She called 911 because someone in her yard was on drugs. Police shot her service dog. http://www.miamiherald.com/news/nation-world/national/article145655029.html A 2-year-old service dog in training named Crios is dead in Pueblo, Colorado, having been shot several times by police early Friday morning. That much is certain. But while the Pueblo Police Department maintains that its officer acted appropriately to defend himself from “serious injury,” the dog’s owner is accusing the officer of using excessive force and escalating the situation, according to local media reports. Leslie Hanson, who told the Colorado Springs Gazette that she suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder, reportedly awoke Friday at around 5 a.m. to noise in her front yard. Thinking someone was trying to break in, she told the Gazette she had the gun she owns in hand.

Like so many other things in the District of Calamity, it morphed from a welfare fund for disabled seamen to a position of national health nag. Post civil war of course. In 1798, Congress established the Marine Hospital Fund, a network of hospitals that cared for sick and disabled seamen. The Marine Hospital Fund was reorganized along military lines in 1870 and became the Marine Hospital Service—predecessor to today’s United States Public Health Service. The service became a separate bureau of the Treasury Department with its own staff, administration, headquarters in Washington, D.C, and the position of Supervising Surgeon (later Surgeon General).

Yes, this. For the medium to truly come to life, you need a full analog signal, from pickup, to mixing, to production.

Cop Executes Unarmed Navy Vet for Getting Out His ID — Not Charged http://thefreethoughtproject.com/caught-video-officer-kills-unarmed-vet/ By Jack Burns - April 21, 2017 Bell County, TX — The following graphic account of an officer-involved shooting from August 30, 2016, serves to illustrate the failures of modern-day policing, officer training, and complexities of demanding 100 percent compliance of the general population during a traffic stop. From the just released dash camera footage of Bell County, Texas Sheriff’s Cpl. Shane Geers, one can see the officer was in pursuit of a small dark colored SUV, sirens blazing. The man in the SUV was 59-year-old, Lyle P. Blanchard, a US Navy veteran. While it appears Geers was following a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed, the two vehicles weren’t going all that fast. Geers must have noticed an officer was following him, so he decided to pull over, as nearly all driver’s education courses teach us to do. That’s where the story begins, but it does not end that way for either man.

Thousands Sue Merck for Shingles Vaccine “Causing What It’s Supposed to Prevent” http://thefreethoughtproject.com/merck-shingles-vaccine-lawsuit/ By Annabelle Bamforth - April 22, 2017 Attorney Troy Bouk was recently interviewed by Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins to discuss the shingles vaccine Zostavax, the issues related to its effectiveness and the problems that are associated with the product, including the fact that the drugmaker’s vaccine seems to cause the very affliction that it seeks to prevent — and, according to a massive lawsuit, thousands of victims agree. While we have everyone from attorneys to biologists, to political scientists who contribute to the Free Thought Project, none of us are doctors, so we do not make recommendations about what you and your family should do in regards to vaccination. That being said, the drug makers have an incentive for you not to see this information which means it will not be reported on in the mainstream media as their advertising dollars are tied directly to these companies. So, we find that it is our duty to spread this information and with your help sharing it, we can have a massive effect.

MARC J. BERN & PARTNERS LLP Files Lawsuits For A Hundred Individuals Against Merck Alleging Shingles/Zostavax Vaccine Is Defective* http://bernllp.com/lawsuits-filed-against-merck-alleging-shingles-zostavax-vaccine-defective/ MARC J. BERN & PARTNERS LLP, the attorneys who last month filed their first complaint in Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas on behalf of Jorja Bently, today have filed complaints for another 100 plaintiffs against Merck regarding its Shingles vaccine, Zostavax. The assertions are wide ranging and include plaintiffs claiming to have suffered various side effects which include contracting shingles, chickenpox, high blood pressure, intense neuropathic pain, eye injuries, headaches, dizziness amongst others. It is alleged by Marc J. Bern & Partners LLP that “Merck knew and had reason to know that its Zostavax vaccine was inherently defective and unreasonably dangerous as designed” that “Merck downplayed the serious and dangerous side effects of its product to encourage sales of the product; consequently, Merck placed its profits above its customers’ safety.” According to founding Partner Marc J Bern, the firm is currently representing nearly 5000 claimants and has thousands more filings to follow. “We have been investigating this drug for quite some time. We steadfastly believe in the merits of this litigation. This vaccination is at best 50 percent effective. Either it is not effective or it causes shingles or a host of other side effects. What is most troubling is that Merck had a better alternative on hand when this product was released.” says Bern.

