Okay, here we go, please pay attention because the amounts are very important to get correct or they taste like shit/fall apart :). I used, 3 cans of chickpeas, these are 400g cans, 240grams after straining. 50grams of white all purpose flour, teaspoon of baking powder. Spices I don't think the amounts matter too much. Cilantro and parsley, the more you add, the more flour you'll have to add to bind it together. I used a nice handful of both herbs, about a cup full after chopping fine. Alternately, you can also roll them through flour right before you fry them, this will increase the crispness. Oh, and don't forget to add plenty salt!

I made fresh falafels... Taking leftovers to work tomorrow, with fresh middle-eastern salad and condiments.... Going to make colleagues take a run for their money. :D Easiest. stuff ever, Chickpeas, garlic, red onion, powders: Chili, cumin, coriander. Then a bit of flour and baking powder... But most importantly: loads of cilantro and parsley. Make nice dough (I used a stick mixer thingy), deep fry for a few minutes and done. If they fall apart on you, not enough flour, if they taste too much like flour, too much! And don't let anyone tell you canned chickpeas don't work, they do work. Fresh just tastes better if you have loads of time (Everything else I use is fresh though but honestly, canned chickpeas are perfect). Put in a pita or Lebanese bread with middle eastern salad, cilantro (more is better, in fact, it could replace lettuce), iceberg lettuce, garlic sauce and hotsauce.

That was a nice read. I've seen some documentaries on this case and it's still very interesting. Just a nice story, how nobody really got hurt and the hijacker got away with a bunch of money, never to be seen again. A parachute definitely is the most important accessory to wear when jumping from an airplane, apart from that, maybe not suitable but it could still work fine.

It's physics, everything is. Have no fear however, mass extinction is coming, we just don't know when. I know this because, we can not keep growing our population forever. In my opinion most problems that humanity is experiencing are caused by overpopulation. When I see people advocate for vegetarianism so we have more food to feed people instead of cattle, I appreciate their intent but it's foolish. Okay, everybody becomes vegetarian, we have more food, we keep procreating, then what ? What is the next limit, where there simply is no space anymore ? Will the world become one large city with a 100 billion people ? Probably not, mass extinction will kick in before that happens, it will come in the form of; war, disease and natural disasters. You can try to deny it but it won't change the fact I'm right. ;). It could start tomorrow, or maybe it will take a century. That I do not know.

Funny, I think we can agree the CR-V is an awesome car, but I probably like it for other reasons, the drivetrain and engine. I like how you say adult and kid friendly, I have to say, kids generally are really nice in my car when I ask nicely to not touch anything that doesn't need to be touched and to just relax and listen to the music.. I do adapt a bit when I have kids in the car, but not too much. Good thing your husband is helping out. I find that funny, men generally don't see a problem with their wife cleaning the house, however, as far as I know in most cases they clean the car.... :p Psychology is funny.

Sounds good! Even though a car is meant to be used, it's much nicer to drive if it's clean... I've got a 2007 and I would say the interior of mine is 95% of what it was when it was new. The exterior is a little fucked, scratches and stuff.

I do some detailing from time to time. Not a lot since I daily drive my car... 500mi each week, since it rains so much overhere it's not really worth it to keep the outside spotless. My rims are full of brake dust after a week... The inside however is easier to keep nice. I use a nice nylon brush to get the dust out of small gaps and stuff. Washing and oiling the leather seats/door panels. All plastic stuff gets a quick wipe with cockpit spray. Carpets are vacuumed. Windows are cleaned with an aerosol type window cleaner (great stuff.. spray it on, and wipe it off with a clean dry paper towel and the window looks showroom quality). I try to do this as frequently as I can, but usually most of these items happen every three months.. Seats maybe only once or twice a year. It costs some time to do but if you spend 10 hours each week in your car, you learn to appreciate the effort:p

Bad enough to exit your vehicle when you've obviously been told not to... but these people even let their kids out of the car. You can't fix stupid.

The Amish suicide rate is actually about half that of the general population (not zero). Yet the Amish suffer from other problems, including increased polydactyly (extra fingers), dwarfism, other genetic issues, etc. The problems we face as Americans won't be solved by becoming Amish (or Mennonites, or Hutterites), but we definitely do need to return to that sense of community that I remember from the 1970s, and that got stripped away in the 1980s.

This will be a little controversial here, but I think it started with Reaganomics, and the idea that "greed is good": that unrestricted profiteering would lead to a "trickle-down" effect, where the poor would benefit. But that didn't happen. The rich got richer, but the poor didn't benefit. During the Reagan years, the national debt tripled, and we became a debtor nation. The "greed is good" mantra convinced many otherwise good Christian people (and later their children) that it was okay to forget the teachings of the Bible and become greedy, robbing their neighbors and cheating friends. It just became "good business". We saw the effects of this greed a generation later in the 2006 economic crisis, where millions lost their homes, but the richest just became richer, in part due to a huge loss of ethics in the finance world. After Reaganomics, the policies of Bush and Clinton didn't rectify the track America was on. I think Perot could have turned things around, with his campaign to reduce the national debt, and his campaign against NAFTA, but once NAFTA was signed and millions of American jobs went overseas, we were screwed. Bush Jr's endless "War on Terror", and Obama's continuation of that unwinnable war (after campaigning against it), further emptied America's coffers. Improvements to infrastructure that could have been made here in the US were instead spent overseas. I personally witnessed the closure of post offices, schools, and other local government, which helped keep local money local, in favor of more centralized systems, which led to the closure of local businesses as people drifted to larger, more prosperous areas, as Rural Flight eroded communities, especially in the Midwest, but elsewhere as well. Trump is clueless, and will continue many of the same destructive policies: plenty of spending on the Military Industrial Complex, a continuation of the growth of the National Debt. This man, with his golden skyscrapers, is the very definition of Reagan's "greed is good" mantra. He's the very emblem of what has gone wrong in America financially.

I'd take one for free. I have friends who have had ex police dogs for as long as I can remember, they have had many. Most of them very sweet dogs, some came with a manual. Overall, no reason to euthanise them. Funny btw, how on the one hand, a dog like this is counted as an officer and on the other hand can be euthanised because they're surplus or too expensive to train. Eh, funny, no, fucking sad actually. But hey, government is made up out of people, so what do you expect.

Funny.. If it were Pu-238 (which it's most likely not), it would likely have been purchased FROM the Russians. (wikipedia) P.S. IMO Pu-238 is the most interesting radioactive isotope... Just look at the Voyager probes, still under partial power, after 40+ years..

I would disagree slightly. On paper gold is not backing our money. In practice however, it still holds this function to a certain extent. This is why it's still there (at least, we assume it is). It's a good hedge.

Well, dirty bomb ? With just one gram even that may be overstated, a dirty firecracker may be a more appropriate name... It's not the radioactivity per se that is causing the hazards. Pu-239 is an alpha emitter, which means, a piece of paper will fully protect you against the radiation that comes from it. However, inhalation of Pu-239 is very dangerous as these alpha particles would form, be absorbed by longue tissue and change your DNA. Ingestion through the digestive tract, less dangerous as most of it will come out the other end. In any case, a gram is not enough to be afraid about, unless someone just spilled it on your desk. :D

I would go if they paid me $92,990, apart from that, HELL NO. While I would love to circumnavigate the world in a boat, I'd like to do it in a sailing yacht. Not with a couple hundred tourists... No thanks. Btw, If you go together with a few people, you can purchase quite a nice sailing yacht for 92k x several people... And sell it afterwards, when you don't sink.
