Hay Options Trader, I'm forwarding a message I sent to a friend but not poting it, as in many cases the volume just isn't great, but the potential is there. I've followed you on the Economics forum. Any comments appreciated!

    re: portfolio:

you sent me yours a couple of years ago, though it was in some weird apple/mac format and I was never able to get it open. Think it died in a HD crash... gmail may still have a copy though...

anyway, here is mine. I've got 16K invested and made 7-8K in 3 months. It fluctuates, generally +/- $500. Current worth is 23-24K.

I know you can't do bio-tech stocks, which unfortunately is the majority of my portfolio, so I won't talk about those, with one exception as I think you may have an out. It's in China and has the countries contract for flu vaccine. SVA has been very good to me, with a slow and steady upward growth curve every day for months! I expect this trend to continue through the flu season.

CNFO, in time I expect to be huge! - sea water desalination at about half the cost of other systems. Stock is cheap now.

HEPI might also be off the radar - they make health supplements (think health supplement / vitamin store). One product drops your harmful cholesterol level by half!

HLCS is getting some attention right now. A prof published a letter in Nature this week about using one to sequence his genome in 3 weeks with this machine. They are going to turn gene sequencing on it's head and every lab and university is going to want one of these 1M dollar each machines! Completely revolutionary breakthrough!

MEXP are gold hunters - they find sunken ships. Latest news is they found treasure and are headed back to port with it, but are being coy about exactly what was found - expect announcement any day! A similar company saw a stock price change from about 40 cents to 8 dollars overnight with a good find. Currently 15 cents a share.

NXPN is a new natural gas company. They have a confirmed pocket and will start drilling the week of Aug 21st. If it's a good concentration, I expect the price to skyrocket!

SNRY is a solar company that has a number of fed contracts and has bids in for more. Slow, steady stock.

Of the list I sent you before, I sent that to my broker (25 items with dividend yields between 14 and 63%). He kind of went silent for a sec when I casually mentioned yields above 60%... that "double take" or "deer caught in headlights" moment... I'd actually searched for anything above 5%, and didn't expect to find anything that high. Anyway, he's going to look over the list and do a tech analysis - see what companies are stable and trustworthy. I can let you know his recommendations if you are interested. Said he'd try to get back to me tonight, though is about to go on vacation for a week, so it might be a bit.

dividends aside, I did see a number of stocks that I liked anyway. oil tankers and cargo ships, funds that are diversified in other countries - things like that...

Anyway, take care, (and please don't hate me if you loose money - I have money invested in the above too!)

    Nathan

Quit vacationing. You need better Proletarian Discipline. You show a disgusting amount of individualism. Stop clinging to your old ways. "I" is outdated. "We" is the future!

In the beginning of a change, the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot.
