No one is bound by the Constitution, but only by the force that others have the will and wherewithal to bring to bear. It is the latter that is the source of political authority, not the Constitution. And while might does not make right, being right without might won't get you anywhere. An elector fight in Congress for every election going forward would indeed be absurd - utterly, astoundingly and farcically absurd. It would also be wonderful, and is a thing that very much needs to happen. Mass democracy on the scale of a third of a billion people cannot avoid being absurd, and the sooner this fact becomes undeniably obvious to as many people as possible, the better.

At that point, the proper resolution is to declare that those states have seceded from America by way of their unconstitutional actions. And kick them out from America. The greatest,, best country in the world, has no room for Marxist fascist bs. Just declare them out and be done with it

The more hopeful part of me wants to think that Trump will pardon Assange and/or Snowden, if only as a way to stick a finger in the eye of the Cathedral as he departs office. But the more cynical (and realistic) part of me suspects that Trump is too much of a gutless narcissist to bear (what he perceives as) the additional damage the Cathedral will surely do to his "legacy" if he grants either or both of those pardons. IOW: It all comes down to how much of a self-regarding coward he is. I hope not much of one (and I will be delighted if that is the case), but I'm not holding my breath. If he does it, it will be the best and most laudable thing he's done in his tenure (along with not starting any new wars). We'll see ... Beyond what they have already done and still intend to do.

There will likely be an election, if only for the sake of appearances. The Cathedral's dope pushers gotta keep people mellow with those blue pills, after all. And the man who falls from the top of a 100-story building says he hears the same "you're gonna go splat" rhetoric as he passes each floor. But "so far, so good," amirite?

It has been perpetually delayed by lawsuits, injunctions, and protests. The left will never allow this pipeline to flow oil. The right could learn a lot from their tactics. The problem is that the right is TERRIFIED of being vilified by the leftist media.

My neighbor is an atheist who believes no such sky pilot fairy tales, and will be quick to tell you so. My neighbor has become convinced that everything I have worked for to provide for myself and family, are ill gotten gains that are in fact rightfully his, and have only ended in my hands because of a rotten system designed to do nothing more than that. My neighbor also believes that human beings are not individuals, but rather just a collective mob of competing interest groups. He's convinced that the real problem is that there are just too many of us and not enough of him. Therefore he has committed himself genocide for the greater good, including my and my family. And you wish me to embrace and make peace with these demons? People who can legitimately think and act that way are as different from me as a race of space aliens.

The construction permits would be issued by EPA, I believe, under NPDES. EPA is an executive agency, and as president Biden would have the ability to unilaterally withdraw the permits. I'm sure there will be a civil lawsuit filed by TransCanada. But here is the relevant question: We can thank Nixon for the existence of EPA. And we can thank the unstoppable, unquenchable, grinding wheel of the Cathedral and all its acolytes for the accumulation of these and countless more powers to the office of the executive.
