He has a ton of neocons (for instance, Rubio), Waltz isn't very special in that regard. Hegseth has unhinged bloodlust to the point where he doesn't even seem like a neocon (I generally use that word to mean more strategic schemers).

If she has no chance of getting confirmed otherwise then she has 3 choices: 1. Sell out and get the job 2. Stay true and don't get the job 3. Lie and Trojan horse your way in Given the neocon types that surround Trump, 3 is unlikely to work at all because then a new problem emerges: 1. Sell out and keep the job 2. Reform and get fired So basically we are screwed no matter what but at least Tulsi may have a little more restraint than a career ghoul would have so I would rather see her get through.
