We should start our own hashtag.:( I went out tonight specifically dressed to get sexually harassed and nothing happened. Mr A told me I looked like a "ho-cake" but then he fell asleep in his chair watching The Trailer Park Boys. I don't think that counts.

Hey! My coloring is on the right side of the chart but I identify as "white" - specifically, a Ritz cracka. I'm not transracial but I do have my black ID. I got it because I used to go to a black club with my girlfriend back in the day and people kept axing me what a little white girl like me was doing there so I told them I got in because I had black ID. Nowadays, I'd probably get my ass kicked for saying shit like that but back then, people just laughed and called me a crazy azz cracka. For reference sake, I don't like Pumpkin spice flavored anything or Starbucks (I'm not above drinking one of those chocolate chip Frappuchinos if you bring me one, though) but I do own a pair of Ugg boots. I'm also a known cultural appropriator and have an inappropriate costume for every drinking holiday. My natural habits are the laundry room, kitchen, back porch, and the liquor store. On nice days, I can also be found free ranging around the cul de sac looking for someone to chat with. I wonder what I would be in the Field Guide.

I watched about half of the first episode and didn't get the first scene. It appears the army guy wandering around in the woods finds a dog who dies in the Mist a few seconds later but when he gets to the town he's freaking out about HIS dog dying. I know it wasn't his dog because he looked at the dog tag right before the dog died. I just didn't get why he was acting like it was his dog.

Wow, that brings back memories of the lectures I heard in zoology class back in 1975. The professor was going on and on about something called Opisthorchis sinensis. I wonder how he knew there would be a problem with those guys.

I always laugh at these discussions. I flew very complicated and demanding single pilot aircraft in the past. seven of them that I knew crashed and they are dead. They didn't have any passengers on board. One of them had a weapon officer in the backseat and he killed him too. Unlike a doctor, we cannot bury our mistakes. We spent many many man hours investigating accidents to try to prevent them in the future. Our training is completely geared towards malfunctions and safely recovering an aircraft. Our lives depend on it. Take that out of the equation. And the failure rate could be as high as doctors. When you shop for a medical procedure do you go online and look for the cheapest doctor you can find? Are you going to do that if one company offers a cheaper ticket on a pilotless airplane versus one that has a pilot? Even though currently that won't be an option for a long time as I stated the infrastructure and expense will be much greater for a pilotless aircraft versus paying a pilot. My skin is in the game, not so much for a "robot." I fly an aircraft that holds over 300 warm bodies. their ticket costs is less than 4 dollars an hour of flight time to have the crew on board. First class pays more of that, economy much less.

Oh, it is coming, but I will be dead by then. I suspect we will see single pilot cockpits in cargo first.

Lol. so what would be the response to a passengers concerns that they bought a ( cheaper) ticket guaranteeing there is a human pilot aboard? Open the door during boarding? I have never seen a cockpit crew not allowing someone to come to the cockpit during boarding. I often let them sit in my seat and take a picture with their camera if they wish. Usually parents with their children and some aviation geeks, but younger women get expedited handling.

Not quiite that accurate yet. But do you appreciate the costs? We are not talking about ballistic missles with some later stage guidance. We fly many times that amount on a daily basis in a much more dynamic environment.

In the case of aviation, it will be a huge cost to try to automate getting an aircraft to be loaded and safely airborne to fly to its destination and the unloaded and serviced, etc. The infrastructure will be in enormous and very costly. All a competing airline has to do is advertised that they have a pilot or two on board for their passenger safety. That airline will not have to spend the huge amount of capital to retrofit their aircraft and supporting systems for the small cost of having a human on board. How do you think the passengers and the market will choose/respond?

Interesting fact. When I fly over the pole and enter Russian airspace, it is very difficult to understand their English on the radio. When I enter Mongolia it is almost like they are native American English speakers. Then I enter Chinese airspace and again the air traffic controllers are as hard to understand as the Russians speaking English. HB, why is that? Mongolia has only around 2,700,000 people today but is a large nation, 18th in land mass. And at one time they ruled over 20% of the earth. The Chinese even built a Great Wall to try to stop those savages. Was that Oyarde's tribe which finally give up and moved to America to take advantage of the indigenous people here before they were eventually conquered by the Vikings?

I have a pair of Stihl MS260 Pro's. Love 'em. No problems sans regular service 15+ years. Can't tell you how many chains I've put through them. They've easily seen a hundred cord. I always run ethanol free fuel; 91 octane and Stihl brand 50:1 mix. New about $550 at the dealer (I think the 260 Pro is now called the 261); you can usually find them used around $250 on craigslist; I dickered a rookie pawn shop clerk down to $100 for one of mine. For heating your home and tending your homestead I'd recommend anything from Stihl in the MS250 to MS290 range. Anything bigger than that gets needlessly heavy for homeowner work and anything less will slow you down when you have a day's worth of making rounds for winter ahead of you.

In a few hours I'm taking a plane from HKG to Chicago and just looked up the crew list. The Purser's name is, "Noel Sugarplum Fruitcake."

PS, don't tell AF or he may reconsider leaving for JetBlue.
