MMT is just the latest smoke-and-mirrors attempt to hide and excuse socialism. There is no 'pool of underutilized resources' that can be more productively engaged if we accept more government intervention and socialist spending.

https://www.takimag.com/article/the-week-that-perished-104/ The Week’s Creepiest, Weepiest, and Sleepiest Headlines NEW TREND: DISTRICT ATTORNEYS WHO HATE THE LAW If, like us, you’ve been wondering why poor retarded blacks and rich entitled whites have been looting and raping and burning and smashing and punching and destroying things with impunity from Memorial Day to Labor Day and beyond, wonder no more—it’s because many of the people entrusted to prosecute them are on their side. Rather than viewing them as criminals, they see them as Noble Agents of Change. It’s the same reason that police followed what would appear to be illegal orders to “stand down” and let rioters run amok at Berkeley and Charlottesville a few years ago—because the Powers That Be have a vested interest in implementing a form of anarcho-tyranny that allows the lowest of the low to smash skulls with no consequences, while law-abiding taxpayers are afraid to even open their mouths for fear of eternal social ostracism and possible imprisonment. The District Attorney of San Francisco—where people poop with impunity on the streets—is a man of indeterminate sexuality named Chesa Boudin. He is the son of Weather Underground Leaders and cop-killers Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dorhn, who started out trying to destroy America through violence and figured out it was easier to destroy it by acting like a worm in an apple. Boudin has enacted rules that make it more difficult to prosecute criminal suspects. Boudin is a former translator for overweight Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez and is an eager suckling of the milk that leaks from George Soros’s saggy, wrinkled teat. Soros has contributed funds to help elect progressive DAs such as Boudin in San Francisco, Kim Foxx in Chicago, and Larry Krasner in Philadelphia. In Portland, the never-ending riots have been enabled in large part not only by the cowardice of Mayor Ted Wheeler, but by the local DA Mike Schmidt, who has summarily dropped charges against hundreds of rioters who’ve been tearing out the city’s entrails since late May.

I think that would be a good thing. I don't know if the Iranians would allow Assad to speak to Trump though, they continually refuse Trump's offers to talk to them.

It's not as if it is very many troops compared to how many he is pulling out of Iraq. (let alone Afghanistan) And it is a temporary deployment that will help prevent an incident that might be used to get us into a hot war in Syria.

Logs for every flight made by Jeffrey Epstein’s aircraft over 21 years have been subpoenaed, “sparking panic” among his rich and famous pals. The Attorney General for the US Virgin Islands, where Epstein had a home, has demanded logs for his four helicopters and three planes, from 1998 to his suicide last year. Denise George has filed a lawsuit against Epstein’s estate, alleging 22 counts, including aggravated rape, child abuse and neglect, human trafficking, forced labour and prostitution. As well as the passenger lists, Ms George is seeking any “complaints or reports of potentially suspicious conduct” and any personal notes the pilots made. The subpoena demands the names and contact details of anyone who worked for the pilots or who “interacted with or observed” Jeffrey Epstein or any passengers associated with him.

A step in the right direction is a step in the right direction and makes each further step easier. You will NOT eliminate all government schooling in one fell swoop, it simply isn't going to happen. It's no secret that Republicans take filling judgeships much more seriously than Democrats. President Trump released his first list of prospective Supreme Court nominees before he was even elected, back in September 2016, and - in what was taken at the time as a grim harbinger of RBG's condition - released his most recent revisions/additions earlier this month, just days before RBG died. But in the latest indication of just how low a priority selecting Supreme Court judges has been for Democrats - after all, they're not even in power, right? - Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden is reportedly refusing to release a list of potential nominees, should he ever get the opportunity to fill the vacancy left by the death of Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Politico reported last night that Biden is taking a "cautious" approach to filling the position. After making his initial statement on Saturday, the Biden campaign has shut down public activity, while Biden and his team retreat to the basement. Meanwhile, the Trump Campaign has been upping the pressure, calling on Biden to release a list of names. Democrats, including President Obama, have demanded that Republicans delay filling the seat until after the election. Mitch McConnell infamously killed the nomination of Obama's nominee, Merrick Garland, by refusing to bring a vote to the floor. While Biden himself was silent publicly, his campaign was laying plans to shift the focus of the looming Supreme Court nomination fight toward a referendum on the Affordable Care Act, according to his advisers. The high court is scheduled to hear the fate of Obamacare after the election. Against that backdrop Saturday, President Trump’s campaign and even some Democrats demanded that Biden release his own list of potential court nominees — which Biden has steadfastly refused to do. Nor has Biden addressed the mounting pressure in his party to take a position on abolishing the Senate filibuster or packing the U.S. Supreme Court if Senate Republicans confirm Trump’s nominee before Inauguration Day. Biden has opposed ending the filibuster outright and court-packing in the past, though in July he expressed an openness to consider eliminating the filibuster.

The only reason the voters were an issue is because they had not made their will clearly known in past elections, they had elected a leftist POTUS and a right wing Senate. The voters made their will clear in this cycle by giving us a Republican POTUS and a Republican Senate to handle any vacancies that occurred in this period. There is no hypocrisy.

The Washington Post's Erica Werner is reporting that the tentative deal has fallen apart: "A possible deal on a stopgap spending bill to avert a pre-election government shutdown looked uncertain late Friday after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin did not come to terms. Two Republican aides familiar with the situation said Pelosi (D-Calif.) had essentially backed out of a deal with Mnuchin that would have traded farm bailout money the White House wants for $2 billion in child nutrition spending Democrats want." That's a nice logical fallacy you have there. I gloat over her death BECAUSE I am pro life, she was the cause of uncounted deaths of innocent babies and her death clears the way to end the slaughter. I do not believe in self defeating pacifism, I stand with Sgt. Alvin York, he was a pacifist until he realized that in order to stop the killing he had to kill.

The time to play fair and be magnanimous is when the other side plays by the same rules, the left hasn't done that in generations.
