Gov. Ron DeSantis Signs $1 Billion Sales Tax Hike on Consumers to Save Businesses' Pocketbooks Gov. Ron DeSantis late Monday signed into law a plan to require out-of-state online retailers to collect sales taxes on purchases made by Floridians, with the estimated $1 billion a year in revenue going to curb a pair of taxes on Florida businesses. Florida business groups have lobbied for years to require out-of-state retailers to collect and remit sales taxes, saying it is a matter of fairness. But past proposals failed because of concerns by Republicans that they could be viewed as increasing taxes on consumers. Retailers that have a “physical presence” in Florida are already required to collect and remit sales taxes, But retailers without such a presence haven’t faced the requirement when they make sales to Floridians, who have been technically supposed to send in sales taxes on their purchases —- though few do.

LewRockwell.com By Igor Chudov May 29, 2023 A Nature article published two days ago might make you go hmmm. To increase lagging vaccination rates, scientists developed specialized AI actors to talk to people online to convince them to get vaccinated. This was done in response to all-important but unmentioned “stakeholders” demanding that chatbots be deployed to improve vaccine acceptance among the refusers:

That would be quite the test, wouldn't it? In A/F's words "bring it on already"? That's the problem with God/Natural-given Rights; too many people rely on politicians and legislation, rather than drawing a line in the sand and make it be known. "Permits", registration, CCW, how long have the pro-gunners supported those until recently? I never have. Not once. Ever. And the Pro-Gunners themselves used to tell me how right-wing-extremist I was. Bush said it best "GD words on a piece of paper". Well, he's right, unless and until.

Video in the following article: It is interesting disappointing how a single issue voter can cause so much havoc that it drowns out the myriad of other major and costly problems that have caused our country to tank, crumble and divide. Some on the “right” don’t trust him concerning the 2nd, some on the “left” don’t trust him either because they believe he might possibly/secretly support the 2nd. Anyway, he still has my support, whether he “wins/loses” is inconsequential, unless and until the hearts and minds of the divided people learn and understand what freedom truly means - from within.

Have the red flag laws been overturned? I guess the folks down there either don't mind, or haven't made it clear enough to whoever holds office. I'm not making light of this. But for too long, people have been sacrificing their rights; Red flag, Patriot Act, NSA, TSA, Massive Spending. Perhaps instead of waiting for politicians to do something, this will be a wake-up call for the People to do something. IMO, politicians are representative of the people, either people who support such "laws", or because they are too complacent.

You are one of the most aware and liberty grounded on this forum and I always enjoy reading your posts. I am not sure where you even got that impression? For the "record", you are among my favorite posters :-)

Say wha??? jmdrake, this thread was about "tariffs", which I am 100% against, even if RFK supports them. I am not a single issue decider; Anti-abortion, he gets my vote! Pro-gun, he gets my vote! He hates democrats, he gets my vote! I look at the entire records, and if records are not available due to not having held office, what issues are being addressed that have an impact on liberty, freedom and fiscal responsibility. RFK is addressing corporate/lobby and legislative capture. He is addressing the corrupt pharm and military complexes. He is trying to explain that corporate polluters can actually care about the environment and without poisoning people, while advocating a true Free Market system. Whether we actually get there is for the People to decide. He is trying to get it through to everybody that if we can re-unite as Americans and actually talk about issues, we can stop digging ourselves deeper.

As much fun it is to play with stuff and eat like like that, I'm more into "changing the hearts and minds" as Ron Paul advocates. I'm still hoping RFK will be a uniter, and get folks to understand that corporate capture/lobbyists are the ones driving everything that is happening in government, ie: Fascism/Global Control.

Yep. Come to the farm, we can show you the same, except we have 50 feet of home-cooked food for before, during and after. But I am sure that you know as well as I do, what "hoops" and "payment" to fed.gov is involved. I was referring to the commonfolk People. Like, where can one buy that stuff over the counter as easily as they can buy a dozen hot-wings tonight? SWAT Team: they have 6 pea-shooting guns in the house! We need to use the Battering Ram! And trust me, if/when they approach a compound with the equipment shown in that video, Fed.Gov will have no problem sending out the troops with no restrictions on size and number at all.

That's nice, and likewise I am happy for you. Now, because I like big teeth, aside from the 9mm pea-shooters that you are allowed to have out of appeasement, where are all of those machine guns, tanks and grenade launchers that the commonfolk People can use to defend against such government tyranny?

Wow, jmdrake, that's a lot. So allow me to sum it: You can not legislate morality. But if a child is harmed in any way, sexually, slave labor, or otherwise, there are laws already on the books. The accused gets a court date, a jury, and a verdict. You as an attorney should know that. Government(s) "banning" will do nothing but drive things underground, and as a byproduct in the case of banning entire countries, affect innocent by-standers who have no involvement. This may sound contradictory to you and perhaps some others, and if it is; I am staying grounded that outside of family and local community, the federal government's role is not to decide/enforce moral behavior. If you personally want to ban, then ban.

Occam's Banana Anti Federalist , ponder this: RFK Jr. routinely refers to and defends the Bill of Rights, citing specific examples of how they were violated, which more people need to hear. Considering that his father and uncle were assassinated, and he doesn't speak about the 2nd A (if he has, please cite the source), I consider RFK Jr. to be "gun shy" - not gun control, simply because he has not "controlled" anything. Also consider that because he believes that the CIA had involvement in the assassinations, he understands that nobody is going to take government agencies guns away. As I have stated previously, Obama sold more guns than any other president ; it is up to the People to defend/protect their rights, not politicians. The 2nd A is not a concern for me. There are other more pressing issues that need to be dealt with, such as corporate capture/lobbyists, which drive things such as Anti-gun, LGBTQ, War, etc. etc. etc. and other campaigns.

Wouldn't that be something? Wait... let me keep prying for answers that I want to hear, so that we could give him yet another another chance. /sarc

jmdrake You are attempting to justify placing "bans" on large groups of people and/or entire countries. There are already laws that can be applied to deal with individuals. The same goes for murder, arson, etc. How do I know what happens or how each individual is treated in a large semi-conductor plant over in China, India, or wherever? Or what happens to employees who manufactures/forms steel in a processing facility? You are suggesting that I become "The Worlds Police", or have our country be The Worlds Police (which this Empire already is) to place "bans" on large groups of people and/or entire nations, which I will not advocate or do. As I stated before, if people feel like, or are treated as slaves, sexual or otherwise, they can quit, revolt or flee. The people of that community in other countries can/should address any other problems that they have a problem with. Just like we should do here at home. This is not a justification, but consider this: 100 employees are paid a "substandard" wage, say for example in Viet Nam (according to what you believe a wage should be, and compared to wages in the United States). They are able to survive, feed their families, buy toys, tv's and cars. By placing a "ban" against large groups of people or an entire country, the factory/company will no longer have purchasers, commerce stops and those employees will ultimately lose their jobs. Wow, a lot of good you just did by placing that "ban", don't you feel swell?
