I'm not a hard core purist, but a "service obligation" is creepy and way over the line for me.

I thought the article really downplayed the fact that Hunter Biden was clearly being bribed. It makes it sound like Hunter Biden had a legit position that possibly had the "appearance" of a "conflict of interest". This part stood out to me. It's amazing how casually they talk about how the US should run other countries.

It occurred to me that there's a pretty easy way to tell that Joe Biden is guilty of corruption regarding Burisma and Hunter Biden. No one is arguing that Hunter Biden was getting bribed for Joe Biden's influence. Hunter was paid something like 6 million for 5 years by Burisma. The question is if Joe Biden acted on Burisma's requests. Right? Now suppose you're the honest vice president of the US, in charge of Ukraine foreign policy. You find out your son has taken a job at a Ukrainian energy company and it's obvious it's a bribe to use your influence. First of all Hunter Biden is a slimy, scumbag for even doing this. Anyway you're an honest guy, so what do you do? First you tell your son he should quit because this gives the appearance of major corruption. But you raised a scumbag and he refuses. So your next step is to contact Burisma and tell them they might as well fire Hunter because you're not for sale. But that doesn't work either. So here's what you would do if you were honest. You would either recuse yourself from directing Ukrainian foreign policy or at the very least go public with the fact that your son took a huge bribe from a Ukrainian entity and you were not going to let it affect your policy. But Joe Biden did none of those things.

That's exactly what I was thinking. The trump and hunter biden convictions were designed to keep the biden regime in power. The idea that hunter biden's conviction proves the biden doj is fair is laughable. They don't give a crap if hunter biden spends time in jail, they want to win!

Nah, not everyone. Just the serious cases like this one where it involves the president, hundreds of billions of dollars of payments, and war with the most heavily armed nuclear country.

I agree. Who gives a crap about a gun crime that shouldn't even be a crime? Meanwhile a ukranian energy company was paying hunter biden millions as an "advisor". We're heading towards nuclear war with russia and hunter biden is right in the middle of the action. It's like giving ted bundy a speeding ticket.

It looks like they been doing a version of project 2025 since 1981, which as far as I can tell has being ignored since 1981.

I don't know anything about coal plants blowing up and Agenda 2030. Why would they commit suicide? Who are they? So last night I talked with my ultra progressive co-worker about politics for the first time in a long time. i try to avoid it because he's really out there. Anyway he said if trump gets elected they're going to do something called Project 2025 and that will be the end of civilization.

I agree with most of that except I don't think the people at the highest levels of government want to send us to the stone age. At least not on purpose. I think they want what everybody wants. Lots of money and a cushy lifestyle. And so they want to stay in power and the best way to stay in power is to keep the economy intact. The problem is they want short term solutions to keep the economy going. Which means spending, borrowing and printing which will ultimately lead to hyperinflation, which is the end game that they don't want.

I think trump's biggest weakness is he wants to be popular so he won't do the most important thing, and that's to cut the size of government.

I've been wondering about something similar. The commonly held theory here is that the deep state is in control and they hate trump because he's an outsider. Maybe it's more of a republican/democrat thing, not insider/outsider? Maybe they hate trump because he's a republican that is favored to win? The media hated bush and he seemed pretty "insider/deep stateish" to me. And they loved obama and biden. My guess is the media and deep state will hate the next republican favored to win, no matter what. I think the truth is probably a combination of both. The deep state and media both like the status quo and the left.

I totally agree. Trump was a terrible president, only slightly less terrible than Biden and Obama. The federal government doubled in size under his watch. A lot of the price inflation we're seeing now is from the spending, borrowing and printing during Trump's term. But this is so obviously a fake, show trial. I don't see how anyone on this forum could disagree. Even if you ignore the fact that these trials are all made up charges, what are the odds that Trump gets charged with all these things, most of them from many years ago, right before the election??? It's mathematically impossible to be a coincidence. To me the idea of jailing your political opposition is much wore than anything Trump has done.

Does it even matter who he appoints when he literally doubled the size of the swamp in 4 years?

Last week I forgot to charge the battery after the last cut and it was still able to cut the whole yard again. I have about 6000 sq ft of grass to cut.