Crank was "clean" back before the precursor chemicals were banned in the 80's and you ended up with this bathtub poison on the streets now. So why not have both? (Or so I figured at the time)

Now, take a moment to consider: How many other "retro" technologies have been left behind in the dust of "progress" that may have, in fact, been better that what was promoted to replace them? Or consider how big the market would be for "retro" devices that are prohibited to you by various fatwas issued by Uncle Sucker's regulatory jihadists? Imagine a world where you could buy a simple and affordable car that was not festooned with 15 explosive blimps in the passenger cabin, 5000 computers and more software than a Space Shuttle? Or a washing machine that :gasp: fills up with water and actually washes them, thus rendering them clean?

Vinyl Sales Aren't Dead: The 'New' Billion Dollar Music Business https://www.forbes.com/sites/jordanpassman/2017/01/12/vinyl-is-officially-booming-the-new-billion-dollar-music-business/#32f1f56c4054 Vinyl records are projected to sell 40 million units in 2017, with sales nearing the $1 billion benchmark for the first time this millennium. This impressive milestone has been untouched since the peak of the industry in the 1980s. While explosive by today’s standards, according to Deloitte, in its heyday (‘81), total vinyl album sales surpassed 1 billion units in just that year alone. The record industry’s hunters and gatherers have been busy collecting. According to Deloitte, new vinyl records and revenue will enjoy a seventh consecutive year of double-digit growth in 2017. But the slice of the pie is still a very small one - with broader music industry revenues projected to be approximately $15 billion this year, vinyl will account for only 6%.

That's why secession and break up is critical. When an empire dies, it can plunge the whole world into a dark age. For the people in the empire, they are subject to autocratic tyranny. The future is California. One party rule by "super majorities".

War and empire of the neoconservatives? Stifling taxation and regulation of the economic "liberals"?

Yes, there is: Buchanan has faced his share of critiques, but no one has hit him harder than Trump. In retrospect, it’s astounding that the man who used Buchanan’s playbook to win the White House had previously bashed him in the most ruthlessly ad hominem terms imaginable—yet Buchanan used his columns to cheerlead Trump’s 2016 candidacy from Day One. The explanation for this became clear once I accepted that Trump had done something entirely out of character: According to multiple sources, Trump called Buchanan out of the blue some five years ago, when the former candidate was a regular guest on “Morning Joe,” and apologized for all of the hurtful things he had said. “He made amends,” Bay Buchanan, Pat’s sister and former campaign manager, says of Trump. “Long before he got into the presidential , he reached out to Pat and apologized for what he’d done, realizing it had been wrong. … My brother is a very forgiving guy, and if someone asks for forgiveness, he’s going to deliver it.”

Trump never said Mexico would pay for the wall directly. But rather, that money will be recuperated with trade deals, such as opening thousands of Taco Bells in Mexico, and because the success of that will be tremendous, the US will recover the billions spent on the wall in about 2 years from that single deal alone. Taco Bell in Mexico is gonna be huge

Pacelli: I had totally forgotten about that thread and am not sure why Stu brought it back up.

That was my initial thought: that you and I are friends on RPF so what's the big deal. Why bring this crap up Stu??

When I started posting a lot here again about a year ago, a lot of members thought the same way as you did back then.

FOX/GOOGLE DEBATE Question+Response Count

by pacelli on 09-22-2011 at 08:59 PM
So I've been sitting here tracking the number of questions & responses for each candidate during the Fox/Google debate. I didn't use a stopwatch, so this is merely the number of times each candidate spoke-- omitting of course things that shouldn't really be counted, like when Santorum was unsuccesfully trying to interrupt people, but not really saying anything of substance. I did include in the count responses permitted by the moderators when the candidates were taking turns bantering back and

Freedom Living: Organic Lawn Care by Paul Wheaton

Organic Lawn Care For the Cheap and Lazy

Lawn care in a nutshell:

Must do:
o Set your mower as high as it will go (3 to 4 inches).
o Water only when your grass shows signs of drought stress and then water deeply (put a cup in your sprinkler zone and make sure it gets at least an inch of water).
Optional:
o Fertilize
