Well said Ted Cruz, someone like Lee could mean actually overturning tyranny, hopefully Trump doesn't fall for the argument that a moderate record is needed for confirmation.

I think you can teach your beliefs and critical thinking at the same time. Kids learning things on their own is often the best, but parents have the chance to teach them the most important things they themselves have learned throughout their lives. Things that they think will help their kids to live a healthy happy life. Things that they wished they knew when they were kids instead of figuring them out at 35. That might include lots of things, how to change a tire, to not eat yellow snow, the importance of personal freedom. For some that may include the opinion that religion is bunk, even a lot of Christians will say that organized religion as we know it is a joke. For me though the most important thing in my personal journey has been coming to the belief that there is a God and he is knowable. Whether that sounds weird or off the wall is not my concern, I'd share it with anyone. I just honestly agree with Jesus when he said seek and you shall find, I hold that I have. I don't think sharing that is brainwashing though because I don't tell anyone they should believe because I do or the book I read says so. I would just tell the kids to look for truth themselves. If someone doesn't want to look for God, or says they tried, or whatever else I don't try to shove my beliefs down their throat. In fact I love hearing of their own journey over a beer no matter what it has been. Because I do believe in truth, if I am wrong my opinions should die with me. So many people don't see it that way. Religious people often want others to believe in something because they do. This seems silly because of course it seems to the nonbeliever that the religious person just believes because someone else told them to. Atheists often mock those who do believe in something, and say only children believe in things they can't see. This seems silly to those who have had religious experiences, because the atheist seems to be saying that his lack of reasons to believe in a God means that no one else could possibly have one. Both examples show human arrogance, and clearly both can lead to teaching a child something other than the pursuit of truth. At the same time though an honest atheist, believer, or agnostic for that matter can both teach what they believe and a pursuit of truth. "Based on my years spent on this earth I believe/don't believe/ don't know/ don't care about X, here is why ____________, go out on your own and see what you find if it interests you."

Don Willett's speech on the Constitution, starts 11:50. Seems pretty solid on states rights, liberty, and checks and balances. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Y4X4DgVTik&t=710s

Yeah, but recommending a family member would get bad press. They are both on the list anyway. Fingers crossed, and Massie's point stands of course. https://twitter.com/RepThomasMassie/status/1012053319894872065

Oh WOW. We missed something here guys. Rand says Gorsuch was the best on the court and dissented because he wanted a stronger property rights ruling.

I'm not going to play that game. For the record, I'm sure you and I are on the same page on virtually every issue the court will rule on, I'm not picking a fight where there is none to be had. However, for the record what are your other priorities? Napolitano took the liberal side with the cake thing. Gorsuch voted against the 4th Amendment, you say he's still likely the best guy on the court despite that atrocity. Clearly you think he's better than Andrew Napolitano would be? Can you lay out some other issues besides the Cake where you think Gorsuch has a truly strict view that will be better than Napolitano's?

@Swordsmyth, who else can you recommend for our consideration for SCOTUS who will espouse this position? Or would you rather find some TeoCon recommended by Breitbart who rubs you the right way on Russiagate? The SWAMP says taxation is theft? Lol.

In the first part he said she's a liar and that the FBI shouldn't have dropped the investigation when they did. I haven't seen where he's contradicted himself, saying Hillary will get away with something and talking about an investigation that is already underway are apples and oranges if you ask me. Still not clear on the principle here, you seem to think that if one candidate is in he should be immune from investigation and not the other? The Judge has seemed pretty steady in his principles on this.

Um, saw that. I strongly disagree with him on that. That's why I said besides that. And so far you have just given me partisan distractions, where you would demand he take the exact opposite position if team Blue was in right now.

And? I think Russiagate is garbage myself, but if a president fires people who might be investigating him of course some people will see that as obstruction. If roles where reversed and Obama or Hillary was president right now and did the exact same thing, the Republicans would be on the opposite side of Russiagate. We all know that so what's the big deal here, that the Judge has a consistent view on checks and balances?

OK, so I read his opinion piece you linked where he lays out his view of checks and balances and how it relates to a president when under investigation. So? I'm not even saying I agree with it all but what part do you take issue with? Maybe he did take an anti- Constitution position, can you point out specifically how? Also where has he flip flopped on pardons? Making sweeping seemingly hyperbolic statements about how he's a Deep State Hitlery supporter doesn't tell me anything.

Just watched this. Here's what I got out of it. 1 Judge Andrew Napolitano says based on written law and pleading guilty the sailor could not succeed in a lawsuit against Obama. 2 Judge Andrew Napolitano says Hillary clearly was more reckless. 3 Judge Andrew Napolitano does not seem make a judgement on whether the sailor should have been prosecuted, seems sympathetic to his family. What did I miss that makes this video evidence that Andrew Napolitano hates liberty and is the 'Swamp'?

Besides his odd logic on the cake ruling, what has he actually said or done that has done anything to change the fact that overall throughout his career he has been a more consistent defender of the Constitution as written than anyone on the court in recent memory? I'm interested in actual defense or opposition to the Constitution, not an administration.
