In one of Gaddafi's many awesome speeches at the Arab League Summit in Damascus (2008ish), here he is protesting the assassination/extrajudicial killing of Saddam Hussein.
Assad and others are laughing, because Gaddafi is joking about the absurdity of how they're all just letting it happen without question.
I always think about this speech when I see the shitstorm they've thrown at Assad post-Libya.
Imagine they will probably have to unlock all of them and move them where they belong and then lock them again. There were several of those trains of carts scattered around the lot. Actually smart idea for the guy to get his quarter back. Just stick it into the closest cart you can find.
I went to Aldi today and noted that they have a problem. People decided to leave their cart in the parking lot. Then other people hitched their carts to the ones left out there and now there are trains of hitched carts all over the parking lot.
The B52 is still in service, a new one has not been built for over 60 years.
There is no reason that the F14 and FA18 for the Navy and the F15 and FA16 for the Air Force could not have been steadily upgraded with advanced electronic warfare capability, while the transition to pilotless aircraft was made without this flying fuckup costing billions in the meantime..
This is correct, it was a full and unconditional pardon for everything he did or may have done over a ten year span of addiction, corruption and back room dealing with foreign adversaries.
Pretty impressive when you think about it, I'll have to do some research, but I am seeing this pop up all over: that this was the most comprehensive pardon ever granted by a president.
I think the sentencing hearing was coming up for in mid-December for the existing convictions. I assume it was to save Hunter the trouble/risk of being handcuffed and jailed after sentencing.
The reality is that for thousands of years opiates were not a problem and neither were those that used them. It wasn't the drugs that were the problem but society that made them illegal. The world would be a different place if people could grow their own poppies and harvest their own opium.
I think it is less complicated than all that.
People don't work because they have no need to work. They can live relatively comfortably without working. They are supported by someone else.
