Your view is the MMT view on interest rates. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Modern_Monetary_Theory#Government_bonds_and_interest_rate_maintenance The high interest rates of the of the late 70s were caused by a dramatic increase in the money supply. High interest rates= easy money Low interest rates = tight money Also helpful reading. https://www.econlib.org/library/Columns/y2013/Hummelinterestrates.html

Most amusing in all this is this kid's mom has a gofundme. Wonder if people who donate to a gang member who shot at someone will get doxxed and shamed like people who donated to Rittenhouse. So donating to bailout rioters in Minneapolis and donating to a gang member is okay. Donating to a guy fighting domestic terrorism is bad. Got it.

Underpinning everything is the assumption by the media that Democrats are really good people and anything offensive is just misspeaking and Republicans are racists terrorists and any statement is a dog whistle to stormfront and Nazis.

    1. It was an isolated incident. Saying as such implies Shapiro believes the police were in the wrong, as opposed to more common incidents when criminals are justifiable shot by police. 2. His criticism of Obama had nothing to do with Obama being outraged at what happened to Castile. See point 1.

Those are two instances and most people police killings aren't from being killed by asphyxiation. George Floyd was a lifelong scumbag who would be back in prison if he didn't get killed. He put a gun to a pregnant woman's stomach. "Garner had been arrested by the NYPD more than 30 times since 1980 on charges such as assault, resisting arrest, and grand larceny." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Killing_of_Eric_Garner And he died because he was a 500 pound slob. The point isn't that cops don't abuse power. Of course they do. But the cops aren't looking to kill people. Almost all of these killings are avoidable if you follow the law and behave like a civilized human. George Floyd and Eric Garner weren't fighting for freedom and standing up to tyranny. They were scumbags who made a living violating the rights of others.

Actually I do know. 14 unarmed blacks were shot in 2019. "the Washington Post’s database of fatal police shootings showed 14 unarmed Black victims and 25 unarmed white victims in 2019." https://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2020/07/03/police-black-killings-homicide-rates-race-injustice-column/3235072001/ And of those 14, probably 8 to 10 were justified because it looked like the unarmed person was grabbing a gun or was trying to attack an officer like Michael Brown. These killings are are a rounding error. Lightning kills 49 people a year. Cops wrongly kill about 5 black people a year. March against the real killers- lightning strikes.

Wasn't an allegation. It is a fact. They have her on video. It is the whole reason the raided her place. And of course, drugs should be legal and these raids shouldn't happen. But they are illegal so don't get involved in them. Right. Because it happens at a very tiny rate. You are talking about maybe 5 or 6 instances a year in a country of 340 million.

Actually I see no people criticize that guy. I actually used him specifically as an example in my post responding to the 7 year old as the exception and edited it to make shorter. The reality is that guy is a rare case. Michael Brown, Adam Toledo and the other examples I listed are the rule. Do you how I know that? Because if there were better martyrs, then the activists would hold them up. Instead you have Jacob Blake being held up as a hero. In almost every case of national prominence the person being killed by police is a degenerate.

Those are the rare exceptions. The rule are the people I listed. Another example I forgot is Breonna Taylor. Maybe don't date and transport money for drug dealers and you won't be in a position of being raided. That isn't a big ask. People who do well in school, pull up their pants, aren't covered in tattoos, and who aren't belligerent with police don't have problems in life. Police aren't shooting them. Of course people have the right to look like they are in the Crips. They can angrily argue with police. They can rob stores. And they should not get shot by police. But they are opening that door. Maybe white people don't get shot in those situations. But that shouldn't be the focus. In virtually every instance of police shootings, the person shot opened the door to getting shot by making poor decisions.

Pro tip: A good way not to get shot by the police is to not a fire a gun in a city at 2:45 AM and then run from the police while holding it. I feel like if I were black the odds of me getting shot by the police would be zero percent. You ever notice that almost everyone (not all) of these people killed by cops is a complete life screw up. For example Michael Brown, Lil Homicide, George Floyd, the people in the Charlotte and Milwaukee shootings that lead to riots, that guy in Atlanta shot at the drive thru out on parole, etc. It is never "Black neurosurgeon randomly shot by police while leaving the golf course". That story doesn't exist. It's More like "23 year old who has been in and out of jail seven times who just robbed a 7/11 and was fleeing police shot while turning around" Maybe police could handle those situations better. But when they happen all day every day in every big city, these kinds of things are going to happen.

Central banks don't directly determine interest rates by price fixing. Central banks control inflation. And the rate of inflation determines interest rates. 12% mortgage rates implies double digit inflation. So you basically are demanding super easy money from the Fed. And if you are having trouble comprehending this you should move to Argentina. You can get 40% CDs there. You would really be in heaven.

Democrats and Republicans have built their entire political strategies on bribing voters. Republicans use tax cuts but no spending cuts. Democrats cater to unions, trial lawyers, letting people default on student loans, affirmative action, reparations, etc. This whole replacement thing Tucker Carlson is in is not controversial to anyone with a functioning brain. Democrats were anti-immigrant for 70 years. The reason was unions were against immigration because they believe more workers drive down wages. Now that unions have less power, the Democrats made a bet on changing demographics through Hispanic immigration. Democrats love to cite the Preamble of the Constitution about general welfare. What's amazing about that is the guy who wrote it was Gouverneur Morris and he HATED democracy and welfare. He didn't think the Constitution went far enough in only letting property owners vote. He thought a person who worked for wages and who wasn't a business owner shouldn't be allowed to vote.

    P. Diddy is really really stupid. It makes no sense that 15% of marketing dollars should go to black owned media outlets. Black owned media outlets are probably .1% of the total media market. Lighting money on fire by advertising with companies that no one reads seems like a really bad strategy. I have never in my life heard of Revolt. And the fact that P. Diddy is shitting on an advertisers is something else.

John Oliver is horrible and dishonest and this piece is no different with his smears against Cruz and Mick Mulvaney. That said.... Debt and deficits can influence inflation, but ultimately monetary policy entirely determines inflation. Japan had deflation running the biggest deficits in world history because money was extremely tight. The problem with government spending is it consumes resources and changes incentives and slows long term growth. But the current big spending probably isn't going to end in calamity. It is far more likely to end in a period of perpetually slow growth with high interest rates and high taxes.

Literally zero economists including the most hard core Rothtardians would agree with your analysis about wealth or the minimum wage. Not one. On the entire planet. There isn't even a point in trying to go further into your analysis. The median wage wouldn't be the equivalent of $450k. When you get a ridiculous number like that you should assume what you did was wrong. Here is the reality as has been shown numerous times. CPI overstates inflation over the long run.

Michael Bloomberg provided an update on who is behind the wave of Asian hate crimes. "Ninety-five percent of your murders and murderers and victims fit one M.O.,” Bloomberg told the Aspen Institute audience. “You can just take the description, Xerox it and pass it out to all the cops: They are male, minorities, 16 to 25. That’s true in New York. It’s true in virtually every city.”

Yeah. It's insanity. The country has 340 million people and the focus is on the two people killed. Or the couple of unarmed black people killed by cops. Whereas drug illegality probably kills at least ten thousand from violence and unsafe drugs. Tens of thousands are likely killed from the slow FDA process that keeps life saving drugs off the market for years and limits access because of the high cost to get a drug approved.

Every shithole country in world history has gone down the AOC road. Her ideas are an actual existential threat. Once a country starts failing it can take decades if ever to recover. But instead the focus is on the epidemic of about a dozen Asians killed by white people every year.
