I do not see race as an inherent issues in this. Why not? Do you have a problem with the Amish? Could we agree they are a different culture? My point is that you can have a functional society with people from different culture backgrounds, that on its own does not cause any problems.

I thought the author had some good points. Consider Facebook, does anything with their website add to the GDP? Nothing physical is being produced, yet they obviously have a 1000's of employees working on software. There are a some cases where this is true, such as with TVs. Nobody buys bulky CRT TVs, they have gotten smaller and cheaper; thus providing more bang for the buck. So if we just looked at TVs with tech updates being the only variable it would seem that the GDP went down. Yeah, that is a bit  and has to be "overlooked" to get to the good points.

Define "open borders". In detail. Pro-liberty people support property rights, such that if you own property you can decide who enters and who doesn't. Consider that government owned land is not open free-range property, it is private property owned by a collection of people. Those people can set the terms of use of their property, such as allowing their own to use it freely, while restricting its use by others. This is a completely pro-liberty construct and could be seen as a closed border view. Some pro-liberty people prefer to have local land corridors that are free-range, and not owned. This is also a completely pro-liberty construct and could be seen as an open border view. Obviously it is not possible for one land area to have both of these models at the same time, but they both can exist side-by-side on the planet. IMO, this is the solution we should seek.

I brought up the CRA since Johnson supports at least parts of it, I thought that was what you getting after. I see philosophies and principles pretty much the same (strategic viewpoint), but policies are different, as they are tactical. See below. I agree with this 100%. Well stated. It is also principal in support of Man's life itself.

The agenda is put forth in the site's Mission: http://www.ronpaulforums.com/content.php?1957 Please let me know if you have any questions off of that. The campaign evaluation system is a bit more complex than our Mission principles, since it recognizes the political challenges our movement has. A key issue that you seem to be hitting on is with the Civil Rights Act, to be certain, this legislation is in violation of the fundamental concepts you outline but conversely, attacking it is near political suicide. From a practical standpoint if we had a choice between a candidate that would further the welfare / warfare state vs one who would drive us to 100% liberty minus keeping the CRA, what do we do? Our lives would be 99.99% better with candidate #2, so some will choose to support them with an asterisk that the disagree with the CRA issue. When evaluation candidate on the issue they get graded as follows:

Yes, I have given him three +reps this year, they certainly have nothing to do with me agreeing with him on supporting Trump, not that he was he promoting Trump. Two were from the thread on the announcement were we were banning promoting Trump, the posts were just a discussion on the site policies. I +rep'ed him because I respected the way he was conducting himself in a non-ideal situation. I try to get along with all people, even when I don't agree with them politically. The third +rep was a discussion / analysis of the Colorado primary situation, he was seeking answers and furthering positive dialog. I do not support Trump. The site does not support Trump. We have policies that allow for discussion but not promoting Trump. Hope this clears things up. Thanks.

This thread is intended to be a collection point of the strong pros and cons of any potential liberty candidate / campaign that is being discussed / promoted on the forum. You are welcome to post both positive and not-so-positive attributes about the candidate as they related to the evaluation. Important notes: * This thread will be following the site's "Functional Debate Principles". * This is an official evaluation, the "Site Issue Evaluations" guidelines apply. * If you have any questions on procedural matters contact the staff outside of this thread. * Anything off-topic will be deleted; stick strictly to the issue and facts at hand.
