I feel like the whole gun violation, tax cheating thing is misdirection. Meanwhile Joe and Hunter Biden were taking bribes from a Ukrainian energy company. The same country that Biden is sending billions of dollars to and risking world war 3.

It would actually be the right thing to do. But no one wants to trade short term pain for long term gain.

US federal debt just hit 36 trillion. Interest payments on the debt are now over 1 trillion and 20% of tax revenue.

I don't think Trump wants us to be poor, he's just economically ignorant. If TheTexan got his way and we banned all trade how long do you think it would be before he reversed his decision? I'd give it 2 days.

Approximately how many undocumented immigrants do you foresee will be deported under Trump’s second term? Discuss.

I think cutting spending is by far the most important thing. We are on the path to hyperinflation if we don't cut spending. Normally I'd say there's a 0% chance that spending gets cut, but I'm giving it a slightly higher chance this time. Trump is a lame duck president and he's got some people around him that seem to know how critical spending cuts are. This is fascinating to me. On the one hand history will tell you they're more likely to go on a spending orgy, but on the other hand I don't think I've ever heard so many people talking about spending cuts. When do they do the budget? I feel like it happens early in the year so we won't have to wait long to get an answer to this.

For the people that think Trump is going to cut spending, what changed since the last time he was president? I think there's a very slight chance he may cut spending based on the fact that he has people around him that are warning him about the debt. But only a slight chance. Maybe 1%. And remember that for the cuts to be real, spending has to actually go down during the next 4 years. No "reductions in the rate of increase" or "future cuts".

Should we ban trade between the states?

The polls support lack of large scale cheating. I'm not totally sure about the exact numbers but I think in 2016 Hillary was favored by about 4 points and it was virtually a tie. In 2020 Biden was up by like 8 but only won by 4. Then in 2024 they were tied and Trump won by 4. So the polls were consistently off by about 4 points which makes sense because people are embarrassed to admit they are going to vote for Trump. If there was massive cheating in 2020, the polls would've been inconsistent. They would show Trump bias in 2016 and 2024 but not in 2020.

Yes it does, it sets the precedent that the feds have power over the states in a election. If you give the feds the power you're going to regret it in the future. Remember when Bush passed the "Patriot Act"? You think it's mostly being used to catch terrorists?

You never answered my question. "Ok, suppose we've already nationalized the elections like you propose. In the swing states that Trump won the "Biden Election Czar" claims that votes were disenfranchised because of id laws and awards the presidency to Harris. Are you ok with that?" Nationalizing elections seems great when your guy has power but not so great when the opposition has power. Your guy can mandate voter ids but the opposition can mandate no voter ids just as easily. Also since we have the electoral college it doesn't really matter that much if a state is committing fraud because most of the time a blue state is going to go blue whether they cheat or not. If Oregon was a red state they're most likely to result in a red outcome whether they cheat or not. Here's another question for you. Do you think the federal government should also determine how a state should hold an election to secede?

If the source is the COB you'll have to double, maybe triple the estimates. I don't know why people even quote them since they are historically on record as being so far off.

Yeah, that makes the most sense. As long as it's not on an industrial scale like in 2020 it should be ok.

If they increase spending at anywhere near the same rate as Trump's first term, I'm putting the odds of double digit price inflation at 90% before the end of his term.

That's what I'm expecting. I'm wondering if guys talking about cuts like Musk and RFK will be part of the administration and ignored? Or just not part of it at all? We probably won't have to wait vey long to get answer. The big spending wish list seems to be the first thing they do.

If you watched the Rogan interview with Elon Musk he talked about what I think is the biggest problem and that's the debt, specifically the interest on the debt which is skyrocketing and now taking up around 20-25% of all tax revenue. Normally when a new party takes over with all 3 branches they go on a huge spending spree. Do you think that's going to happen this time?

I agree but be careful. The "push" for voter id should come at the state level, not the federal level.

I agree, although I tend to think mail in ballots should not be used. It seems way to easy to cheat compared to having to vote in person. How would you catch someone mailing in a bunch of fake ballots? Also I think if there's fraud it should be handled at the state level, not the federal level. Otherwise you're basically federalizing the election.

The question for me is how will it affect spending. Every time either party gets control of all 3 branches the very first thing they do is sign a massive "wish list" spending bill. Will trump listen to guys like elon musk who warned that the debt is close to bankrupting us? I think we'll find out right away.
