Hydro is one of the most efficient forms of power generation (also "green" if one cares about such nonsense). If the yellow-bellied weasel-fish must go extinct to further the goals of the rightful masters of this planet, tough. ...we could hold a hearing, but neither the weasel-fish nor the trees would have an opinion.

Even supposing he was railroaded, there are millions of criminal defendants every year facing all kinds of charges, some improperly. Why do I care about this one, as opposed to, say, some guy who was falsely accused of robbing a 711? Is this news just because he's part of the ruling class? That is why you folks care about him more than Rufus Smith, 711 robber? See above

I'd be interested to know why anyone in favor of the pardon has any affection for Gen. Flynn (for the record, I don't care one way or the other). ...don't tell me why the Dems are bad, tell me why Flynn is good. What has he done for us lately, or ever?

Why, it's almost as if the recent talk of peace in the middle east, between countries like Israel and Saudi Arabia, which have been cooperating for decades, and between which there was never the slightest chance of war, is a propaganda effort designed to obscure the formation of what is in fact a new and aggressive anti-Iran alliance.

What Trumpism means by corporatism is the existence of private enterprises like Facebook that don't like them. Like racial or other minorities who cannot tolerate voluntary (dis)association, they want the federal government to pass laws forcing these private enterprises to serve them at their lunch counters, because muh rights (to your property). Then, what Trumpism means by America First is higher taxes on imported consumer goods for the benefit of inefficient American manufacturers (which are inefficient as a result of policies like loose monetary policy other kinds of bailouts that Trumpism endorses wholeheartedly). Corporatism obviously doesn't have anything to do with giant increases in "defense" spending, which are obviously required to MAGA. Maybe that can be worked into the new party name: something something workers' party.

Because of all the instances in which he's promoted a big government president. Just yesterday, IIRC, I saw Rand on Cavuto vehemently criticizing the massive government spending of this year. Well, that's good, right? Yes, but... He went out of his way to blame it on Mnuchin; he refused, even with prompting from Cavuto, to say lay even the slightest blame on Trump (i.e. the person who hired Mnuchin and must approve everything he does). Why does that matter? TDS? No, it matters because, so long as people think that Trump is somehow fighting for small government, and it's just his advisors or other people (who he has himself appointed!) who are responsible for the fact that federal policy has moved in exactly the opposite direction, people who care about small government will keep voting for Trump, or the Trumps of the world, if Trump himself is done. Let me put it this way. Imagine if Ron Paul had constantly criticized the Obama administration for their gigantic government spending, but blamed it all on some bureaucrat, while claiming that Obama himself was a libertarian.

That's certainly true, but it's also true that human beings overwhelmingly submit and comply voluntarily. There is no reason to suppose that this will ever change. Mass civil disobedience is extremely rare for a reason. It's a nice dream, but that's all.

Prole in practice? Plainly, but not in (his) theory. The "ever since the French revolution" part is instructive. He has (correct me if I'm wrong @Snowball) adopted a "third way" ideology, ala distributism or G.K. Chesterston. If that's so, then he thinks that the end of the old order (which he caricatures just like the socialists) opened the doors to evil, exploitative, atomistic "capitalism" (itself a derogatory term). My view? A pinko who talks about fondly of medieval merchant guilds is still a pinko.

If the Founders thought that this was how it would end up, they would have made friends with King George and never fought any revolution at all. This politics that we have is a joke; you see this?

I don't know that hiding in Podunk will work forever. If you want to be able to predict the future... All that really matters is federal spending, the money supply, and the exchange rate between the dollar and the yuan. As long as living standards in this country are reasonably acceptable to most people, things will be fine. When that is no longer the case...

The state is entirely capable of compelling people to pay taxes and observe other laws. This, indeed, is why the state exists, and has for thousands and thousands of years. You think that "ignoring them" is either novel or likely to succeed? Gee, why didn't we think of ignoring them before... And you have the gall to suggest that those of us who don't join in with that infantile solution are tainted by Common Core? Get a grip

I wasn't suggesting that you're average; no one on RPF is average. I'm suggesting that you think twice before going to war over whether Giant Douche or Turd Sandwich ruins the country for the next four years.

There hasn't been more consumer price inflation as measured by CPI because much of the money previously created didn't end up chasing consumer goods and services (rather securities) and because much of the money went overseas to satisfy the international demand for dollars. Both of those trends are likely to change as the US implements increasingly large and increasingly permanent "stimulus" programs: MMT, UBI, whatever they call it. More of that money will be spent on consumer goods and services, and this will gradually undermine the dollar as a world currency.

Suppose Biden takes office in January and the reported covid data in February or March are still really bad. Would that be evidence that the Deep State™ wants to oust Biden?

It's obvious that both candidates/parties will be pursuing socialistic policies for the foreseeable future. What's important now is not who wins but how the winner wins and whether that creates additional problems.

Okay, but the voting is over, so there's no more reason to "make up" covid data to convince people to vote against Trump, right? So, why is the "made up" data still getting worse? ...could it be that it isn't being made up?

No, they would start a civil war. Fortunately, I don't think the average GOP official would go along with this strategy.
