This is a third party video - posted without comment. There is a certain balance / value of understanding what is being said / done on the web vs letting there be open promotion and organization in favor of this. As said here, no one is soliciting for donations, setting up money bombs or the like. We're just not going to be a complete echo chamber and put our heads in the sand either. This video helps provide some context to the political movement that is out there, which is obviously not in line with our Mission. There is no intent for there to be a double standard, you're welcome to PM me specific issues or just flag posts that violate the guidelines. Our goals is to moderate to the guidelines. Your bans have been for pushing white nationalism which is something that we have a major issue with since it can poorly reflect on the sites Mission.

Closing -- too much bickering (much deleted), not enough analysis on topic.

Let's please keep everything civil. Could you please PM me with any kind of evidence that a Mission supporting member here supports gun control? This is not something that we've seen at all so I'd like to hear your argument (without public attacks). This type of logic has been disproved and rejected here endlessly, please try to use functional arguments to support your positions.

Scotland Yard is to set up a unit which will be tasked with investigating offensive comments posted on the internet. The police force, Britain's biggest, plans to spend £1.7 million to set up its Twitter cop-squad. The Home Office will also be putting £452,756 into the Online Hate Crime Hub, which is due to run for two years. Five detectives will run the squad, supported by army volunteers who will be trained in the art of quashing online trolls. Liberty, this small little word is one that I believe is of the cornerstones of human existence. This word has caused great wars like the American Revolution to commence and it has caused intellectual arguments from thinkers like F.A. Hayek to Ayn Rand. To me, this simple word is the reason why I wake up every morning. I know that I can make a difference that may affect those around me who are suffering from the lack of this little word. Often times, I spend my days feeling discouraged by the environment that I see our country slowly slipping into. However, after these four days spent at the Young Americans for Liberty National Conference, I cannot help but smile. Yes, I may have about six blisters scattered on my toes causing me pain. I may have only slept around five hours each night. Assurance from the events that have transpired, I know that I will #BeTheNext. Continued: https://www.theodysseyonline.com/meeting-ron-paul

The range would be based on intent, which isn't always known. Some people do use negative collectivism as a form of hate, others use it to draw conclusions about someone that may or may not be true. I agree that knowledge is never bad, but what one has to be careful of is false knowledge - this is something that the mainstream pushes hard and why people think they understand liberty (and can celebrate it) while they have very little liberty. That's a statistic, and what can be concluded from it? Really, the only true conclusion is that 65 percent of men in that group spend time in jail - any other conclusion would need its own study / analysis. You can't otherwise extract information where there is none.

Thanks. I've never seen it as a problem to discuss issue in an intelligent and civil manner, so this is all fine. We don't ban people on a whim, either. Yes, I would consider it to be "positive collectivism". As I said, "negative collectivism" is "At best, this is lazy and anti-intellectual. At worse, it is hateful." So I would consider "positive collectivism" to be lazy and anti-intellectual if you are trying to make a functional point. I understand it can be a harmless way to offer praise or admiration, but saying something like "<some race> people tend to be very honorable" - doesn't mean anything from a tangible perspective.

As I told you via rep, you can certainly discuss the issues, just drop the name calling.

Exactly, 100% spot on. +rep We'll allow some latitude in "Political Philosophy" discussions as here, but otherwise please flag such cases using the triangle with the "!" on it, these positions are against our Mission and should not be generally promoted. Thanks.

I see the issue as casting negative characterizations of the groups, hence the "negative collectivism". As said, it can range from anti-intellectual to hateful. Collectivism on its own, such as for study of tends, etc, isn't inherently a problem.

Sure, the point is it leads to no change in your liberty. Right, no issue. So possibly of interest for some academician, but nothing for policy.

permabanned as in the site system won't expire the ban. permabanned don't account for human intervention, which can happen if there is reason to see that behavior will change.

I don't mind people attacking me as he was doing, as long as there isn't gross disinformation about me or the site which he never did. After coming off a temp ban, let's just say he decided to exit the site with a nuclear option (shared destruction).
