I guess I'm one of the rare people here who doesn't like abortion but also thinks the right should be protected. The main proposals seem to be: 1. Ban providers from performing abortions - desperate women will just find other ways to reach the same endpoint 2. Punishment for women - involves extreme intrusions on privacy IMO, the abortion fight should happen in public/private discourse (even Ron Paul made the point that you can't legislate morality), rather than trying to get the heavy hand of government to clamp down on it. How to reduce abortion: Provide support to those who would be contemplating it (there are a lot of Christian organizations which do this) Promote adoption / adopt yourself (again, there are private organizations that help with this) Promoting education / educating your own children about how to avoid unwanted pregnancy in the first place

Yeah, it's pretty silly to use this sample size of 1 analysis to show anything, but people on both sides constantly do it to the point where the actual two sides seem like "stupid/disingenuous" versus "pays attention to empirical evidence". What should've been "big government shouldn't have the right to force vaccines on people" has also morphed into complete denial of the efficacy of the vaccines to the point of hilariously tragic mental gymnastics. One of the things libertarians always got over Blue Team and Red Team folks was that "just because something works, the government shouldn't have a right to force it", and "just because something is bad, the government shouldn't have a right to ban it". But it's pretty astonishing the amount of Red Team stuff even in libertarian circles nowadays, from those who can't even seem to get the difference between pro-liberty policy and objective reality.

Like her or not, you can't escape the fact that MTG talks about some issues that other Republicans (outside of Massie and maybe a few others) would never be caught talking about to the public while taking the pro-liberty side. If you want to replace people like MTG with Republicans who take the opposite anti-liberty side just because they talk with an "intellectual" demeanor, then I have to wonder what you're trying to accomplish. The worst thing I can think of is that liberty haters will attach her to particular sides, but if nobody is to speak up in the first place there wouldn't even be a debate. Name 10 Republican congresscritters who would be caught dead saying the phrase "unconstitutional Patriot Act" for instance.

Another thread, another bad faith argument in defense of your idol. Even in the link that you linked, it describes what Trump had problem with in the bill. Hint: it had nothing to do with military spending (or spending in general), and the thing he threw the biggest fit about (removing Section 230) would've made a bad thing worse.

The useful thing is the objective data obtained, not what the "leader of the study" tried to spin the results into when it said something opposite of what he wanted.

Are we talking about diverse from within the Middle East, or diverse including European ancestry? The context is important, and I don't believe your premise follows through to your inference. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chosen_people To you, "explicitly undermining" is the quotation of one person using mental gymnastics to try to protect his mythology. How about to the degree that modern Zionism is expansionist? In general I find it hard to demand that people give back land which their long-dead ancestors generally took, but some of it was quite a bit more recent and the nutjobs don't want to stop.

They weren't a very "diverse group of people" just because they had a backdoor for a few proselytes to get in, lol. The article does support the claim I made by acting as a premise for modern Ashkenazi Jews being mostly of non-Middle Eastern descent. There, I took the word "Semitic" out. You happy now? Honestly if you're just going to focus on nitpicking a particular word, you could spend similar energy digging apart the indoctrination propaganda used by Zionists. What is your opinion on Zionism and Israel?

Lol "one way to reconcile" aka "the best mental gymnastics we can provide". The article would never make those claims because they are just sharing their findings and obviously if they said anything like what I said they would be labelled as anti-Semitic due to the control over the narrative that Jews currently have. That they accept/continue to accept proselytes has no bearing on the manipulation tactics I detailed.

They claim that land belongs to them because of this Middle Eastern semitic ancestry. This is the root of the ethnonationalist Zionist movement. They are mostly not descended from the people they use to lay claim upon this land. It definitely works. They manipulate Christians using claims of being the descendants of the tribes of Israel mentioned in the Bible. They base a lot of racist/supremacist/chosenite beliefs in the Torah, further elaborated upon in the Talmud. Exposing the fake news is essential, whether you say it's that they are "mainly not Semitic" or "mainly not Middle Eastern" or "mainly not the sons of Shem" or "mainly not descendants of the Jews in the Bible". You can play word games all you like by honing in on the word "Semitic" but as I mentioned in my previous post, you cannot escape: Not sure why you're doing their work for them but whatever...

Nobody even mentioned the word "anti-semite". And semitic is just a derivation from semite. You're playing pretty severe rhetorical tricks yourself, and even in your definition it makes direct reference to the words "Jews" and "Jewish", which according to MANY Jews is something which they define by their bloodline and DNA. The original rhetorical trick was to swap out "Jewish" for "semitic" in the word "anti-semitic". The reason why it's so tricky is because it makes it directly about race and ethnicity rather than religion and beliefs, making the offenders seem more like racist evil people as if that was the only thing that would motivate people to oppose Jewish-based ideologies such as Zionism and neoconservatism. The real rhetorical trick continues to be: When Jews say racist, supremacist stuff, it's religion. When people oppose their racist, supremacist stuff, it's race or Nazi-adjacent. When Jews hatefully attack Christians or Muslims, it's religion.
