From James Rickards: These efforts are always portrayed in the most favorable light. Private parties talk about convenience and lower costs. Governments talk about putting pressure on tax cheats, terrorists and criminals. Governments always use money laundering, drug dealing and terrorism as an excuse to keep tabs on honest citizens and deprive them of the ability to use money alternatives such as physical cash and gold. But the so-called “cashless society” is just a Trojan horse for a system in which all financial wealth is electronic and represented digitally in the records of a small number of megabanks and asset managers. Once that is achieved, it will be easy for state power to seize and freeze the wealth, or subject it to constant surveillance, taxation and other forms of digital confiscation. The war on cash has two main thrusts. …1)make it difficult to obtain cash in the first place. U.S. banks will report anyone taking more than $3,000 in cash as engaging in a “suspicious activity” using Treasury Form SAR (Suspicious Activity Report). … 2) eliminate large-denomination banknotes. …

From Business Insider: The shots fired by governments to fight its war on cash may have several unintended casualties: 1. Privacy Cashless transactions would always include some intermediary or third-party. Increased government access to personal transactions and records. Certain types of transactions (gambling, etc.) could be barred or frozen by governments. Decentralized cryptocurrency could be an alternative for such transactions

The War on Cash, banning cash = To monitor and record every transaction; to monitor your behavior; to observe where you go, who you donate to, who you associate with; what businesses and organizations you patronize; what you buy; what you own; your patterns and behaviors and preferences; how much you save … To maximize collection of fees, fines and taxes, simply impose fees and skim them right off of every transaction To exercise total control: the ability to shut down any business, bank account, credit line; or all transactions. When all cash is gone and the computer says you’ve been frozen, every transaction is declined, who do you buy or sell or save? Provides the mechanism to prevent the common people from the ability to escape the ravages of mass inflation when it occurs by freezing, limiting how much or stopping altogether the conversion of electronic currency by purchasing hard assets such as gold or silver.

Well, maybe I can convince you to pay $5,000 for a used golf ball. I doubt it, because it's a known quantity that you can compare it to other things and find out its value is right around zero. Bitcoin is a collection of digital numbers that has value because people read the name 'coin' and other people before them have said it has value. It only exists as a currency in the mind and in computers. You can't even hold it like a zinc penny. The value can potentially go through the stratosphere short term but what goes up must come down. An EMP for example would completely destroy bitcoin.

Digital currency has no inherent value and is only as valuable as people perceive it to be. The article is correct, it is backed by nothing. Sooner or later it will be worth nothing. There is so much that can go wrong with Bitcoin, including a better currency that perhaps has real value taking its place. That said, I'd be rich if I had went all in when I first heard of it.

Just playing Devils Advocate... US dollars used to be backed by gold, which gave them their value. What is a digital currency backed by?

A Vietnam Veteran's take on war from lewrockwell.com: Though being ex-military with two combat tours in Vietnam (5th Special Forces Gp) and having a 60% VA disability to show for it) and two sons as military combat pilots I’ve belatedly come to the conclusion that no war we’ve ever engaged in ever settled anything for the better. The Civil War left this nation with psychic which persist to this day. WW I brought about the successful birth of Russian communism, which begat WW II, Red China, the Korean War, Vietnam, the Cold War, the idiotic Gulf War (which allowed us to congratulate ourselves over our ability to beat the hell out of a bunch of helpless camel-jockeys), and gave birth to the state of Israel, which has been stirring up trouble in the Middle East ever since and might well precipitate WW III. Our nation had long periods of no significant standing armies at all – from our own revolution to the Civil War, and thereafter until WW I the US had nothing but Western frontier troops, and after WW I until WW II we had little but underfunded nominal military forces. It wasn’t until the Korean War that we began maintaining a permanent standing military, which allowed us to leap into Vietnam, a bottomless quagmire, which we finally left, disillusioned, exhausted, and finally humiliated by a bunch of bandy-legged little rice-farmers, a ridiculous war in which success or failure was tallied by the “body-count.”

Insider Trading: Not only did MGM CEO and Chairman James Murren dump 450,000 shares, but MGM officers and directors, dumped $200 million of shares in a one week period in September. Contrary to Zippy's options theory, less than 1 % of these sales were options according to the SEC insider transactions reports. There was also heavy dumping of MGM shares by insiders more than six months ago as well, but the one week of dumping by insiders in September was massive. During the same time period there was no similar dumping by insiders at Wynn Resorts or LVS Sands resorts as both had steady and continuous net accumulations by insiders.

Go try a nice tasty bowl of Botulinum Toxin Type H. Only 1 ng (nanogram) will kill you. That volume is smaller than ONE red blood cell. Its also the deadliest known substance...

ANOTHER Drag Queen Entertains Small Children, This Time at Michelle Obama Library (REACTION) Anthony Brian Logan Published on Oct 17, 2017 A Long Beach congressional candidate says he’s “outraged” after a drag queen sporting demon-like horns was invited to read to children at a local library. Omar Navarro, a Republican candidate looking to unseat Maxine Waters for the 43rd District, posted an image of performer Xochi Mochi reading to kids as part of the Drag Queen Story Hour at the Michelle Obama Neighborhood Library on Saturday.

And this tells you Russia, and not, you know, Israel, are our enemy? Question: Is Rand praying at the Berlin Wall or the Wailing Wall? You must have tied your brain in knots to think this up... correlation isn't causation, nor does your theory cast much suspicion on Russia but on Israel. Israel gain from a distracted Europe and a war-weird America, with Neocons at the helm coaching politicians and the MSM into Russophobia. Iran loses; I'm not even sure what you're referencing in that last sentence... what's working for Iran?

I don't know what is wrong with the rep system that you get three neg reps and I'm only allowed to give you one. But Hillary didn't lie about her client nor did she say he was guilty of first degree rape. She said that was the charge. I did watch it and you lied. Further he didn't "get off." He plead guilty to a lesser charge. What Hillary said was "I got him off WITH TIME SERVED." He's still on the sex abuse registry the rest of his life. You have not identified a single legitimate ethical lapse in anything Hillary did or said in that video.
