To be fair, "pro life" crowd does not lose to "pro choice" crowd when it comes to hypocrisy about sanctity of innocent life. Guess which group was the strongest champion of racially/greed motivated revenge attack (that resulted in deaths/maiming of millions of people of various races) against a country that had not attacked us: Protestants and Frequent Churchgoers Most Supportive of Iraq War news.gallup.com/poll/.../protestants-frequent-churchgoers-most-supportive-iraq-war.asp... Despite conspiracy theories, no evidence that WH welcomed anti-gun protests & media coverageWhite House is not equipped to encourage or orchestrate anti-gun protests and media coverage despite some conspiracy theories. It would have also been very wrong for WH to see Parkland shooting tragedy as a 'reprieve' even if WaPo reports citing un-named White House official is partially correct about WH facing various growing scandals at the time of this news. But reports like these probably would continue to fuel various theories. For the weary White House, Florida shooting offered a ‘reprieve’ from scandals By Ashley Parker and Philip Rucker February 19 The White House was under siege. Domestic abuse allegations against a senior aide were ignored, pointing to a potential high-level coverup. Two Cabinet secretaries were caught charging taxpayers for luxury travel. A Playboy centerfold alleged an extramarital affair with the president. And the special counsel’s Russia investigation was intensifying. The tumult was so intense that there was fervent speculation that President Trump might fire his chief of staff. But a gun massacre at a Florida high school last Wednesday, which left 17 dead, seemed to shift the media glare away from the Trump scandals and gave embattled aides an opportunity to re*focus on handling a crisis not of their own making. While the White House mourned the loss of life in Parkland, Fla., some aides privately acknowledged that the tragedy offered a breather from the political storm.

This CN article by a US Marine uses very strong language: Our Hyper-Militarized Nation Has Bred The Endless and Violent Bloodbaths We Have At Home By Matthew Doljanin, Monday at 12:32 am The recent shooting deaths Wednesday at a Parkland Florida High School point to an even more extensive epidemic of killing children and innocent people. Our glorification of the military and the use of mechanized and industrial violence to solve conflicts is not new. But it has gotten tremendously worse: in fact, since post 9/11 it has become atrocious. Our worship of military weapons, policy, and brutal vengeance of a dehumanized enemy has cultivated Parkland and Las Vegas shootings. Therefore it should come as no surprise Nikolas Cruz was arrested wearing a crimson JROTC sweatshirt. The military methods cultivated overseas have come back home. Statements that other countries are primitive and violent and have been fighting since the beginning of time does not describe them. It defines us. There is no other country on the planet with a history of violence like ours: internally and externally.

Claims of kids shooter in JROTC shirt, was trained by NRA/US Army Are Mass Shootings in U.S. Blowback from its Perpetual Wars? February 15, 2018 Coleen Rowley — a former FBI special agent who exposed some of the FBI’s pre-9/11 failures and was named one of TIME magazine’s “Persons of the Year” in 2002 — writes on Facebook: “It looks like this latest Florida school shooter besides having a number of psychological problems was in JROTC. Most reporters are not mentioning the connection between mass shooters and military training/service. Research shows a significant correlation. I’ve been saying for years now that the steep increase in mass shootings in the U.S. can be traced to blowback from the extreme ‘war is the answer’ militarism (all over social media, Hollywood, violent video games, etc.) used to sustain and promote U.S.-NATO-Israel’s perpetual war.” Rowley criticized media coverage that “lauded the ‘great show of force’ (showing dozens of police running into the school when the shooter had already escaped). And again TV anchors asked the ridiculous question about ‘motive’ as if it’s a detective mystery when that term really has zero relevance to vulnerable people turning into senseless violent copycats just shooting up public places because they have come to think that’s the American way of solving problems and becoming heroes.”

Heard surprising claims about Parkland school kids shooter being trained by NRA/US Army and US Army using video games to recruit school kids on DN news report. Have not seen this in other MSM covergae, so not sure if confirmed reports. Another linked news video claimed video games are used to recruit 13+ year old middle/high school kids. More importantly, if mental fitness/age resquirements for JROTC and other military programs are made more restrictive, how will that impact recruitment for freedom operations in place like Iraq, Afghan, Syria etc? In quick lookup, did not see any MSM print report on such claims, came across this IPA article that seems to make similar claims: Are Mass Shootings in U.S. Blowback from its Perpetual Wars? The term "liberal" and "conservative" seems to be misused quite often. is the writer here implying that Trump is a conservative and anti gun control ? Actions speak louder than words. His recent verbal statements to win election aside, on quite a few issues 'borrow and spend' Trump might even be a bigger "liberal" than Obama. Kushner may have been treated harshly by some parts of media in the past (Bill Maher had called him ' a !@#$ing idiot' on air) but are White House staff or CoS John Kelly/Mueller treating him unfairly now? Kushner treated 'very unfairly,' but clearance is up to White House chief, Trump says President Donald Trump says he’ll leave it up to chief of staff John Kelly to decide whether his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, will keep his interim security clearance. Trump says Kushner has been treated “very unfairly.” Kushner’s among dozens of White House aides working without permanent security clearances for the better part of a year. Kelly set a Friday deadline for halting access to top-secret information for those operating with interim clearances.

Kushner-Kelly divide deepens over security clearance overhaul By Kaitlan Collins, Kevin Liptak and Jeff Zeleny, CNN Wed February 21, 2018 NYT: Kushner resisting restricted access 01:55 Washington (CNN)White House chief of staff John Kelly has been locked in an internal struggle with President Donald Trump's son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner over his access to highly classified information for weeks now, a confrontation that has escalated amid a recent policy overhaul and the resignation of a staff secretary who was accused of spousal abuse. The dispute has deepened a growing rift between Kelly and Kushner, who initially welcomed the new system of rigor instituted by the chief of staff but has since grown frustrated by what he views as attempts to limit his access to the President.
