Neuralink has a post-money valuation in the range of $500M to $1B as of Jun 30, 2021, according to PrivCo. In April 2017, Neuralink announced that it was aiming to make devices to treat serious brain diseases in the short-term, with the eventual goal of human enhancement, sometimes called transhumanism. Neuralink tests their devices by surgically implanting them in the brains of live monkeys, pigs and other animals. Neuralink's methods have been criticized by groups such as PETA. From 2017 to 2020, Neuralink's experiments on monkeys were conducted in partnership with UC Davis. At the end of their partnership, UC Davis transferred seven monkeys to Neuralink. In 2022, the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) alleged that Neuralink and UC Davis had mistreated several monkeys, subjecting them to psychological distress, extreme suffering, and chronic infections due to surgeries. Experiments conducted by Neuralink and UC Davis have involved at least 23 monkeys, and the PCRM believes that 15 of those monkeys died or were euthanized as a result of the experiments. Furthermore, the PCRM alleged that UC Davis withheld photographic and video evidence of the mistreatment.

Respectfully, I reiterate: State is every bit as bad Federal, especially in Common Wealth states where the majority are left/democrat/socialists. And where businesses grease the politicians hands, after what was a good/promising candidate got elected and then turned bad. It is the mindset of the people. State, Federal, it is all representative, which is why we are where we are.

I am so at the point that MTG, Tom, Rand (as good as they are), are doing nothing but keeping the final thread from snapping. The few who still have hope continue to cling to the corrupt system that we have. The rest, who either don't know, don't care, or want to take advantage, are mere leaches. All empires must come to an end. Enough already. The only way I see out of this stinking mess is to let the house of cards totally collapse, people forced to start at ground zero and learn to be self/small community reliant again - even if it does Pete Repeat like it always has throughout history.

Tom and Rand are grasping at whatever straws they can. I hope they can accomplish what they set out to do. But, government always grows, it never shrinks. The only way to shrink government/debt, or balance for that matter, is for people to stop relying on it.

It's money that drives it. Also people are scared. But once the people no longer fear government, like they did with lockdowns and masks, it is far more effective that "voting". Even the gun folks who own stores. They were holstered, but feared losing their license. Perhaps now they are simply waking up.

A follow up question: If a vote had taken place on ending lockdowns and masks, what do you think the outcome would have been? Now I wonder if there ever will be a "vote" to end the TSA . But hypothetically, if there is, would the "vote" be as effective as a whole bunch of people just saying NO?

I was not aware that people "voted" to end the lockdowns and quit wearing masks. I thought they just ended up doing what I did at the very beginning and completely ignore politicians and rules. Was there a vote that took place that I was not aware of? I am basically alone in this, and there never seems to be a referendum, and no politician ever put it on the table, but I often wonder, what if everybody like a whole lot of people who flew in airplanes just said no to TSA, like they did with lockdowns and masks.

I see you graduated with high honors from the leftist school of debate, Matt. You know damn good and well that’s not what I mean. But by all means keep banging your head against that wall trying to “changeA” government.” Might as well try to perfect human nature while you’re at it, for all the good either will do. Be sure to vote good and hard next elction. I’m sure everything will be straightforward and honest and produce 100% reliable and fair results.

Then, with all due respect my brother, you’re simply wrong. A state is not necessary to protect free individuals from wrongdoers. In fact, it’s very existence provides the opportunity for those wrongdoers to multiply their influence and leave would-be free men with limited options to deal with the situation. The circumstances we find ourselves in right now came about BECAUSE of the cover and protection provided to those wrongdoers by the state, not in spite of it’s “protection” of fre individuals, which it never actually provides.

“Government,” by it’s very nature MUST constantly violate those secured rights simply to continue to exist. A “free society” simply can’t co-exist with the state. The two are mutually exclusive.
