 Because no government in the history of the world, including the U.S. has ever given start up capital to a promising industry right? Give people student loans worth $100,000 that 40% of them can't pay back, but God forbid somebody get a loan to start a lemonade stand. Okay. Yep. Yep.

You guessed right. That's all I'm doing, is pointing out where he is doing right and should be encouraged or supported. And I can dig that, reasonable people can reasonably disagree. For the record, I think police power could be reduced, significantly, while still addressing the issue of who is allowed into the country, for what reasons, and what to do with people who ignore those reasons.

Which is why blocking H1B visas is stupid. IT is the industry that it is the easiest to outsource to another country. Many Indian IT professionals are now going to Canada and Toronto's tech sector is booming. See: http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?527472-200-Increase-in-Canadian-H-1B-Visas Banning H1B visas is an monumentally stupid idea.

And that's called being nativist you retard. Also why do you think I pointed out the opposition to H1B visas? If it was all about "keeping out people who aren't intelligent enough to understand liberty" then there wouldn't be a push to keep out the smartest people in the world.

Dannno, I had a nativist jackass here ask me repeatedly if I would support the right of individual landowners murdering women and children who might cross their land to get into this country. That is nativist in the worst way. The people screaming to end H1B visas are also being nativist. They aren't trying to keep people out because they are "poor" or "ignorant" but as some kind of jobs program. So go suck an egg.

I will vote for the republican candidate for governor in Tennessee, Bill Lee. He seems honest enough. I will not vote for either the democrat Phil "I want to add a 20% payroll tax to pay for healthcare but you might still have to buy a private plan on top of it" Bredesen nor republican Marsha "Let's have a national ID card to stop illegal immigration because we have to destroy freedom in order to save it" and "I haven't seen a war yet I didn't like" Blackburn. Sadly our gadfly libertarian senate candidate Daniel whathisface (Lewis I think) didn't get on the ballot this time. (I looked). We've got about 20 independents running for governor and 20 independents running for senator and not a single third party candidate. Strange. Hey, if I write in Ron Paul for senate in Tennessee will that count? Or maybe I can write in Matt Collins as he at least used to live here? Anyway, Marsha's opened up a 14 point lead of whoopass on Bredesen. Otherwise I'd have to rethink and consider actually holding my nose a voting for Mrs. Blackburn. The other sickening thing about Bredesen is that his claim to fame is "fixing" Tennessee's medicaid program, Tenncare, but kicking hundreds of thousands of people off, including people with terminal illnesses who were facing bankruptcy. https://www.tennessean.com/story/news/politics/tn-elections/2018/09/18/phil-bredesen-tenncare-tennessee-us-senate-marsha-blackburn/1217149002/ Why do I bring this up? Because I here uninformed people say "Vote for Bredesen because we need to expand medicaid." Really? First of all even if he got elected senator that has nothing to do with whether or not a state decides to agree to medicaid expansion. That's up to the governor and the democrat in that race is behind 20 points. Second Bredesen is the one that kicked people off! And third, a program that is unsustainable at the state level could bankrupt the entire country if it is done nationwide. Unsustainable is unsustainable. Why get people hooked on government dependence? Anyway, he ain't gonna win. Bill Lee doesn't need my vote any more than Marsha Blackburn needs it, but so far I like Bill Lee.

The strategy Rand Paul has been using since he first started running for senate. That said, Rand's speech contained none of the nativist crap that has been so popular with much of RPF these days.

He hasn't won my support. I didn't vote for him the first time. I won't vote for him the next time. I support policies, not politicians. Prison reform is a good policy. And it is a good policy that, when enacted, will shrink the size of the federal government. I oppose Trumps border wall because that expands the size of the federal government. Your Hitler analogy was illogical because in your example Hitler was winning support by growing the government, not shrinking it. A more apt analogy would be would I support Hitler's successor, had Hitler won the war, closing down at least some of the concentration camps and freeing the prisoners. Trump didn't start the wars in Afghanistan or Yemen nor did he pass and/or defend the Patriot Act, which is what gutted the 4th amendment, nor did he pass the Clinton crime bill which is the driving force behind mass incarceration. My main criticisms of Obama is the new evils he did, like the wars in Libya and Syria, as opposed to the evil he inherited from a previous president. And exception to that is the Obama administration bombing the Doctors Without Borders hospital because that is especially heinous. Thank you for pointing out the little girl that died in Yemen. Sorry to hear about that. But that doesn't come close to the level of bombing a freaking hospital! It's unlikely that the little girl was the primary target. The pilots who bombed the hospital were recorded saying "This is probably a war crime." And before you say "I don't support Obama either" I'm not saying that you do. I'm talking about how I judge presidents which is on individual actions. And this individual action by Trump will be an unqualified good thing if he happens to pull it off. Emphasis on the word if. Trump is already getting opposition from Republicans like Jeff Sessions who want to "lock em up and throw away the key." And democrats are sabotaging and effort that would be good for their own constituents because they are afraid of losing them. Libertarians are supposed to put principle over everything. Ron Paul, no friend of Trump, supports Trump when he actually does something right. I am doing the same thing.

A whopping 40% of people between the ages of 25-34 were unemployed in 2017, according to the Nigerian National Bureau of Statistics. As the country’s population continues to grow—the median age of in the country is only 18—the economy is struggling to create jobs at a sufficiently fast pace.

Nothing new for Matthew...wasn't he the one preaching to all of us how we should work within the system, learns it's ways and means through study and expensive political theory classes? Look, I need a Representative that is actually IN government. I'm sure you and I could each represent each other on 99 out of 100 issues. But it does no fucking good to have the representative sitting with you at the bar sipping bourbon while we bitch at other about how fucked up government is. Right now, at this time in history, I'd rather have somebody that I agree with 80 percent of the time actually IN government and able to DO something, or more correctly STOP something, than somebody I agree with 100 percent who is outside just like me and can do nothing.
