Concepts and ideas are the only things that matter. If the 21st century has lost it, there is no greater time to rebirth it. And liberty is the antithesis of tribalism. Whereas tribalism demands all wills bend to the demands of the collective, liberty demands individualism. You can have community with tribalism and society without collectivism.

Personally, I don't want ICE or any Fed/alphabet org to have any say on what a state can do. THAT is totally unconstitutional.

Can we PUHLEEESE get over the "Hillary would have been worse" shit? And I NEVER agreed that Trump was better in any way than Hilary. They are both dung heaps- just some here like one flavor of dung better than the other. I do not like EITHER. GOT IT? And nobody ever really dissed TheCount, that I can recall, until he was obviously anti-Trump- before he was just fun sarcasm- now suddenly he's baaaaaad.

Technology has nothing to do with being more tribal or less tribal or even more free and less free. China is one of the most technologically advanced nations on the planet. Singapore is one of the richest. Neither rank anywhere near the freest. Further, it doesn't matter how big or small you are if the conqueror has far superior technology if your only method of resistance is violence. You're going to lose. It doesn't matter if you're a state or not. Being a state in fact grants no great possibility of success or failure in warfare. The Inca and Aztec both were highly developed states with more well-trained men, more organization, and a greater knowledge of the territory than their Spanish conquerors. Yet the Inca and Aztec still lost. Sometimes in insanely lopsided battles. At the Battle of Cajamarca, for example, around 180 Spanish soldier defeated anywhere between 3,000-8,000 highly trained Incan warriors. Why? Cannons and steel. It has nothing to do with Anarchy vs. the State and everything to do with technology. In fact, if you want to compare, the Native Americans of the US and Canada, even though they were smaller groups, more anarchic groups, were able to put off total domination by their more advanced invaders by hundreds of years. Whereas the highly statists Aztecs and Incans fell in a matter of years, it took centuries for the English and Americans to totally pacify the Natives. You still have isolated Native resistance as late as 1924 in America! So, being a state has nothing to do with success or failure at war. But if we look at which groups are able to continue fighting the longest, even against technologically superior foes with greater numbers, it seems the more anarchic the better. Anarchy proves superior.

President Trump Beats War Drums For Iran By Ron Paul - October 17, 2017 President Trump has been notoriously inconsistent in his foreign policy. He campaigned on and won the presidency with promises to repair relations with Russia, pull out of no-win wars like Afghanistan, and end the failed US policy of nation-building overseas. Once in office he pursued policies exactly the opposite of what he campaigned on. Unfortunately Iran is one of the few areas where the president has been very consistent. And consistently wrong. In the president’s speech last week he expressed his view that Iran was not “living up to the spirit” of the 2015 nuclear agreement and that he would turn to Congress to apply new sanctions to Iran and to, he hopes, take the US out of the deal entirely. Nearly every assertion in the president’s speech was embarrassingly incorrect. Iran is not allied with al-Qaeda, as the president stated. The money President Obama sent to Iran was their own money. Much of it was a down-payment made to the US for fighter planes that were never delivered when Iran changed from being friend to foe in 1979. The president also falsely claims that Iran targets the United States with terrorism. He claims that Iran has “fueled sectarian violence in Iraq,” when it was Iranian militias who prevented Baghdad from being overtaken by ISIS in 2014. There are too many other false statements in the president’s speech to mention. How could he be so wrong on so many basic facts about Iran? Here’s a clue: the media reports that his number one advisor on Iran is his Ambassador to the UN, Nikki Haley. Ambassador Haley is a “diplomat” who believes war is the best, first option rather than the last, worst option. She has no prior foreign policy experience, but her closest mentor is John Bolton – the neocon who lied us into the Iraq war. How do these people live with themselves when they look around at the death and destruction their policies have caused?

Which has nothing to do with the federal law that you keep quoting. Like I said. Sounds either very serious or like a broad nonsensical claim which someone might fall back upon after realizing that there's actually no federal law that's being violated. California is not responsible for funding ICE. Its bills do not affect ICE funding. How would someone "inquire into someone who is here illegally?". If the officer already knows that the person is here illegally, then no inquiring is needed. If you're unable to explain yourself, then maybe I'm not the stupid one.

As spudea mentioned, no, he did not. Individual and household/family subsidies for health care continue. Trump's health care plans have always been focused on lowering the cost of health care borne by the consumer, whether resulting from reforms or by additional government subsidy. He's repeatedly supported universal health care, and he encouraged the Senate to modify the House's bill to spend more. He knows that if any changes that he makes increase cost, his populist base will begin to howl. Luckily for him, he's got the Freedom Caucus which he can roll under the bus if necessary as the scapegoats for lack of "progress."

Or you can read the forum? People that have formulated their own answers? It's tiresome trying to explain the same thing over and over again to people that aren't capable of seeing beyond what they were told.

Yep. President Reagan once visited Salt Lake and was astounded by the LDS welfare system- said it was the best in the world. Now .gov has stopped their farming in many parts of the country and is trying to crush that very same welfare system. Heaven forbid that locals should take care of their own. The gov needs to be taken out of everything.

Information regarding immigration status. Only. Nothing else. Exactly as I said. Can you point out the part of the California statute forbidding the transmission of that particular information? I don't see it. Well then point it out, by all means. The statute that I quoted specifically allows release of a detainee to ICE if a warrant exists. That's in keeping with federal law. California has no control over the resources and logistics of ICE. Are you proposing that every member of law enforcement in the country is or should be deputized as part of ICE, in effect federalizing all levels of law enforcement?

Hey, just FWIW, if you ever get into prose poetry/epic poetry (ala Pushkin), you would probably enjoy the books and software by Randy Ingermason. His stuff is geared toward novelists, but it's useful for complicated poetry as well, IMO. ~hugs~ Try self-publishing your stuff on Amazon, etc, btw. It's more lucrative than Big Publishing nowadays, IMO. "Writing Fiction For Dummies" is pretty much a must-have too. Not only does it cover the craft, it gets into the business of selling a book, publishing, etc. (again, geared toward novelists, but good for everyone) ttyl. ~hugs~

About The Rebel Poet
I was born and raised an orphan
In a land that once was free
In a land that poured its love out on the moon
And I grew up in the shadows
Of your silos filled with grain
But you never helped to fill my empty spoon
Linguistics, religion, cartoons, chess, movies...blah, blah, blah
