Isn't it wonderful that Rand doesn't act like a petulant child, like so many others, and instead capitalizes on opportunities to get the President's ear to provide constructive input that is already changing policy.

In a media event like that just standing around there is always going to be an awkward moment or awkward spot you are standing in unless they are actively doing something or conversing. . If he was smiling and staring they media would have been all over that to.

Just when I started to get demoralized last month and stopped paying attention. Then it is like wow, it is actually going to happen after the Pauls long road of pushing for it going all the way back to the 08 campaign. (Maybe further back, but that was then Ron caught my attention with his platform). 3 Paul Presidential campaigns promoting it and finally Rand working with Trump we got it. Great news!

No, but there were a number that said Rand should not work with Trump and anyone that suggests it was attacked for it.

This is great news. Thankfully Rand did not listen to the advice of the many loud mouth jackasses in this forum that bashed me and others saying Rand should work with Trump to get some of his platform implemented. Particularly the competition across state lines.

He needs to step down. The knee jerk joint statement was inexcusable. Too bad the media looks to the NRA for gun rights when GOA is a far better defender.

At the point that the person who frequently advocates world government on this forum becomes "us", this forum should be shut down. Luckily, it hasn't reached that point. Yet.

If he passes any form of gun control I think it will be a pretty good indication he is only running for one term. If he caves I do not believe he could win the nomination in 2020 even if he tried. If he did win he would lose the general. One can only hope he is just placating the gun grabbers and dangling the carrot to shut them up in thinking he will work with them. At least that would be the smart thing to do politically until this blows over.

Gun control is not the answer. There would still be less than 58 dead and 515 injured if the folks were armed. Even if security had sniper rifles the count would have been less.

There will always be killers among us and if determined enough they could kill just as many people without a gun as was killed at this venue. You can reduce the risk of mass shootings like this by removing restrictions on concealed carry. If everyone was armed at that concert less people would have died. The shooter would have had to take cover or been killed from return fire. Gun control killed those people. Every politician responsible for these laws has blood on their hands.

I hope I am wrong. Ivanka: Daddy, please pass an assault weapons ban. Week One: Trump does nothing. Ivanka: I am not speaking to you until you pass an assault weapons ban. Week Two: Trump pushes for an assault weapons ban which will have bi-partisan support due to Republican's caving from pressure to crying comedians, Hollywood actors and the far left.

I was talking about not burying the lead. Like I said I did not see the last FNC interview where Rand did lead with it.

I in fact did and never said he did not support it as he has been talking about it for years as well as I have been posting about here since 07. It was a major plank of both his and his fathers campaign platforms. The competition aspect from Trump and Republicans in general has taken back burner until recently and even Rand had it down on the list in his speech. (obviously not in the Fox News interview above which I did not see. I only saw a prior interviews of Rand on FNC where he led off with HSA) The first thing he said he liked was HSA's at 0:58. This is also not the only speech or interview where he led off with HSA's. I am not against HSA's and not saying he should not bring up his HSA plan. I just believe people will generally tune out right after you say HSA so he probably should not lead with it.

When Rand or someone brings this up people I know get pissed since they do not know the details of the newer HSA plans. They just hear HSA's and what immediately comes to mind is money being confiscated every year and not enough to cover the outrageous costs of health care. So my criticism is about how it is perceived and that it will fall on deaf ears to anyone listening without leading up on the details of HSA's and cost reduction.

Rand again led with liking the expansion of health savings accounts as a solution. Frankly the majority of people in this country are unable to save and really do not give a damn about HSA. Even if they could put money into an HSA on average it would not cover the cost of a simple procedure or a day in the hospital that costs 5k-100k or more. There is a real problem with out of control healthcare costs and we are not hearing enough from anyone about how these costs can be reduced. For example whatever happened to the discussion on competition, including allowing companies to compete across state lines.

These multi-millionaire players are actually enabling police abuse by pissing off the majority of people in this country that were waking up to it and it is truly amazing you are too blind to see that. With the money they have, a single player or group of players could have brought air time, organized protests, promoted policy on a website, etc. There is so much they could have done to rally people to a just cause of exposing and reducing police abuse rather than making it all about race, a Socialist platform, anti-white and what is perceived as hatred for the core values the nation was founded upon. Issues forcing people unwillingly to line up opposing them or turn their back on them. As for my disdain that is all in your head. I have posted instances of police abuse frequently over the years here and participated in the discussions. I am not opposed to privatization and promoted it here in the past but honestly in this imperfect world I doubt it would reduce police abuse entirely. Maybe some areas could effectively eradicate it but due to the nature of people I am sure some would support a service provider with that as a feature. Privatization is not going to happen anytime soon but if you and these groups really wanted to stop police abuse the focus would be in police - citizen engagement policies. Instead of focusing on all these other issues that have nothing to do with police abuse.

You are naive if you think they are simply "shining a light on police behavior". This is the problem with some Libertarians, they align themselves with people that have utter disdain for their values for falsely perceived common ground. These protesters would gladly replace the American flag with a black nationalist flag and anthem while demanding you pay them reparations. Meanwhile while your business is getting robbed by their friends they will demand your incarceration for defending yourself. They in turn will support using force by their armed gangs or by the very people they are protesting against. Oh forget about defending yourself from those armed gangs since these same people will demand you register and turn over your guns. Again by force using the same people they are supposedly protesting against. I never looked at the flag as something to worship but rather the values and blood sacrifice for those values that it represents. I believe the symbol has been adequately used to join tribal factions in the US and therefore keep the piece due to the majority belief in these shared values. When a significant percentage of the population loses sight of those shared values we will then be headed towards tribalism and ethnic strife something like we have seen in the Balkans. It won't be pretty and you can forget about rationally debating libertarian values or any form of rule of law even if it is privatized. Since they have already proven facts do not matter to them. It is whatever the knee jerk feeling the tribe has at the time and a belief system that is the antithesis to your Libertarian mindset.
