New Attorney General Nominee William Barr’s Record on Guns Revealed Dec 08, 2018 President Trump said yesterday that he intends to nominate William Barr as Sessions’ replacement. The choice has been greeted by applause from both Democrats and Republicans. Barr is a Bush 41 retread, having served as Assistant Attorney General, Deputy Attorney General, and finally as Attorney General. BATFE was under the Department of Treasury during Bush 41’s term and the Department of Justice had only limited authority over firearms. Barr has said little about firearms or gun control during his career, but he is widely considered to be the author of PL 101-647, The Crime Control Act of 1990. The Crime Control Act of 1990 had a number of firearms provisions. The Gun Free School Zone Act is the biggie, but probably the work of Senator Herb Kohl of Wisconsin – not Barr. The GFSZA’s strange rules set the context for MGO v. AAPS, despite SCOTUS finding much of it unconstitutional in Lopez.

I responded to Swordy in another thread: Quite the conundrum, isn’t it. Sacrifice liberty for security... deserve neither. A. Build a wall restricting human beings, leading to other police state tactics, at tremendous cost in dollars and freedom. B. Let them in, vote for the very same welfare your own government refuses to eliminate.

Let them in, to vote for the very same welfare your own government refuses to eliminate. Either way it costs financially. Because government never ends welfare and steps out of the way to allow free markets to naturally fix the problems. They only compound problems ensuring their own jobs.

Check out the gun forums. Not only do they love love love kavanaugh, they believe every republican in the house/senate can do no wrong. In fact, they still worship bush.

I agree, there is no fixing the current system. The problem becomes, those in power will never allow things to transpire to our advantage. An illusion perhaps, but that’s about all.

Everything is in motion, with no change for the better. It’s now moving exponentially. Certainly those in power are not going to relinquish it. They have been at this for well over a century, and the American people still do not wake up - in fact, they don’t even pretend anymore, and now promote it. After the collapse, does it stay the same? Get worse? At some point in the near future will we be required to make visits to suppress our thoughts? Your thoughts?

The United States tax payer funds the United Nations and is a member state. Republicans NOR Democrats have NO intention of pulling out. It is a topic that nobody - politicians, voters or public - is even interested in. Certainly not the U.S. news media. When there is no outcry from the public, things like this become easily accepted. Please share and raise this topic often.

I suppose it depends from whose perspective you are asking. Families can do a lot for a child's sense of security and future economic and personal outcomes, which is why we want stronger families in the first place. From the perspective of someone with no family support, it seems a bit unfair. But unfairness doesn't mean it's a bad thing. Dori www.LittleLibertarians.com

If you don't educate your children, someone else will. My problem is not with any of these selections. In fact, I'd say many of these selections are part of a well-rounded education. My problem is with the exclusive representation of social justice subject matters as if these are the only topics that exist. Taken alone, any of these selections are just fine. But when catalogs continue to the represent these subjects exclusively - we're going to have a major problem of myopic thinking in the future. The failure to represent a diversity of viewpoints and subject matter is already manifesting in college students in a complete inability to comprehend ideas outside of one's limited worldview. Philosophically, it's a fair question to ask. Is it an unfair advantage? Yes. Is it still something we should strive for, absolutely. Better stronger families make the world a better place. Dori www.LittleLibertarians.com

I am posting this on behalf of Lois. If you have questions or wish to contact Lois, please PM me. Here is the PAYS (Pennsylvania Youth Survey) website: https://www.pccd.pa.gov/Juvenile-Justice/Pages/Pennsylvania-Youth-Survey-(PAYS).aspx _____ In 2017, I was the only Board member in Hollidaysburg to vote against administering the PAYS survey in our school district. I did my best to educate everyone I could about the questions that were being asked of 6th, 8th, 10th and 12th graders during school time. Parents have to opt out, not opt in, if they don’t want their kids to take the test.

The country is doomed. If trump really was MAGA, he would effective immediately END the FedDeptEd. It might be slightly financially painful at first, but it would get common core off the backs and hopefully promote individual thinking again. Without ending the FedDeptEd, doom becomes 100% certain no matter what other efforts are attempted.

There are pros and cons to any change in the system, historically the only changes that are made end up having a bad effect. Bottom line though is there is no silver bullet. realistically we need better candidates with better strategies and fundraising abilities. Maybe more regional focus, like the Free State Project, which unfortunately is about to be erased at least for now.

Look at Lisa Murkowski, she pissed off the Alaska GOP enough that she lost the nomination to Joe Miller. What did she do then? Run and WIN as a write in. None of our guys could do that.

Yep, maybe, but professional politicians like them never come in third, even when they have scandals. So in the end either Graham wins or the Democrat, as per usual.

So? Unless you really believe 51% of voters secretly want Ron Paul etc, despite 100 years of actual voter history it doesn't matter. You are increasing the threshold for liberty candidates to win. That's plain stupid. In practice this means that Lindsey Graham and John Cornyn won't even need to pretend to be conservative at all, since they are guaranteed to have your vote when the last ballot is counted.

People only vote for candidates they know. Normally a third party liberty candidate could potentially win with 34%. In ranked choice voting they need 50% + 1. It should be pretty obvious.

Anyone with brains should have known that line of thinking is bull, and in the end this system will only increase Leftist control. Ranked voting helps the statist with the highest name recognition/fundraising ability.
