Following up on post #218, the court has now dropped the hammer (a default judgment) on Rudy Giuliani for refusing to obey her discovery orders:

There will now be a trial on the amount of compensatory damages he has to pay.
In addition, the court ordered Giuliani and his affiliated companies to pay the Plaintiff's attorney fees and costs in the amount of $132,856.
You have it backwards. Congress can only remove the disqualification; it can't make the initial determination that the person is disqualified, any more than it could make a determination whether a state law violates Due Process, Equal Protection, or Privileges and Immunities.
Sadly, the only solution if a sitting President does this is impeachment. If convicted he cannot ever serve as President. But apparently once he's out of office the only solution is to not elect the SOB again.
