I see. Our most recent presidents haven't had adult children while in office. GHWB was an exception, maybe Reagan but he was a career politician. My point is that they didn't have the option to leave their business to the kids in the first place, because they either didn't have children of discerning age or they had no business.

Cleveland isn't sleepy. So his business is supposed to flat line and just belly-up while he's in office? Bullshit.

We need to put crypto-libertarians in the parties, forget about third party. The two can only be removed from power if they die first. Stuff the monster parties we've got with libertarian talent who can talk the talk and give the impression they're hardcore libs and cons to all the half-wits, while appearing to reach compromise across party lines, with fellow libertarians, for the good of the Party. Play on every district like a fiddle, appeal to the masses, amass a libertarian "America First Committee" network unofficially, follow publicly with all that partisan shit voters go for -- then stick it to the Republicrats for good. Reveal ourselves to the Jedi kind of thing. The means justify the ends; I don't see the liberty cause winning if we don't oust the monolithic party we've got from within. Republicrats are too religiously significant to Murka: as American as apple pie and fake tits. Murka's gotta think its still voting for/against the Dem/Rep parties, until they can identify and accept libertarianism w/o training whee;s.

You paid and kept your property, or the Taliban kill your family, take all your stuff, and make somebody else pay. That's my guess. Taliban were native reactionaries who'd joined the mujaheddin against the Soviets. They resented the barbarism of Osama bin CIA's hired thugs. They wanted a modern, ethno-religious state of their own, not a bunch of foreign savages, so they savaged the savages. Once the mujaheddin war lords were peripheral, they savaged their people. Talib-an means something like student (or learned) army. Imagine US students having complete control of America for about 5 years.

Yuval Steinitz, Israel’s energy minister, confirmed there had been contact between Israel and Saudi Arabia but said that Riyadh was eager to keep the cooperation a secret. "We have ties that are indeed partly covert with many Muslim and Arab countries, and usually (we are) the party that is not ashamed,” Mr Steinitz said. "It's the other side that is interested in keeping the ties quiet. With us, usually, there is no problem, but we respect the other side's wish, when ties are developing, whether it's with Saudi Arabia or with other Arab countries or other Muslim countries.” More at: https://www.yahoo.com/news/israeli-minister-publicly-confirms-contacts-150807982.html Why? Hell no, they're drops in the bucket. My opinion's this drama is pressure release, absolutely nothing more. Most of the stories are old and from women who totally knew what they were getting into; those with any traction are cleaning house a bit, which is good because anybody not coving their tracks always gets axed. These guys will bounce back, they're "good" people. You know skyscrapers aren't rigid, they're built to bend in the wind. That's all this is, the system working as it should.

Researchers in the US have discovered that when squirrels hibernate a protective process occurs in their cells which allows their brain to function with reduced blood flow and oxygen. When they awaken the animals suffer no ill-effects despite being deprived of essential nutrients. During an ischemic stroke the blood supply, containing sugar and oxygen, is cut off to the brain, causing cells to die, which often leads to paralysis and speech problems. Scientists from the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) believe that creating a drug which could trigger the same cellular changes of hibernating squirrels could prevent that brain damage. "If we could only turn on the process hibernators appear to use to protect their brains, we could help protect the brain during a stroke and ultimately help people recover," said first author Joshua Bernstock, a graduate student at NINDS. Researchers found that a cellular process called SUMOlyation goes into overdrive when squirrels hibernate, protecting their cells. They found that process could be boosted by the enzyme ebselen. When ebselen was injected into animal brain cells, they stayed alive, even when deprived of blood and oxygen. Further experiments also showed that ebselen boosted SUMOylation in the brains of healthy mice.

The gun lobby trots out an annual figure of 2.5 million such instances. I'll believe that over your FakeNews any day. We don't even know how many crimes are prevented that are not reported or not even attempted because of people keeping and bearing arms.

Ex-Georgian leader Saakashvili challenges Ukraine government Saakashvili declared Monday that Ukraine needs changes and said he's ready to form a new Cabinet. He also has vowed to push for the president's impeachment. While Poroshenko will be certain to ignore Saakashvili's statement, it raises the heat on the president, who has faced mounting resistance from former political allies like Saakashvili. Saakashvili, who stepped down in 2016 a year after Poroshenko appointed him governor of Ukraine's Odessa region, has led protests against Poroshenko, accusing him of stalling reforms and covering up corruption. Poroshenko stripped Saakashvili of Ukrainian citizenship this year, but Saakashvili forced his way across the border from Poland in September. Are you "perplexed" by white people? Temple University sociologist Matt Wray may have the answers. Wray, a self-proclaimed "expert on whiteness," is set to hold a forum at Dartmouth College on Feb. 2 to figure out "What's Up With White People?" The talk will be open to the public as Wray provides a "field guide" to learn about "the different types of white people and how you can learn to spot them in their natural habitats.” Wray says the event will offer “a sociological and cultural analysis of what produces and sustains” certain “white social types” such as President Trump, transracial former NAACP leader Rachel Dolezal, white nationalist Richard Spencer and leftwing Social Justice Warriors. Wray's presentation, first reported by the College Fix, is set to conclude with “observations about the implications of white self-differentiation for social issues like immigration, mass incarceration, and the growing epidemic of self-destruction among whites.” More at: http://www.foxnews.com/us/2017/11/20/dartmouth-college-to-host-whats-up-with-white-people-event.html

U.S. and Afghan forces have launched joint attacks on Taliban opium factories to try to curb the insurgent group's economic lifeline, officials from both countries said on Monday. U.S. Army General John Nicholson showed videos at a press conference of targeted aerial strikes against what he described as Taliban drug factories. "Last night we conducted strikes in northern Helmand to hit the Taliban where it hurts, in their narcotics financing," said Nicholson, flanked by Afghan Army Lieutenant General Mohammad Sharif Yaftali. Zimbabwe's military says longtime President Robert Mugabe has begun working toward "a definitive solution and roadmap for the country," even as he faces impeachment. The military says it has held further meetings with Mugabe since his national address Sunday night that defied calls to resign. In a press conference aired on state-run television, the military says it is encouraged by new developments that include "contact" between Mugabe and his recently fired deputy Emmerson Mnangagwa, who is now poised to succeed him and will return to Zimbabwe "shortly." https://www.yahoo.com/news/latest-zimbabwe-military-let-people-oust-mugabe-082900949.html

Haiti's president on Saturday heralded the re-establishment of the country's military after 22 years, a divisive issue in the impoverished Caribbean nation which has a history of bloody coups and political instability. Haiti has been without military forces since 1995, when former president Jean-Bertrand Aristide disbanded the army after returning to power following a coup, leaving the national police responsible for security. The army's comeback has been a divisive topic in a country still suffering from a catastrophic earthquake and a fierce hurricane in recent years, with critics and activists concerned that armed forces would meddle in politics and rob essential resources from education and health care. Haitian President Jovenel Moise on Thursday named former army colonel Jodel Lesage as acting commander-in-chief, moving troops closer to full operation. The appointment still needs to be approved by Haiti's senate.
