following the ANC’s election victory this month. Under the constitution, his deputy must be selected from the ranks of the 400 lawmakers in the National Assembly, meaning David Mabuza could be disqualified from the position. A former schoolteacher, Mabuza, 58, was linked to a succession of scandals while he served as premier of the eastern Mpumalanga province, ranging from accusations that he helped to rig internal party votes and state tenders to having his opponents silenced and even assassinated. The allegations were described in a New York Times expose last year. Mabuza called the story “baseless” and has never been charged. “On the face of it, this is very positive,” said Daryl Glaser, a politics professor at the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg. “Mabuza is a deeply compromised individual. This certainly gives Ramaphosa an opportunity to clean up his administration.” Yet, the allegations that he has brought the party into disrepute are difficult to prove, and his decision to face the ruling party’s integrity commission could be part of a calculated move to strengthen him politically because he knows he will probably be cleared, said Mpumelelo Mkhabela, an independent political analyst. “He can still be sworn in as an MP and he can still be appointed deputy president,” Mkhabela said. “I think if he is cleared, he will be more emboldened and powerful than he is now.” Ramaphosa initially favored Higher Education Minister Naledi Pandor or International Relations Minister Lindiwe Sisulu to be his deputy, but gave the post to Mabuza who won the deputy leadership of the ruling party in December 2017 and helped him secure the top post. Mabuza’s ineligibility would clear the way for Ramaphosa to appoint whoever he pleases. More at: https://news.yahoo.com/south-african-deputy-president-reappointment-081120296.html
